An extra $200 for ~5% performance? Uh, wat. You can get a reference card (that's likely using better power delivery and board design) and a water block for less money.

There is a promotion code (BANCOLOMBIA2) showing up on rx 5700xt on amazon.com that says 10% off for $50+, but when i click on the details it's showing me that details about the promotion is unavailable at this time and it doesn't work when I try it on check out. Any you guys know about this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TB5FBV6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

AIB = Add-In-Board, or partners of AMD (Sapphire, PowerColor, XFX, ASUS, Gigabyte, etc.) have their own axial fan cooled heatsinks on their graphics cards, an example is a Sapphire Pulse. AIB cards exhaust their heat into your case to be picked up by your exhaust fan and any passive airholes.

A reference model is simply the default/first model of the card available from AMD. All the partners sell these as well, and they typically come equipped with a blower fan which blows its accumulated heat out of your chassis. Good choice for cramped builds such as Small Form Factor.

No worries, I like procrastinating from getting work done, and reddit is a great outlet haha.

Yea I didn't realize that it was out of stock currently. Not sure if that will change soon. I have a hard time paying $470 for a regular 2070 with the Super cards out. That's pretty much the next step down though.

The other possible card is the AMD 5700xt. It's roughly equal to the 2070 performance(they trade lead depending on the game, it also beats 2070 super in a few titles). The big perk about this card is it costs $399 and has the performance of the more expensive nvidia cards. The downside with this card is that it's only available with the reference cooler right now, and because of this it gets loud and hot. In roughly 2 weeks 2/3 fan versions of this card will be out.

Here's a fairly recent review between the cards:

I don't know what that term is either, so tried researching a bit, and want to know if I'm correct. So is this model AIB, whereas this is a blower?

Thanks. But that wasn’t what I found.

It’s a different brand. That’s what I meant.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TB5FBV6/ here, 399,99 bucks for the 5700XT

About the 5700, since all models are the same chipset, I suggest find the one with better cooling option, so at worst you can overclock it

This, yeah?

Thank-you again for your time and knowledge!

What's your build looking like right now?

FYI the 5700xt is a good choice. It's slightly better then the 2060 super and is on sale for a bit less

The xfx rx 5700xt has a great diacount is it worth it? Or should I still got for a saphire pulse eventhough it is 110$ more expensive?

u/crimson117 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Just searching amazon, this looks like a better price on a GTX 2060: https://www.amazon.co.uk/PNY-Geforce-Gaming-Overclocked-Graphics/dp/B07MBV163Z

A new Radeon RX 5700 or 5700 XT would also be a good buy: https://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Radeon-Graphics-GDDR5-DisplayPort/dp/B07TB5FBV6
