My friends and I do a weekly board game night but once a month we get together at my house and have a multi player ouya night. It usually has a much larger turnout than normal board game nights.
Everyone loves Towerfall, Hidden in plain sight, duck game, and now Toto Temple. I would say it's totally worth it.
I have 2 ouya controllers and two xbox controllers. I use a usb hub for the xbox controllers. We used to have issues with the ouya controllers but now I bought this Wifi Bridge and have very little issues now plus the ouya is super fast.
I would recommend getting one if you have a group of friends like mine who love to get together and play games in the same place.

The LAN port should show up as a normal Ethernet connection so it should just work as the Pi has built in Ethernet drivers of course.
Might want to find a good brand/well reviewed model though.
This is probably your best bet (or something similar). Basically, you power it with the USB port and plug it into the Ethernet port, and it creates a wifi to ethernet bridge. The cheaper one(s) need to be initially set up on a PC or other device that let's you add a wifi network (the one I have can only store one network at a time), but I think you could probably get all the settings you need from say your phone and plug them in, or use your phone as a hotspot and thus only need the one wifi connection. I think higher priced models will allow you to connect just as if it was a regular wifi card/dongle. I've got the cheapy one which is fine for around my house. I wold just need to manually add or change the DNS settings and such if I wanted to connect to another wifi which can be done through a web interface.
I completed a virtually identical project back in December and used one of these to connect the station to my WiFi: VONETS WiFi Bridge.
However, given the distance you're stating, that probably won't work even if you have clear line of sight between the station and the AP.
If it's in your budget, you'll probably want to put an ECB350 in AP Client mode and connect a directional antenna to it. A 9 dBi Yagi would probably work perfectly: like this. The ECB350 uses SMA antenna connections, so if you decide on a different antenna, ensure you get one with a SMA connector.
