Check out the beards subreddit.

I've had a beard for about a couple years now. Here's my advice to any Muslim who just started:

General Islaamic Tips
-

  • Remember Allaah is rewarding you for doing so. If people are making fun of you, Allaah will reward you for your patience.
  • Get ready for Muslims to tell you to shave it off, or "just cut it from the sides a little bit."
  • Get ready to be called "Shaykh."
  • Get ready for everyone to think you're fluent in Arabic. And if you're not, get ready for them to turn into animals and get angry you're growing a beard but don't know Arabic.
  • Remember that the pagans and idol worshipers grow their mustaches and shave their beards. You're countering them in their movement, expressing to them and to Allaah your disapproval for their Shirk and their people and Allaah loves that.
  • Memorize the proofs for growing the beard. Because Muslims debate you and get angry and say it's not required.
  • Remember that what is above the eyes and below the chin is permissible to trim.

    Grooming Tips
    -
  • When sleeping on your side, remember to have your beard touching the pillow in a way that when you wake up, it doesn't mess it up.
  • Use beard oil. It keeps it shiny and good looking, and a tiny bit straighter. This is a good one.
  • If you want more straight hair, use beard balm. This is a good one.
  • Use scissors to cut the extra long hairs. Extra long hairs that grow separate from the other hairs make the beard look messy. If you keep those trimmed, your beard will look beautiful. Trimming the beard after a fist length is part of the Sunnah of the companions.
  • Remember to look at your beard from the side too when grooming on the morning.
  • Remember to Shampoo it just like you shampoo your normal hair.
  • I don't remember the source, but I read that what is below the jaw line and above the eyes is permissible to cut (since it's not part of the beard).

    Good Online Tools
    -
  • /r/beards for emotional support.
  • Good YouTube channels:
  • The Beard Baron
  • Beard Brand
  • Al-Albaanee's beard debate.

    Other Tips
    -
  • If food bits falls into your beard, simple patting or hitting on the beard takes them out.
  • Get ready for compliments. "Nice beard, bro!"

May Allaah make the beard easy for you and give you a great experience!

Did you try any OTC anti-fungal products like this one?

http://www.amazon.com/FungiCure-Instant-Anti-Fungal-Treatment-Strength/dp/B000KPM8E6

This product can claim to treat fungal skin infections according to the FDA because the active ingredient is an effective topical anti-fungal. (The active ingredient can also be used internally.)There are other brands besides that one; the stuff will cost you less than $10. Fungicure is sold in some Walmart stores.

Hey, you can try home remedies or natural Toe nail eliminator. It's really effective and i have also tried this. This is made form natural ingredients and safe for use. If you want then you can buy here.

I really want these I've never been gifted because I'm not on when a lot of contests go on and can't gift right now. [but I got a job today so I might start!] I really would love these cause I work with clay and make charms and they would be so useful. x.x random story of random~

Hahaha. Sorry about your table mate, and thanks for the heads up. I will avoid said product. I already got a cool room vaporizer that had a blue LED in it and does either water or water with scents in it.

I'm aware of the price on Amazon, I only paid $5 for mine.

I take Nested prenatal multivitamins. You just need one a day and I take it on an empty (and very sensitive) stomach every morning with no issues! I love them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00U040XOO

I did a bit of Googling. It's not just scientists who diaphanise and stain their samples, amateur taxidermists do it too, so it's feasible.

I found this link. Let's break down what you'd need:

Hydrogen Peroxide can be bought in any large chemist's e.g. Boots, Superdrug.

Potassium Hydroxide can be got quite cheaply at the linked website.

Lab Grade 95% Ethanol has been denatured, which means it's poisonous and so can be sold without alcohol tax. That website's in America, but it should be about a similar price, although getting lab grade ethanol as a member of the public could be tricky.

Glacial acetic acid (anhydrous acetic acid) isn't massively expensive. Again that website's only in America (Sigma Aldrich seem to have discontinued glacial acetic acid for some reason) but it looks to be about £12

Alcian Blue for the cartilage - 10g for £112.

Alizarin Red for the bones - 25g for about £60.

Trypsin is an enzyme and you're looking at about £35 for 100µg.

Glycerin can be picked up in a chemist's quite cheaply although the Japanese guy linked above seems to recommend using medical grade glycerin instead of regular glycerin if you spill some of his artwork.

Sodium borate or "borax" can also be gotten ahold of quite cheaply from a chemist's or supermarket.

Thymol is about £20.

Then you'll need pipettes, syringes and lab ware to do this, having already spent well over £250 on reagents that won't last very long and will probably be wasted on the first couple of attempts because you have to make buffers and if you don't quite get each step right the specimen falls apart. Also it will take several weeks.

Alternatively you could just buy a pre-diaphonised wet sample, like this diaphonised rat that is selling for about £65, although you can't really ship wet samples out of a country so if you're not in America you'll have to keep searching. You know, all this searching has kinda made me want to buy a wet sample for decoration.

I take this prenatal, and it has probiotics in it!

I have been taking these since January. Kinda made me queasy at first but I take them on empty stomachs every day (not by choice, just by schedule). My SO & Step son got a REAL BAD cold the last couple weeks and I was fine! I swear it was these lol.

I'm taking Nested Naturals and I like them quite a bit. I normally have trouble with multis but I can take these on an empty stomach with no problem. And they aren't too hard to swallow.
