I've made sure most everything is waterproof or resistant, mostly sourced from motorcycle and off-road products. I've got wiring, but it's a wiring harness routed with cable clips and fabric wire ties so there are rarely issues. Everything is connected with spade connections to make modular replacement easy, and the whole thing is powered by a powerbank that pops on and off the back of my chair using that quick release surface mount so charging is never inconvenient, nor does it require bringing wires to my chair (it could, I've just opted not to do so for convenience and safety). As for the USB lights, those are nice. Bright, dim, slow blink, and quick double blink 4.5-9 hrs on a charge and they pop on and off fairly easy in just about anywhere you put them. They come in a set of one red and one white, so I've got two sets for the sake of symmetry. The only quirk is they have a bit of an angled depression on the backside of the clip, making them angle either up or down. A jewelers screwdriver can pop the back of quick, letting you fix it so your lights "match" more or less.
