Yeah, I avoid those with my dog too, he's not a fan either!
There's about 20 different loops, only a few with thunder.

Here's a link to the list - Thunderstorm and Distant Thunderstorm are the only ones I know that have thunder in them. City, which I like a lot (we moved to the 'burbs from Brooklyn, this actually helped US sleep) does have an occasional dog bark too, FYI.

Open the app on your phone and see what app it opened to do it. When I did it, it opened this one, which notes that you can specify a duration, like “Alexa, play white noise for three hours.”

u/jcumb3r · 2 pointsr/amazonecho

I pay for “white noise” premium (link) which is a competing skill. After playing with 5-6 apps and trying to find one that would seamlessly loop pink noise for 8+ hours for free, I gave up and paid.

The white noise skill does a bunch of other sounds too. I could admittedly buy a white noise machine for the cost of what it’ll run me over 12-18 months... but that’s one more think on the bedside table. ~$2 a month is worth if for me.

Sleep & Relaxation Sounds. (Alexa, open Sleep Sounds)

I tried entering the Alexa world... Much work for just 10 reviews in 6 month time, including two bad ones... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PQ33HV6. Not keen to integrate other platforms. I mainly do to please my users, but more and more I feel like I should stick to the website version.

I use Sleep Sounds: White Noise skill by Invoked Aps LLC everynight. Once I asked to loop that sound for 5 h and Alexa offered subscription - 1£ per month. I just said yes and that's it.
You can find that skill in Alexa App on your mobile phone and subscribe over there.

Edit:

You can enable this skill on Amazon site but if you want to subscribe you need to do this in your mobile app.

I use this skill:

It plays all night for me.

That isn’t a feature they’ve built. That’s what gives. Song keeper for spotify Will do what you want. It’s not ideal but it works. Upside is that it works even if Spotify is playing on something besides an Echo.

This is the one I use that has lots of different sounds and I’ve had it play all night before so it definitely doesn’t pause or anything.

Normally I set a sleep timer for it to stop after a few hours.

There's actually a WWOZ app, but unfortunately no livewire flash briefing

u/blu3bird17 · 1 pointr/alexa

From what I’ve read, it’s the crappy coding of the skill on the SiriusXM side. Reviews of the app seem to show a lot of people having the problem.
