I got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006MISZOC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It's pretty amazing for the price and there's only a few bolts to even squeak. The bed it replaced had like 50 bolts and screws and drove me insane.

Honestly, a full size bed would be perfectly adequate for two, if a bit cozy. It would also buy you a little extra room when every inch counts. I'd recommend a frame like this one that would allow storage underneath. It squeaks a bit and it's definitely barebones, but it's affordable and can fold up easy for moving. I own one in a queen size and have a very small room as well.

As for the rest of the room, get a tape measure and a notepad and measure the footprints of everything in the room so you can draw a plan view of the room and play around with configurations. If casual seating is a must, I would get rid of the couch and instead get a nicer futon frame in full size that can perform double-duty.

WIth a space this size, it's all about finding multi-functional pieces and things that can be broken down quickly and tucked out of the way.

This is the one I use. Sets up in like 3 minutes and I've had 0 issues with them.

These bed frames by Zinus are great. You just have to unfold it and put the corner braces in place. No tools. Took me less than 10 minutes to do it myself. I have the 18" one and keep large Rubbermade totes under it. There's more storage under my bed than in my closet.

I highly, highly recommend this mattress foundation. I move pretty frequently and have zero storage space and this is a great solution for both of those problems.

I used to have a really heavy and large wooden futon frame, which was pretty squeaky and unnecessarily difficult to set up but I ended up buying this model off Craigslist and I'm never going back. It's pretty easy to set up, very sturdy, and it makes no noise. And the best part is that the frame itself is pretty light and compact once you break it down so it makes moving it from place to place way easier.

Can I ask you a question about foundations and bed frames ? You seem very knowledgable about the subject. What are you supposed to put a 9" natural latex mattress on ? Do you need a metal bed frame + a foundation ? Is [this] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006MISZOC/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) type of frame good for a latex mattress ?

So, bed frames meant to attach a headboard, have 2 flat brackets to attach a headboard. Since you have baseboard heat, you want any flammable materials 8 inches away from the heating unit. This also allows proper airflow so it can actually heat the room.

You can get a frame and headboard separately. You just need a frame with the bracket to mount a headboard. Zinus Compack 9-Leg Support Bed Frame, for Box Spring & Mattress Set, Full https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EYN1NT6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_D5i8Ab1TDEM7F

Many beds don't use box springs and their frames are platforms for the mattress Zinus 14 Inch SmartBase Mattress Foundation / Platform Bed Frame / Box Spring Replacement / Quiet Noise-Free / Maximum Under-bed Storage, Full https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006MISZOC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_x7i8AbVQ9TGA5

You can also buy a bed with platform frame, headboard and footboard. https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/functional/10376/16284/

I'd suggest you determine budget and style choice then look around.

Amazon.com has mattresses and box springs.

[I bought this mattress for my son (currently $190).] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LQ1RKQ/ref=twister_B004LQ1RLK)
If I could do it again, [I would purchase this platform (currently $82).] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006MISZOC/ref=twister_B00TTX4XUW) Or make your own.

For less than $272, you'd have a pretty good setup for an apartment.

With this frame.

I have the mattress directly on the frame with a sheet over the frame to protect the underside of the mattress - I'm paranoid that way. I like lower to the ground - I've noticed the high mattresses are no longer fashionable. The trend is to scandahoovian-style very low mattresses.

With the 8" mattress and frame, you'll be about 30" above the floor. There is storage space under the frame too, large enough for boxes - these frames are higher than the standard mattress frame you use with a boxspring.

Weird, the price of these has doubled since I got mine a year ago. I wonder if anybody else is less expensive? To be certain, it's this one

/r/interiordesign is not your personal shopping army. This is not an appropriate submission for this subreddit. I've removed it under rule 5.

Try /r/furniture, /r/furniture_design, /r/home, or maybe /r/designmyroom. Maybe /r/homeowners or /r/homeimprovement as well, for particular questions.

Best of luck.

That said, I personally recommend one that looks like this. Bed might slide around a bit but you can use it with a memory foam mattress (which you should get, they're very affordable) without a boxspring.

Vet different brands.

The full is even on sale for $55. I did break my toe on it by just walking but if you're less of an airhead than me you won't have an issue. It folds up and is so easy to move and assemble. Figured I'd throw it out there.

No opinion on the Ikea mattresses, and I'm not sure if this option will work for you, but I slept on this mattress for over two years and never had a bad nights sleep nor notice anything go bad. I prefer harder beds, but that one was still super comfortable (everyone loved it).
you WILL sink into this one, but still be very supported. I never felt like the mattress got overly warm, but I was in SF at the time so that probably limited how hot it could get. You don't need a foundation with that bed, so you could always get one of these.

After I moved I gave it to a friend and he thoroughly enjoys it.
