I got this 4 inch memory foam which is a huge beast but it's amazing. I put this mattress pad on top of it for a little bit of separation, and then I wrap the whole thing in a flat sheet since a fitted sheet won't fit over mattress + topper + pad. It's all extremely comfortable, and a lot easier than buying a whole new mattress.
