Happy birthday! You should have carrot cake with cream cheese frosting because it's amazing. Or chocolate with chocolate-mint icing. Mmm.
If I win I'd love this!
Happy Happy Joy Joy!
Thank you for the contest!
Awesome! Which do you like most? For starters, do you use last.fm? I'm justabaldguy on there and that has a lot of the more electronic/chill stuff. I've found a LOT of great artists on there, including free downloads. If you sign up (free) and add me as a friend you can see my tastes. Very good way to learn new artists. I use that site daily when grading and doing online work.
If you want more progressive rock, my current new favorite is certainly In the Silence. A brand spankin' new band with just one album and (last time I checked) they don't even have a Wikipedia page! 3 is a good band too, especially The Ghost You Gave to Me. I am OBSESSED with Anathema though. Weather Systems is absolutely HAUNTING. Beautiful vocals, love the male and female duet on the second track. UN. REAL.
The Strange Case of... by Halestorm. I've only had it for a few days, but it's completely amazing. Awesome vocals, great music, super catchy. It's all good, so I don't really have a favorite!

|name|Linkin Park|
|about artist|Linkin Park is an American band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth greatest band of the music video era and the third best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Coldplay. My coolest item would either be this or this I don't know both have some pretty trippy artwork
NSFW story
as for a story (well I still laugh every time I think about it) this happened recently. So I had my first gig with my band last sunday and only our friends showed up (it was at the worst bar in town) and we played death metal but on the last song we played the song I got erection (a funny punk song) and we made up funny lyrics like: every time I get an erection lasting longer than 4 hours....ERECTION!...ok well you get the point we just made up the stupidest lyrics then when the song ended my friends got up on the stage and every one of them just said erection into the microphone.....I know I have a teenager mentality. I can think of some better stories if anyone wants...
Opiate: $12.59
Lost my first copy I got at a record store in the 90's, re-bought this on Amazon.
Undertow: [$16.98](http://www.amazon.com/Undertow-Vinyl-Tool/dp/B000000992/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346420953&sr=8-1&keywords=tool+vinyl
&qid=1346420953&sr=8-4&keywords=tool+vinyl)
I bought in '95 at a local record shop in PA. Easily available on Amazon.
Ænima:$300 / $50
Original prints are $300+ on Ebay
The knockoff that I have sell cheaper on Ebay
Lateralus: $38.99
bought from ToolArmy, didn't have the cash to get the $150 signed one
at the time. Not too expensive on Ebay right now.
10,000 Days: $49.99
Never released by the band only knockoffs available on Ebay
Salival: $69.99
Also never officially released. I don't have one of these, but knockoffs available on Ebay. Too expensive for a knockoff. I'm happy just having my original VHS copy.
$238.54 gets you all the knockoffs. If you want the 4 originals it'll be $368.56
Hope that helps.
If I get to choose, the Ghost - Opus Eponymous vinyl would be my biggest wish (if vinyl is acceptable)! Ghost is one of my favorite bands, and one of the few bands I like that aren't from the 70's or the 80's :P This is their debut album. I already own their second album Infestissumam on vinyl, which is a epic record! I highly recommend it!
Sadly, since I don't live in a "Amazon country" (US or UK or other) I can't have mp3's on my list :/ So if I win one of those you just have to pick someone else :D
I love music!
Also, is your username inspired by Iron Maiden? :P
NIN / Trent Reznor
Listen, specifically, to their instrumental album Ghosts:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyKNUj-AjgA
If you like it, please buy it from them:
http://store.nin.com/
or
http://www.amazon.com/Ghosts-I-Nine-Inch-Nails/dp/B0015FQZ94/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410801779&sr=8-1&keywords=nin+ghosts
Trent has released free album(s) before as a gesture of thanks to his fans, so actually buying this (if you love it) is a good thing to do.
My favorite band since I first heard Pretty Hate Machine in my youth, I have grown up alongside this amazing, talented, haunted composer...NIN has been the soundtrack to my life.
Hey, for anyone still wondering, here's the link and a pic of the order confirmation: http://imgur.com/a/wWe95
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M984V1H/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I went straight through Amazon, so I must've gotten lucky as it seems they've raised the price. I really hope the third party sellers are actually selling vinyls, not CDs, as I researched here before buying too and saw that a few months ago it was a mistaken listing. Good luck to everyone, I hope it works out
Short Music for Short People, it's a compilation, but its pretty awesome and super fast. Fat Wreck put it out.
http://www.amazon.com/Short-Music-People-Various-Artists/dp/B00000J631/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407126432&sr=8-1&keywords=short+songs+for+short+people
Yeah, I looked earlier just to see what I would have been able to get if I had ordered it from Amazon. Well, I have bad news for anyone ordering right now:

"Usually ships within 3 to 5 days."

This is as shipped and sold by Amazon.
iRobot is a personal favorie. Anything from Disney/Pixar (especially Wall E) is amazing. Kung Fu Panda does a great job. if you are into the bands, the Nine Inch Nails "Beside You in Time" Blu Ray is gorgeous as well as Metallica's "Francais Pour Une Nuit"
everyone that i listed will also give your surround sound a solid work out if you have it set up
You might not know of them, but 21 Pilots is a pretty rad band and one of my favorite albums by them is on vinyl!
A linkin Park CD for me!
What up doe
Yup. It's the Audio-DVD of Reanimation. Mine looks like this one.
Huh, didn't realize it seems to be a collectors type thing now. I do remember it being more expensive, 'cause DVD (at the time), but soooo worth it. Lets put it this way, After the opening you get Pts.OF.Athrty, which just kinda spins around your head. It's imo a really awesome and unique experience to the music.
Not sure if you’ve got an original or why it was so expensive but I’ve seen re-issue laturalus picture disc gatefolds for $30-$40 at local record stores and guitar centers. I found one for $28 on amazon.
You could get a record frame for $15 at a craft store like michaels or Joan’s.
Still really cool though!!!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005BGV2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UFt3Cb2T1HFDP
Fantastic song from a fantastic album. If you like this, also check out their previous album, We're Here Because We're Here.
I was just watching some of my favorite parts of a documentary called A Band Called Death. If you haven't seen it, watch it! It's on Netflix. Death was a fuckin' awesome band and way ahead of their time.
Watch the movie and buy their album! Do it!
For anyone looking for a copy I'm pretty sure they're still printing it (along with Undertow and Lateralus, unlike Ænima). You can get it on Amazon for pretty cheap.
> limited edition
Love me some Tool, but whoever on their team called this a "limited edition" is a huge dick. Popular albums with great music on them that were released 12 years ago and are actually limited should not still be available for purchase from a retail store: https://www.amazon.ca/Lateralus-Vinyl-Tool/dp/B00005BGV2/ref=sr_1_1_twi_lp__2?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094553&sr=8-1&keywords=lateralus
NIN - Broken
It is a truly charged album full of energy that does not ever disappoint me. Any time I play Pinion I know that I'm going to finish the album. In an interview Trent Reznor was asked about his lyrics from 'Wish' and said that his epitaph should read: "REZNOR: Died. Said 'fist fuck', won a Grammy."
There is also a music video that goes with the whole album from start to finish. It is truly brutal nightmare fuel. NOT SAFE FOR WORK/LIFE
My favourite song with Red in it is...Red, by Taylor Swift.
I would like this if I win, do I get bonus points for the background being a mixure of red and white? And they're American so that's gotta be patriotic...^right^guys?
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit and anything from their Unplugged album
Pear Jam - Alive, Jeremy
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Eve6 - Inside Out
Cake - The Distance
Fastball - The Way
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits
Deep Blue Something - Breakfast At Tiffany's
Stone Temple Pilots - Vasoline, Creep
Guns N' Roses - November Rain
I recommend Broken [EP]. Only 8 songs, but they're some of my favorites (and the packaging is kickass).
Yes they are: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KZ4MVLL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KZfACbFR0FK4N
From the last line of the description: “This version is the Special Edition Digipak”
decibel
this would be great!
If you're in america this is the music collection which is the two disc set of all the songs, plus OP/ED, plus previously the stuff that wasn't on the previous OST releases. Bluray wise you can't go wrong as long as you get blurays of the TV show, there's no multiple versions of that thankfully
I thought that it was the album cover for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Greatest Hits album.
https://amzn.com/B0000C1733
Sexual favors aside, I would want This. HOWEVER, most people are not rich, so I'm just gonna say get him a record player, and some of the vinyls, some beer/wine from Caduceus cellars/whatever he drinks, and a shirt (you can never have too many, but if he has some already, try to get one that looks moderately different from the others, such as a white one or one with an entirely different design). All in all, this gift should run in at about $100-150, depending on what you get specifically. Hope this helps
I bought this one right here on Amazon for roughly 40 bucks. As far as I can tell, it has just about everything awesome from the show itself. Nothing from the movies, though.
There's this
Box Set [10 LP]
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01M984V1H/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_fAW3ybNAWE3DS
It has everything except California.
Make sure you check the other sellers for the best price. Shoot for around $30-45.
Lend? It's 8 bucks here; 7.99 here; 7.25 here; and $5.49 here. It's well worth the purchase.
Always loved this release. Krwling still gives me goosebumps to this day. The 5.1 surround mix is absolutely incredible.
You can get the Ultimate Best album, though it is a bit light on the number of songs. It's on Amazon for ¥ 3,263 (just under $30) and ships internationally, but you might be able to find it somewhere else for less, especially if you find a used one, like this one from Mandarake
Or you could go for the show's full soundtrack, for a few dollars more on Amazon, but you'd miss out on anything from the movies.
As far as I can tell, those are the only things that have been released as standalones. There were CDs included with the BD and DVDs, but it's not easy to find those by themselves. I'd say go for the show's soundtrack because of the number of songs you get on it.
Yes indeed it is. You can buy this album from various retailers.
This album is a bit, hmmm, "sophomoric" (in my opinion), but fantastic nonetheless. It's got a great opener and closer, plus a few gems in between. There's only really one track that I don't like (Freakin' Out) and it's largely because they used it on "How I Met Your Mother" - and that ruined it for me.
Now, this was their debut - imagine if they had been signed by someone and given the opportunity to develop their work and their sound. That shit would've been fucking cash. All the lost potential.
Just bought the album off of Amazon, after listening to one song. Yes, they rock.

Opvs Eponymovs - Purple Colored Vinyl https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0041KOVNW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_27zTCbVXAWJ5V
For $1 more you can have pretty purple wax
I'd love this!
Water. I'm boring and drink water 99% of the time.
autumn
You haven't heard of Ghosts, have you?
It's...interesting lol
Did the FI CD cost you something like $45/50 bucks?
Is there any real news on the re-presses of their older albums, in the future?
Also OP, might wanna snag this while you're at it.

Lenses are a billion percent necessary for a DIY Rift. Along with the fact that you'll have a very small field of view, the software also warps the image for the lenses, therefore it'd be practically useless without lenses.
I can see why your family would think spending 20 bucks on cardboard is silly. Seeing how you don't want to order online, the only other place I can suggest getting a pair of lenses under 10 bucks is your local music shop. Really. Does your family think you like Tool? Because Tool's album "10,000 days" comes with two stereoscopic lenses. Check your local music shops for a new copy of the album with the lenses, and boom, you have your lenses.
Hope this helps!
Ahhh well, in that case it's cheaper on Amazon right now if you have prime...https://www.amazon.com/Lateralus-Vinyl-Tool/dp/B00005BGV2/ref=ice_ac_b_dpb_twi_lp__2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497898628&sr=8-1&keywords=lateralus
No order;
Battle of Mice - A Day of Nights (easily my favorite female vocalist), Zodiak - Sermons, Tool - Lateralus, Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, and Deftones - White Pony.
I could keep going though.
>it seems like there's little interest to support it like any other data carrier or format.
Possibly because they want to avoid piracy and/or have a restricted control on the format..
>do you know if one can buy the OST CD somewhere?
This exists for the series. But for Rebellion, the only OST CD mentioned is the one sold with the "limited" edition (it's just the only physical copy that existed at the nearest general tech store from my home to me lol).
Also note that the Rebellion OST CD somehow does not include the movie opening and ending (neither the cake song if that counts)..
>In that case, they should've let "wraith" untranslated.
Spectre exists as a valid translation and it sounds terrible to pronounce wraith with French. I just think they had no idea what they were talking about in that scene..
>An absolutely irresistible strategy.
Indeed.. Just like Kyubey, the Law of Cycles stood no chance..
>Yuuki Aoi is an outstanding voice actress however, her voice very diverse
Her other role I mostly observed is the recent one of Tanya the evil (didn't watch though) where you can straight up hear her saying in the ending that "Humans are useless no matter the side", are "only worth something in death" or even "pilling up bodies until it reaches the sky".
Self sacrifice she said.. Because she had to she said.Characters I really love in anime like Homura are often only mostly known for that "chosen one" role.. Not much of a complication until you realize Chiwa stared in an obscure harem anime you watched a long time ago when you were bored.
The 20% over $65 would help this price but overal it’s cheaper on amazon and has been for awhile
Short music for Short People: 101 bands Playing 30 seconds Songs
10,000 Days album cover
Seeing as that's the cover for one of their albums, it's reasonable to assume it's possibly Tool related. The back of the album continues the artwork as you can see the top half of the tattoo image as the back cover.

Of those 11-13 songs - TWO were brand new tracks, ONE was a brand new drum solo, and THREE others (Intolerance, Sweat, and Part of Me) have been extremely rare cuts over the last decade (or more).
So going into the most recent tour, chances were 100% that out of the 11-13 songs they were going to play, you were going to get no less than 3 new songs you’d never heard before (period) and almost 100% that you’d get a 4th song you’d at least never heard live before.
Seriously. You can't post this without a link. All I see is a $171 set.
Edit: I found the original post linking to this, but it's over $80 now.
Couldn't resist. Anyways, here's the real link to the Lateralus LP.
I clarified that it's for Lateralus because our bond of trust has been broken.
If by look for it you mean go to amazon.
The ost already has its own separate release, which you can find here. I just got it myself last month.
Just order it from Amazon.
All of the music is from the KnK OST. I frequently use that and the Madoka OST as background music when I'm working, so I recognize all of it.
