This is the monitor arm I have
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B01CUW5HDU?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
Also interested in this question's answer. I'm in need of ideas for maximizing space while still maintaining a tight image. Amazon seems to sell a lot of speaker mounting arms but for bookshelf type speaker weight thresholds and usually not with the type of positioning options I'd like (both axis).
For the computer monitors they have pretty usable options though:
Clamping type
Sitting type
(Mind the size limits on the above, there are more heavy-duty options if you need)
I recognize it, the same one I have!
Top monitor is a Dell S2415h, bottom one is a Dell U2913WM. Mount is this
I use this:
https://www.amazon.ca/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_9?crid=UFVOF0UGRV5A&keywords=vivo+monitor+stand&qid=1564184235&s=gateway&sprefix=Vivo+monito%2Caps%2C205&sr=8-9
my second one is the same brand but not as tall
I got the PG279Q + GW2765HT x2 all 1440p. I think my next upgrade is maybe a 32" 4k but I like my 144hz too much to get rid of it
Thanks! It's this one: https://amzn.com/B01CUW5HDU
It's really, incredibly well made for the 35 I paid for it (I think it fluctuates in price from time to time,) however if you're hoping that your top monitor will hang way over the bottom one, it won't quite work. Because it doesn't have articulated arms behind them, you kinda have to angle your bottom screen up and your top screen down if you don't want a gap. I ended up finding a sweet spot, but it would be nice if the top monitor had an arm to lean it farther over.
Vevo Dual Vertical mount, got it off Amazon. Pretty solid although you can't adjust how far the monitors are from you.

This one!
I got a cheap one off of amazon. No fancy mounting stuff. Just enough for two stacked monitors.
EDIT Ask and ye shall receive one for $39.99 plus shipping and handling
EDIT 2: a review
It's cheap. Which is great. It's also pretty damn sturdy. There's slight wobble with a 34UM95 and a 22" Dell 1080p from 2009 on it but only if I nudge the monitors. The mounts allow for pivot, tilt and rotation, but the pole height prevents you from mounting a vertical monitor and anything else. There's two cable clips on the pole to keep stuff hidden, and assembly is pretty easy. I can comfortably fit both my monitors with 6" of clearance from the desk to the bottom of the LG.
4/5 stars. Would buy again.
Not OP but I used this for my stacked setup. Great mount. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUW5HDU/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My setup: https://imgur.com/gallery/9LivX
I have the Alienware AW3418DW and my old AOC I2269VW-B 22" mounted on VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Vertical Array. Just make sure you note the weight capacity of the mount and compare to the monitor only weight (so without the normal stand). I had to crank the bolts down pretty far to make sure it held still since the AW3418DW is so heavy, but now that it's there I haven't had any drop despite moving it left/right a dozen times or so. I think I may eventually go for a more adjustable arm (Freedom arm or the AmazonBasics one probably), but that will wait until I can upgrade my desk too.
VIVO vertical array mount. It's a relatively cheap one from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUW5HDU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have the exact setup you described and use this stand.

The VIVO dual monitor desk mount
I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1478259437&sr=8-2&keywords=dual+monitor+mount+vertical
I went vertical as having a monitor off to the side just felt odd, and is tough to find a stand for with how wide the UW is
just a generic vertical monitor mount, similar to this one:
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sxin_4_ac_d_rm?ac_md=0-0-dmVydGljYWwgbW9uaXRvciBtb3VudA%3D%3D-ac_d_rm&keywords=vertical+monitor+mount&pd_rd_i=B01CUW5HDU&pd_rd_r=4934641b-8223-4e9a-bcb1-1fd9695aa326&pd_rd_w=dmdCy&pd_rd_wg=X1SlJ&pf_rd_p=ed481207-4bea-4e19-bbad-73ed40fdc292&pf_rd_r=53EP7091361P6C6Q0K53&psc=1&qid=1573390370

the monitor to the left is using a separate single monitor mount
The one I'm using is this mount.
If you have the money for it, the best quality gas spring mounts (dual monitors that can be stacked vertically) are from Ergotron or Loctek. They're great for moving the monitors around - the one I have is somewhat limited.
Alternatively, the one by Vivo is quite good, especially for the low price. It's definitely better than the one I'm using, especially if you don't plan on moving the monitors.
This one.
Appreciate the love! It's this stand I bought on amazon. Holding pretty well so far and the tilt is a neck helper for sure. https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1488008173&sr=1-5&keywords=vivo+dual+monitor+stand

I am using the VIVO Stand-V002R and it works pretty well for my LG 34 and a Dell 24 on top. Just make sure your 34 weight is under the limit for the mount. My 24 sits slightly behind my 34 with this stand but that’s ok because I tilt it down.

I got this one- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Ae94Ab1RDSEKK
But unfortunately it’s unavailable right now. Vivo is a solid cost effective company though.

I'm not using two ultrawides but the specs will hold up to two 22lb monitors, so it'll work for your setup :)
Hi! Its an Alienware 34 Curved Gaming Monitor: aw3418dw on the bottom. On top its an ASUS PB287Q 4k 28in.
The stand was bought from Amazon on sale for 29 but now its at 49 VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Vertical Array for 2 Screens up to 27" (STAND-V002R) .
VIVO Dual
Here's a video review of my standing desk if you're interested
Also, here's the amazon link to the monitor arm I use
Do you mean the dual monitor stand or the 2nd level to the desk? If you mean the monitors, I used a Vivo stand from amazon. The 2nd level was the Ikea Lack shelf with the 6 inch Ikea CAPITA legs (thanks again to /u/rxhnck for the idea).
From Amazon
This one. And thanks! I realized I'd never seen it on here so I decided to post mine :)
here you go! It's the perfect height. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUW5HDU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you were asking about dual ultrawides my personal opinion is vertical stack is the only way to go. And I still think it's better even with a 16:9 secondary, but I think side by side in that situation is at least tolerable.
That being said this is the stand that I use for 2 ultrawides. It would work fine for this situation as well and you can tilt downward (I do the same thing)>

Sorry for the late response. For stands I've always used VIVO whether standalone or desk mount, they make great products.

Ive used a few different Vivo mounts though as I've gone through different monitors and different sets up horizontally and vertically and every single one Ive used has been extremely solid and stable
Of course. Actually I’ll post full specs in a minute.
Anyways the arm is in the link below, very sturdy and incredibly easy to assemble.
VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Vertical Array for 2 Screens up to 27 inches (STAND-V002R) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wWuODb9G2MWRA
This one
In lieu of suggestions maybe this-
In the middle:
VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Vertical Array for 2 Screens up to 27 inches
On the right:
WALI Premium Single LCD Monitor Desk Mount
Check reviews and details including mounting methods and weights etc though. This setup would have your middle two fixed with a bit of pitch and swivel, but a seperate arm for your right monitor will give you more flexibility to reposition and switch from landscape/portrait as required.
That's the sort of method I would be using to solve the problem.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Looks like a dual monitor mount. I have the same one, it's made by vivo.
VIVO Dual Computer Monitor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Planning on doing a monitor setup like this when I go ultrawide. Is this the monitor mount you have?
I got the Vivo Dual Monitor Stand
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_24?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1548883845&sr=1-24&keywords=best+dual+monitor+stand
This one is vivo as well believe it or not. My office buys a lot of these quad monitor stands but everyone just has 3 monitors so there are leftover parts all the time. I just took some of the leftover parts and used them to put together a complete stand along with a couple bolts from home Depot. This is the closest thing they make to the setup I'm using. I just only have one vesa mount plate. The key is that I'm using TWO of the poles with a connector in-between to make the pole twice as y'all. That allows me to get the monitor up high enough for me. My monitor had the vesa mount at the top of the back so with just one pole it's the exact same height as monitor's included stand.
It's a Vivo stacked stand from Amazon.
Currently on there for $43USD.
It's not an arm more than it is a stand, https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1517514761&sr=8-3&keywords=dual+monitor+vertical+stand
Something like this:
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU/
Would work. The monitors will fit and it can hold their weight.
A lot of people on /r/ultrawidemasterrace seem to be using this mount.
I'm using a similar one with a different type of clamp in my setup here: https://i.sli.mg/F3SWSA.jpg
I have a similar setup probably something like this or if you don't want a clamp one, try this (I have the second one)
I use this VIVO dual monitor desk mount from Amazon. I really like it. Very sturdy construction and good materials. I set it up once and forgot about it, which is what you hope for with these kinds of things, imo.

It’s good it does it’s job.
Are you referring to the mounting arm to hold both monitors that way? If so, this is what's holding my 27" 4K LG monitor above my PG348Q, it's pretty darn solid feeling.
This one should work. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01CUW5HDU/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1520118754&sr=8-14&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=vivo+monitor+stand
I have an almost identical setup to OP’s same size monitors, in the same places, but I just use this double stack monitor arm from VIVO. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01CUW5HDU/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1502235789&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=vivo+double+monitor+stand&dpPl=1&dpID=21UdH1Wr4JL&ref=plSrch
Im actually using 3. This one for the Ultrawide and top and 2x these for the flanking ones.
>What ratio do you use the two separate monitors at?
Lower is primary/gaming, upper is media. Basically the same as what you want to do. For media it's not really an issue but when I'm typing or reading stuff on that monitor for prolonged periods of time, that's when it's an issue.
>What mount do you use for your ultrawides?
This one
>Can you tilt the top monitor down towards you? Are they 34"
Yes and yes. Weight hasn't been an issue at all. With the screws tightened down they're still adjustable with some force, but will hold their tilt indefinitely otherwise.
The top monitor is the LG 25UM58-p and the monitor mount I got off Amazon
this one

i use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUW5HDU/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for 2 34" uw stack
The stand is a VIVO, fits up to 27 inch monitors. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUW5HDU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As for the desk, I am not using anything to reinforce the desk, but I am planning on getting a single adjustable support beam for the middle. The desk has set up for like less than 2 weeks so sag wont be a problem by the time I get one. Probably just gonna go to home depot for that.
I'm a big fan of VIVO mounts on Amazon, affordable and well built.

This stand vertically mounts two monitors. I use it to mount dual 27" monitors.

My friend uses this with a 34" ultrawide on the bottom and a 27in on top. Works great
Cheers mate, I'm in a rental so no wall mounts for me unfortunately but I'm just using a vertical dual mount. It's not made for ultrawides but meets the weight requirements haha and seems really solid. It comes with two different mounting options; I clamp system or a straight through mount. I drilled a hole through the desk and put a wooden support underneath and bolted it all down. You can move the screens back and forth, rotate and the mount doesn't budge.

Vivo mount
Vivo Dual Monitor Arm
It does the job well, the only issue is because of the depth of the Predator, pretty much any monitor that goes on the top mount is behind it quite some ways. So im using an Ergotech arm attached to the same pole for the top monitor to even them out.

I use this stand. I do not recommend it though since my AW3418DW sags so I need to have my speaker prop it up.
Not gas arms but you can grab a pole type. Although you said 28 and these are for 27.

If you're desk is not deep, I think this Vivo dual vertical mount would do.
If you have a deeper desk and you need to pull the monitors towards you, a mount with articulating arms would be required .
I use this in my dorm for a 29" and a 24" and it's worked great for me so far :)
It’s this one.

I was going to get a basic VIVO one for my dual monitor setup. Either the side by side or the stack. What downside is there to this?
There are lots of up/down (AKA vertical) monitor stands. It takes less space and is easier on the neck (IMHO).
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/
okay well i plan on using this mount with a total weight of 27 pounds in monitors.
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1491840532&sr=8-3&keywords=dual+vertical+monitor+stand
how thick does the top need to be to make it so it doesnt flex. I also plan on using glavanised pipe for the legs and structure if that helps.
Any advide would be very appreciated since i dont know much of what im doing.
Sorry read stand and thought you meant the desk.
It’s this one

Here is the link. It said it only holds up to 27 inch monitor but the reviews stated otherwise so I bought it and it works great!

This is the one I'm using. Bottom monitor is 32" and top is 29" and it's still got plenty of space.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_qO-wzbMWWZXC2
it was 38 when i bought it but itll probably drop in price again

As for the monitor they are a pair of 23.5 HP monitors
I have a similar setup with a 34inch Ultrawide on bottom and a 27inch above with this mount
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU?ref_=w_bl_hsx_s_pc_web_11693193011
I thought it would be weird looking up to the top screen or like people say it would cause "neck strain" but I find it very useful. Especially with an ultrawide. Side by side would take up so much width on your desk.
Here is the one I used.
This one.
EDIT: Why does mobile suck ballz
Yeah, here's one with a stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005C2A3VW
And here's one that clamps to your desk https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU
No idea about the quality of those things, reviews seem alright though.
Both monitor can be adjusted height wise and here is the stand. VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk Mount Stand Vertical Array for 2 Screens up to 27" (STAND-V002R) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_YohwCbDF80X7R
Hey! Yes. This is the model I went with. Easy to install. Inexpensive and has great reviews on Amazon: VIVO Dual Computer Monitor Desk... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CUW5HDU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I don't have a link handy, but you can get units like these but without the monitor attachments, and them clamp the lamp on the top in various ways.
Here ya go! Sorry linked the wrong one earlier
I just got my LG 38 inch ultrawide as well, actually just mounted it all up a few minutes ago.. amazing.
I used this mount here for the 38 with a 29 up above.

I've been looking for something similar.
Originally I wanted to find 2 gas spring mounts (or one with 2 arms) that I could stack a 32 non-UW on top of my 34" UW. I never really came up with anything.
now I'm hoping to find a single vertical mount like this one but with arms offset vertically like this one
Haven't really come up with anything.
Try this one: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Computer-Monitor-Vertical-STAND-V002R/dp/B01CUW5HDU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1519716341&sr=8-6&keywords=vivo+dual+monitor+mount
I bought 2 setup of arms that i often switch or mix

What are the advantages of having two separate ones? Could I achieve a similar setup with this here?:

I was thinking about this one
vertical mount
it says up to 27" so I think it would work for my setup. I've seen a few double ultrawide setups on /r/battlestations so I know it's definitely possible.
Everything looks really cramped and cluttered. And ugh, the bezels on that side monitor. Have you considered one of these
