Can someone explain why this would be better than the Viotek that's the same price? It seems the only difference is that ViewSonic doesn't have a VESA mount.

u/Smooth_Trumpeteer · 4 pointsr/buildapcsales

Same Specs and price as this Viotek but the ViewSonic doesn't have a vesa mount comparability.

> $600

OK, lets review.

A baseline 32" 1440p 144Hz VA monitor is currently ~$350

A second baseline 34" 1440p 60Hz IPS monitor is currenty ~$500

Best guess a 29" 1440p 144hz IPS is gonna be at least $600

Gsync adds at least $300

HDR10 will likly add at least $300-$500 at 1440p ultrawide, and the only released HDR10 monitors are $2000 4K@144Hz g-sync displays.

HDR certification can be checked for here.

Best case scenario we are looking at $1200, 2x what you are hoping, and its much more lily that the first screens to match your specs will be $1500-$2000.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

The ones that I am hoping for at the VIOTEK 32" monitors. I saw they had a decrease in price last week and I decided to go for them as they seem very high quality monitors. I had a VIOTEK before and was really satisfied of their quality so I am looking forward for these ones. If you have any other 2k-144hz monitors other than the Acer Predator you linked, I'd be happy to look at them. Though try to make them more around my budget ($600).

Thanks! It's a Viotek GN32DB. I've only had it a few weeks but very happy with it so far especially considering the price. It's not on the official list of G-Sync compatible FreeSync monitors, but GSync seems to be working just fine.

I personally haven't seen a 144hz on a 32. On a 27 alone is usually around that price point.

Edit: Ha. They do exist but it's 1440p.

My screen layout in Unreal engine is a 32" tv, and a old cheapo 1366x768 monitor. I don't know about VR development, but I'm very satisfied with that setup, so if you want to go the large screen route, (I wouldn't suggest a tv for gaming) with a cheap monitor on the side that would work well. Just something for you to consider. The 32" monitor seems to be the sweet spot for a very immersive experience when I do game though.

Edit: here's the type monitor I would have in mind

Viotek 32inch curved 1440p 144hz VESA mount ready - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07HHV3LR2?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

I purchased it but have yet to receive it so I cannot attest for anything it claims. Reviews seem decent but to me it’s worth taking a risk as long as you have prime

I’m trying to order the following computer monitor VIOTEK GN32DB 32-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor with FreeSync, 1440p 144Hz WQHD Samsung VA Panel, DVI HDMI 2.0 DisplayPort - VESA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HHV3LR2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_N1EXCbMBJJPFZ . I keep getting a error that says they cannot ship to my selected location (I’m in MN, USA). I have ordered and received 100s of items via amazon to this address and this is the first time I have seen this issue. I have tried addresses of 3 different family members all located in MN, but keep getting the same error. I have also asked family members to try on their own amazon accounts and they are also unable to get the order to go through to any addresses in MN. I have a family member who says it looks like it can ship to an address in FL, but don’t want to ship it there for obvious reasons! I tried reaching out to Amazon, but they didn’t provide much help, they point me to the shipping restrictions, but none of the restrictions listed pertain to the address attempted. I know there are some legal restrictions that prevent delivery of certain items to certain states (pepper spray, hazardous materials, etc.) but a computer monitor to MN?

Any ideas?

What is your budget for a monitor? MSI generally has some pretty good options. I just got a viotek and I'm loving it. I've heard pretty decent things about monoprice and AOC as well.
This is my next monitor for programming (and gaming) purposes.
MSI ultrawide - 100hz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G5FCR6X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6WGUCbRK1QTT8

AOC high-refresh monitor
AOC 144hz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GD5XG5G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bYGUCb5BDFTH7

This is the viotek I got a month or so ago and I'm loving it:

What are you looking for in a monitor? Higher resolution? Higher refresh-rate? What size?

u/i_should_be_studying · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

32 is still good dpi and feels like an ultrawide but 16:9 better support and less pixels to push for those extra frames. Check reviews on this screen its great for the price. Ive got a vega 64 also and it works great

What’s your budget?

For 300, this is about as good as it gets.
I got this a month ago and can’t recommend it enough.
