Yes and yes.

Cheapest I have seen for one is this one but check around, you can pick from multiple ones under 200, 21:9 goes more towards the 230-700+ dollar range.

u/BreezyOG · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Just a general question since I'm building a new pc & need a new monitor to go with it as well(getting an rx 480 graphics card):
I purchased the 22" version of this monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018MYT3YO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(it's shipping atm & returns won't cost anything if I ever needed to example being, getting a better suggestion from this subreddit).
Would this monitor from this thread/post be a better option or should I just stick with freesync(would also appreciate it if any of you could suggest a monitor 22"-24" around this pricing that is better, open-box, refurbished, new, etc.)

This will be strong enough to run dual monitors.

And the new COD game (Potato PCs can run COD games. A 750 ti can run COD MWR maxed).

This computer has a VGA port and two Displayports for monitors. You'll need to buy a Displayport to HDMI cable to make this computer to work for you.

Get two of these monitors and two Displayport to HDMI cables to connect the monitors to the computer. Monitors that come with Displayports and Displayport cables are much more expensive than these well reviewed devices.

I’ve got two ViewSonic VX2257-MHD 22" only got em cause I wanted to use DP. They’re a good size to fit both on my desk. No idea how good they are but they do the trick for me.

u/Talpss · 1 pointr/AMDRadeon

All GPUs are compatible with all monitors. Even if you don't have the right cable you can use converters and stuff. The BENQ is no different. However, since you're using an RX 480, I'd recommend you get this ViewSonic monitor. It's around the same price and it comes with FreeSync, which eliminates screen tearing without needing V Sync. It's a great deal for the price and it's probably the same quality as that BENQ monitor.

u/Ibuildempcs · 1 pointr/buildapc

You may want to consider one of these two freesync monitors:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B018MYTH9U/?tag=pcpapi-20

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B018MYT3YO/?tag=pcpapi-20

depending on the size you are looking for.

I personally love the smoothness that freesync/g-sync adds-up when playing around 50-60fps.

u/NEStalgia314 · 1 pointr/crtgaming

If you're fine with it, you can usually find monitors with input lag of just a few milliseconds. They won't have the best color reproduction, but they'd be fine if you wanted to do that. Otherwise, units like this can serve the purpose that you're looking for.

u/Heniboy · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Ideally you would want to get a 1920x1080 monitor with a DVI or HDMI or DisplayPort connector. VGA isn't that good.

If you live nearby a microcenter they have a sale for a good monitor at $80: http://www.microcenter.com/product/408370/E2252SWDN_22_1080p_LED_Monitor

It's a 22" monitor which is a good size. It's full HD and has a good 5 ms response time and uses a DVI connector. You will however have to buy a HDMI or Displayport to DVI adapter as the RX 480 in my build does not have a DVI output.

If you would be willing to pay about $20 more you could get this monitor: http://www.microcenter.com/product/462882/S22F350FHN_22_HD_LED_Monitor

This is as good as the other monitor but it has HDMI input so you would not have to buy an adapter for it, and it has a technology called freesync. Freesync only works on AMD graphics cards and basically makes the image look smoother and nicer. It's hard to explain, I would look up an explanation.

If you do not live by a micro center you have some options on amazon here for $100: https://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-21-5-Inch-HDMI-Monitor/dp/B015WCV70W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1474251803&sr=1-1&keywords=monitor

That is a very nice HP monitor. It uses another screen type called IPS which has very very nice colors, and it has a much wider range of colors it can produce. Unfortunately this monitor does not have Freesync but it is still very solid and would do very good for gaming and it would not need an adapter.

Also, if you would rather have Freesync over IPS, there is this $120 monitor on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2257-MHD-DisplayPort-FreeSync-Technology/dp/B018MYT3YO/ref=sr_1_13?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1474252022&sr=1-13&keywords=freesync+monitor

This one is very good as well, it doesn't have IPS but it does have Freesync. You would not need an adapter for this one either.

u/Parthosaur · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

A bit more expensive over at Amazon if that's more your thing. If you're willing to wait, CamelCamelCamel says the lowest price has been $104.99.

u/chopdok · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yeah. For example, You can get Asus M32 pre-built from Amazon for 399$. Its a rig with i5-6400, 8GB of RAM, 1TB 7200 HDD, and Windows 10 bundled. Also has basic keyboard and mouse. The case is kinda meh, but it has 80mm exhaust fan, and Skylake CPUs are very cool running anyway. A perfect fit for it would actually be a reference RX 480 - because of blower cooler design, it will not cause a buildup of heat inside the case, and thus the subpar airflow is not much of an issue.

So, thats 399$ for the rig, 199$ for RX 480 4GB version, and 40$ for a decent 600w power supply. You don't actually need 600w for that rig - but PSU is a good investment, watts don't get obsolete so you can re-use it in the future, and 500-400w units are not that much cheaper anyway. Thats 650$ in total for a rig with i5, 8GB of RAM, RX 480 - a perfect set-up for 1080p gaming.

You can then buy a VX2257-MHD - which is a 1080p-60Hz monitor with FreeSync. Thats another 150$.

So, we have a fully working gaming rig now, for 800$. Which means - there is still 100$ free in the budget. So, 240GB SSD for 65$ is an obvious choice at this point.

Total cost ~865$. For a rig that can max out pretty much any game at 1080p, with FreeSync.

This is more or less how you do it.

Let me go over my picks for you.

Number 1 best value: Acer 240HY. 23.8", IPS, and almost no bezels. 60hz, so pretty great for the price, with HDMI.

Number 1 best 144hz gaming monitor: Viewsonic XG2401/2701. It has freesync, the best color of all sub $300 monitors, and can rotate into portrait mode if needed. This monitor is fantastic if you have an AMD graphics card. If you do not, however, you'll either want a G-sync monitor (Much pricier) or go for a Benq and save money, since those lack freesync (Which doesn't benefit Nvidia cards anyway) but still have fantastic ratings.

Speaking of which, this is the best 144hz monitor without Freesync or Gsync. BenQ XL2411Z

Want a fantastic cheap Freesync monitor? Look no further than any size of these Viewsonics. Viewsonic VX series. All are 60hz but overclockable to 75hz (Nice!) and they all have freesync. I'd still recommend the #1 monitor I listed first, since IPS will probably be a lot better on your eyes, but these are great alternatives if you want a cheap gaming monitor and have an AMD card.

Want 144hz gaming but you're a cheapskate? No problem. Either buy the AOC G2460PF (Freesync!) which doesn't look quite as good as the Viewsonic I mentioned second but is $60 cheaper, or go for the Atron Vision AVF24 for an alternate, highly rated but lacking Freesync monitor. You can even get them used off Amazon for $150ish too!

Personally, I think for you, the first monitor I listed is your #1 best bet, BUT you can, if you really want to pinch pennies, go for the Acer H236L 23" monitor and buy it refurbished for almost exactly $100. It's also a bezel-less monitor, looks okay, and has high ratings. Personally, based on my research though, if you're going to buy this one new, go instead for the Acer I listed at the top, since it's IPS and this one is LCD. It still seems the better deal.

Happy shopping!

$210 for a 144hz and $130 for a 75hz (at 144hz-30hz and 75hz-47hz range respectively), but I'd highly recommend getting an IPS panel for media over a freesync panel of the same price.

u/Rickrogue · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I was looking at this 22" Viewsonic for $109. 2Ms response time, and although I do not have an AMD GPU, it also supports free sync. It supports display port connections, which is what I was looking for in an inexpensive monitor.

u/-Umbra- · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm surprised older TN monitors are still so commonly recommended when IPS panels are often <$100 and FreeSync has made its way into the TN panels (@ 75hz, too!).

Here's a freesync panel:
https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2257-MHD-FreeSync-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B018MYT3YO/

or IPS (sure, it's refurbished, but there are deals often enough on new ones in a similar price range) which also happens to be 75hz --

https://www.amazon.com/AOC-Widescreen-Monitor-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B01MXLNBLM

Just be careful to note that the latter monitor has no HDMI port if you need one for whatever reason

u/Saltyspaghetti · 1 pointr/buildapc

It seems like they are pretty close, though.

monitor

Is this far superior to my monitor?
