Try these: Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Colour Paint Starter Set

The Winton oils are a good paint, and with a similar consistency to the Bob Ross oil paints.

For the Bob Ross Magic White medium, just mix a little linseed oil with Titanium White.

Once you get the hang of mixing oils, you'll be able to mix exactly like that. You literally fold the pigments together, it's so soothing. I prefer oils, but I had previously painted with acrylics for 5-6 years and enjoyed painting, but didn't enjoy how acrylic handled/dried.

I don't recommend using student-grade paint. Pros: it's cheaper and it's sold in starter-packs/sets. Cons: It's cheaper, lol, and that's reflected in the quality of the hues (pigments, colors). I do recommend using Windsor & Newton, I personally use mostly their Artist Series, but I have a few from their Winton Series and stragglers from other brands - I'll get into that more later. If you don't buy a set to start I recommend: 37ML sized Primary Colors, and a HUGE (200ML) one of Titanium White. Also try to get 2 tones of Black (ex: Ivory, Mars or Lamp), they will help with warmth in the tiniest amounts.

One thing I always do, and might be something to consider, is to build your oil paint collection by buying oil paints on eBay. People are always clearing out sets for any reason under the sun and it's a cheaper way to stock up on lightly used, surprisingly complete palettes that usually have a nice mix of brands to try out. (Different brands also use different types of oils within their pigments, so you might end up liking another brand more). Sets on ebay sometimes come with other random supplies too, like brushes or different types of oils to use--- Here's an example search!

The last thing I recommend is GO GREEN! Use a piece of cut glass or plexiglass as a mixing-palette instead of paper. Here's a creative How-To. I have glass palettes that range from 11"x14" to 18"24". Mine are just cut glass (they'll cut it at home depot but I do it myself), a piece of scrap wood that's at least an inch thick with the same dimensions as the glass, and then I paint one of the sizes of the wood white (gesso or white spray-paint) or light grey, wait for it to dry, and duck tape the glass panel to the side of the wood I painted, and cover all the edges completely with duck tape. It'll cost like $10-12. If you're working on a glass palette to mix colors you'll need to get razor blades (yes it's weird to just have them), to help mix colors and clear/clean the surface of the glass. --- And don't use windex or glass cleaner on it.

You'll also become a little glass container hoarder (think baby food things), because you can store your paint thinner, turpentine, or colors in them to use later.

And as tempting as it is don't eat while you paint with oils, or use your fingers to paint, that's how artists have gone insane throughout history-- absorbing it through their skin or accidentally consuming it.

I use these paints after I ran out of the ones that came with the master set and have been happy with the quality: https://www.amazon.com/Winsor-Newton-Winton-Colour-Paint/dp/B002E9GUZ4/

They might not have the exact same consistency as the Bob Ross paints but that hasn't been an issue. And they're a heck of a lot cheaper!
