If you're looking for something a bit thinner and more portable, maybe look into the Gigabyte Aero 15. It only has a GTX 1060, but it's one of the more sleek and slim options on the market. It has some incredibly thin bezels and weighs in at just 4.6 lbs. It also has a Quad Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16gb of ram, and a 512gb SSD. It also only has a 1080p display though. This is the only option I've listed that will have a pretty good battery life.

An higher end option that is also thin and light with a GTX 1080 is the Asus Zephyrus but it's above your budget at $1900. It's also a MAX-Q 1080, which is a GTX 1080 that throttles itself to refrain from overheating. The performance is still quite a bit better than a 1070, but just not quite up to normal 1080 standard. It's required to make a laptop this thin and light with such a powerful GPU.

Finally, you could look into the Aorus X5 for $1950 which comes with an i7-6820HK processor, GTX 1070, 16gb Ram, 256gb SSD + 1TB HDD, and has a 1440p IPS display. It's decently light and doesn't have a major gamer aesthetic as well.

Finally, if you want a 4K display, maybe consider the EVGA SC17 for $2350. It also has an overclocked Skylake i7-6820HK processor, 32gb ram, and a GTX 1070 dGPU. It won't be as portable as other options since it's a 17.3'' and weighs in at 9.0 lbs.

The 14inch Razer blade is your best bet for portability and performance, comes at a cool 1900USD.

There is the HP Omen 15inch, which has a bit less performance and portability but will save you a lot of cash at only 1000USD.

The Aurous 15 seems to be on sale at amazon. It is at 1800USD and has the same portability and even better performance than the Razer Blade.

There is also the acer predator that hits the mark on your budget at 1500, a little less portable than the Razer Blade and Aurous but has pretty good performance. Amazon Link

I hope that helps! :)

That Eurocom could be a good choice, just know that the offered 4K 3840x2160 display option is RG/BW Pentile.

RG/BW Pentile displays replace each RGB pixel with either only RG or only BW, a practice often considered to be deceptive and to mean the display is not truly the resolution it's sold as. The display requires a full 3840x2160 picture from the GPU, but downsamples it to less than 3K 2880x1620's worth of effective chromatic detail.

I think a 3K 2880x1620 display such as the one in the Aorus X5 would have been a better option for Clevo/Sager/Eurocom to have provided.

I would only buy it with that option if you are 100% ok with that.

That might be the closest thing you will find. Check out a review here.

Or if you want to spend some more, you can get a GTX 1070.

Hello, I will recommend this one. It has a M.2 NVMe PCIe 256GB SSD for your programs and 1TB 7200rpm HDD for photo storage.

Only other alternatives with good battery life are the Razer Blade and the Aorus X5 V6, although the Aorus battery life is still on the low side (about 4 to 5 hours) but it packs a GTX1070 (which performance is similar the the GTX1080-MaxQ) while the Razer Blade has a GTX1060

Hey man thanks for looking it up, that's the same specs I'm looking at on Amazon. Any idea who delivers better in terms of replacement just in case? I checked the link on newegg and saw the reviews from owners that had problems with their units which I didn't saw on amazon. Not sure if it has something to do with Newegg as a reseller?

If you want best value for money then I would recommend this Prostar Clevo P650HS-G because it comes with everything you need , i7 quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 8 GB of ram for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 128GB for faster boot up and loading, 1 TB of HDD for storage, Full HD IPS screen which is a must have for this price range, high build quality, very good heat management, 1070 GPU which is great for this price point and it is within your budget.

If you prefer lighter weight and welling to pay premium for it then I would go with this one.
