🎓 Reddit experts on pc-compatible games software
Choosing the best pc compatible game software? The ultimate guide
With the number of gamers increasing by the millions each year, gaming companies are at their peak. We get it; pc gaming is problematic. Unlike console gaming, if you have an old pc or a laptop with a weak graphic card, there’s a high possibility that modern games wouldn’t work on your desktop.
It is essential to check everything before you spend your hard-earned cash on game software. So what should I do?
Here is the ultimate guide you should consider before buying a game.
Checking your pc specifications manually
It would help if you always considered checking your pc manually before opting to buy the desired game software. The more you know about your hardware, the easier it is.
What should I specifically check for? Your CPU speed, RAM, and the details of your graphic card. If you have a laptop, you can check it online by typing in your specific model. There are various ways you can check the details of your hardware on a pc.
One of the easiest ways to check it is to install a freeware utility software called Speccy. It shows all the information about the hardware and software on your computer.
Compare the requirements needed to run the game with the specs you have
Before buying a game, check the requirements needed to run it. It is not rocket science to figure out if it is compatible with your pc or not, but if you want to make it precisely clear to you, you can have your computer do all of it for you.
You need to run a desktop app called the System Requirements Lab, which analyzes your computer hardware for free. Then all you need to do is visit the Can You Run It website, type in the game software’s name on the search box, and you can check if it is compatible or not.
The end
Making sure you have the correct requirements before spending money on game software is necessary. We hope this short guide helps.
All my favorite gaming memories are with my dad, who passed away when I was little. He would get computer games from time to time and we'd both sit at the computer and play them. Some of our favorites were Quake and Quake II. I remember we even bought all the expansion packs for Quake II, haha.
We mostly played PC games, but he bought me the PS2 right when it came out for my birthday. It was my first console! Man, we played the crap out of that thing and it's still works perfectly today. We both loved Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex, the Army Men games (Sarge's Heroes, anyone??), and Portal Runner, which was a spin-off of the Army Men games. Tomb Raider, Jak and Daxter, and MDK2: Armageddon were also favorites! We just had a great time gaming together and bonding and all that good stuff.
To this day, the PS2 is still my favorite console. So many great games and memories! =)
I'm still a kid at heart! Thanks for the contest, and HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY!
Oh yeah, the links:
Well, I really want Tomb Raider, but it's a download, so I'd reeeeealy like a gift card for that, if that is okay with you. =) If it needs to add up to $31, I believe there are some game things on my wishlist that will help add up to that! Feel free to surprise me! =D
Hey,
As wonderful as FFXIV is as a game, please please keep your own real-world logistics as priorities, and enjoy the game responsibly. :)
That said.
If you bought CE on steam, you probably only bought the base edition of the game for what looks like $32 on steamprices. You did get some in-game cosmetic items, though.
Personally, I'd try to refund the CE on steam, and then buy the game from amazon, which has a good deal right now: https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Heavensward-Reborn-Bundle/dp/B00UO4NL9Y This version does not have the fun in-game cosmetic items, but it does have the expansion (normally, buying the base game "ARR" and the expansion "HW" costs $20 each, for a total of $40).
This nets you more playable content if you decide to play, and you also save a bit of money!
I can more or less guarantee that you probably won't miss the in-game items the CE gives. And if you later decide, in a better financial state, that you do want them, you can pay the difference for them via Mog Station, the FFXIV account management site: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/mogstation/
A few other things...
...
Depending on how many hours/wk you can play, I'd say 2 months is a pretty good amount of time to play it. The core story (it's a very story-based game, and the writing is excellent, especially later on) takes 70-100 hours to complete. Lategame gearing to the current patch takes 10-30 hours to complete. There's tons of other side content, and to briefly experience most of it will take another 100-200 hours. There's very grindy content that can easily last 200-400 hours if you're interested, but that's a niche thing.
I know I wrote a lot, so feel free to ask followup questions. :)
My favorite game is... generally an RPG or puzzle game (it kind of changes, depending on how I am feeling). Morrowind, Pokemon Yellow, Dragon Age, and Papo & Yo will always have a special place in my heart though.
Civ V: I really want to play this game with my SO. He loves it, and he thinks it is right up my alley (since I love strategy games, and loved playing Risk). We live about two hours by bus away from each other, and he plays Civ more than anything else right now. It would be nice to have virtual date nights, where we can destroy (or help) each other and other countries, in the name of entertainment!
OR Diablo III: I love, love, love Diablo. It's fun, the world is immense and awesome, and the bosses are great! It's great to explore, and kill monsters, AND SO MANY other things.
I would be beyond thrilled to get either of these games, as both are ones I have wanted for awhile! For PC games, it is best to buy new, since most require a code to let you install it now.
Actually I wasn't in the Wrong here is how it ended:
Hi ManUpstairz,
Kyle, our evening supervisor, forwarded me this ticket (actually both of the chats), so I wanted to get back in touch with you regarding your question. Let me start of by saying I do completely understand what you are asking for, at least I hope I do. From what you said, my understanding is that you would like to order the digital collector's edition of TERA from the En Masse web site, so that you get early access and the digital pre-order bonus items (Frostlion mount and two necklaces). Like me, you prefer to have an actual box on you shelf for games you have purchased, so you asked if we could send you a boxed copy of the standard edition when it is released. Also, you are not interested in the tangible items that are included with the Physical Collector's Edition.
I did see that your account had access to the 4th closed beta, but I went ahead and got you set up for this weekend's closed beta, as well as the upcoming open beta. I also believe I have a solution that will take care of your request. Since we only offer the digital versions of TERA on the En Masse Store (the Physical Collector's edition is sold out), your best bet is to pre-order the standard edition physical copy from one of our pre-order retail partners. The link for the Amazon page is below.
http://www.amazon.com/Tera-Online-Pc/dp/B002I0HJG8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333467051&sr=8-1
Pre-ordering the game from here will get you early access to live servers (3 days before launch), and in-game bonus items (Level 10 City Wheel Earrings, Level 35 Seren's Sand Ring, and Armored Pinto in-game mount). You will also get the actual box and disk shipped to you when it is released on May 1st. Amazon will email you a code within a few days of the purchase, which you would then apply to your TERA account through our web page, It will change your account status from Trial to Standard.
Since you are also interested in the digital items that come with the collector's edition of TERA, we do offer an upgrade through the TERA online store, http://store.enmasse.com. We offer an upgrade to the Digital Collector's Edition for $9.99, and it grants all of the digital items that come with the collector's edition. When you order this, you will receive another code to apply to your account through the TERA web site. This will change your account status from Standard to Collector's.
My hope is this is the solution to your inquiry. Early access, the digital items from the collector's edition, and a physical box and disk to put on your shelf. If there is anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thanks, and enjoy the beta this weekend!

Yeah, I know the feeling.
Keep trying to do things right and you'll eventually end up at the MMR level where you belong. You were gone so long that your MMR surely reset.
Do your best to communicate with your team (I still sometimes need that Tryndamere to type "i'm going to splitpush now, pls pressure the map elsewhere and don't follow me" before it clicks in my head what I'm supposed to do). I know that some people don't understand or want to work together, and it's frustrating.
For me, I have a lot more fun/success/coordination when I play with other people that I know or at least have played with before. When I get matched into a game with someone who works well with me, or a whole team even, I'll ask if anyone wants to play another game afterwards and send out friend invites. That's gotten me a pretty good pool of people to play with.
I was lucky enough that a bunch of my favorite people to play with from 2+ years ago still play (and now they're better than ever). Plus, a lot of them had new friends, so we've got a pretty robust network most of the time.
Also, if you're in USA, I saw this posted on this sub - you can buy a free thing from Amazon, link it to your account, and you get a bunch of 450 IP champs for free (if you don't already own them all) and some IP and XP boosts: http://www.amazon.com/League-Legends-Starter-Pack-Instant/dp/B01AMD7HSW/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1454101487&sr=1-2&keywords=league+of+legends
LOL. I'll leave D3 being the best D2 experience at your opinion. One which few will agree with, even amongst supporters of D3. My personal opinion is that D3 is a shallow casualized shell of D2 with little in the way of actual customization by comparison. It's fun for a little while, but doesn't have the lasting value or brilliant execution, but that's just personal opinion. But I can 100% say with a complete certainty that the story was terrible and 90% of the improvements to Diablo 3 did not come form the expansion but were an update to the base game, so to give the expansion credit for all of the changed included in that update to the base game is not accurate.
It was a $20 expansion sold at $40.
Even the positive review lampoons it for being overpriced and content light while having almost all the improvements as part of the normal game's update: http://smile.amazon.com/Diablo-III-Reaper-Souls-PC-Mac/product-reviews/B00FENJVOE/ref=sr_1_1_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
Saying that D3 improved to a good state is fair. Calling the expansion itself good? That's a bit of a stretch there, you're giving credit to the expansion for things it did not do which even the supporters of the game considered overpriced. You're review in that light, as well as many others, shows just how easy it is to manipulate the opinions of gamers based on their lack of knowledge.
UPDATED: Added more games and comments.
Always check Cheap Shark for the best prices.
You don't need to buy a new controller every generation either since it comes bundled with the consoles...(PC doesn't come with controls at all).
I don't see what kind of logic can bring a $66 Xbox Live subscription to $100... you are trolling right? lol My Xbox 360 I got in 2007 still runs games even though I haven't touched it in years since I can get all the games on PC and don't care about any exclusives + don't want to pay for Live, however taking a $66 item and calling it $100 is hilarious.
You do need to get a new GPU, CPU, RAM, and MOBO once during a console cycle(which is affordable since free online).
If you buy the new version when you have a fine older one that works just as well you are retarded, can't say consoles suck because of that.
As for Skyrim Legendary you can get it for $40 on Xbox 360...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00CJ7IUGS/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1381366399&sr=8-1&keywords=skyrim+legendary+edition&condition=new
PC for $42 Legendary since it hasn't dropped in price on Steam yet.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00CJ7IUIQ/ref=sr_1_2_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1381366399&sr=8-2&keywords=skyrim+legendary+edition&condition=new
Like I said the PS3/PS4 can use any hard drive(also free online however now they force you to pay for PS Plus on the PS4 which is pretty much a deal breaker for me).
You can also get much cheaper headphones than that... the headset I use cost me $50 that I use for my PC and consoles. You do need a headset to communicate with your team on PC if you do any organized play like ranked teams/tournaments League of Legends or DotA 2 or want to talk to friends, similar to console if you do organized play or want to talk to friends. Also at least they come with a headset, better than the nothing a PC would come with lol.
Please, there are so many things about PC better than consoles that don't have to be this bullshit you are pulling, you are like console gamers when they do this... "hurr durr need a $2000 PC just to run games and have to upgrade it every year PC sux."
Literally need a build like this just to run games at 1080p!! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1MVfd
^ That is what you sound like to me. Just on the opposite side.
By buying a stimpack and playing all free week heroes to level 5 you can amass gold pretty quickly to buy some heroes you want.
I started playing after my friends had already been playing for months so I was far behind on owning heroes as well. There was a really cheap deal on amazon for "buying" the game, which came with a handful of heroes. I did that, played them all to 5 along with the free week heroes, and by then I had amassed a bunch of gold so i was able to buy even more. I did this before loot boxes, players doing this now will get a few free heroes along the way from the boxes as well.
There are also several hero bundles with 20 heroes a piece coming on 4/15. No clue what the price will be yet but I'm assuming it will be decent.
It's just a question of if your friend has more money, or time. Despite being "free" to play, the game is going to cost you one of those if your goal is to own a bunch of heroes.
Lately, it seems as though Paradox has been putting their games on sale for 75% off. I managed to get EUIII during their Memorial Day sale; Crusader Kings 1+2, Paradox War Chest and Paradox Majesty Franchise during the Amazon MAYhem Sale.
Defenders of Ardania is fun for a while, but it gets old and repetitive after a while; pretty "meh" for a tower defense game.
Majesty 2 is an alright game, but if the first one was on sale I'd recommend that one instead.
(I got the Majesty bundle for Warlock.) edit: Warlock and its DLC are on sale, though not listed on the OP.
King Arthur is a pretty solid game. I didn't get a chance to install King Arthur II yet, so I cannot compare it to the original.
I don't even think the Gettysburg multiplayer servers are even up, so you might as well pass on that one.
(I got the War Chest for Victoria II and Hearts of Iron III.) edit: Hearts of Iron II + III and their DLC are also on sale, though not listed on the OP.
This is kind of unsolicited advice, but if you want to enjoy the game way more I suggest buying a boxed copy of the game from amazon for Founder status. The perks you get are massive (8 character slots on every server, full bank tabs, a 280 speed account mount, 2k in gems, 2 Semi-enigmatic scrolls, and a BoE 280 speed lion mount which can be sold), especially for the $17 you spend on it. If you feel constricted as a free player, getting Founder status will make you forget you'll playing a free to play game.
Here's the link.
Oh also, if I got your name right I sent you a little something to help you get started.
The Retail Starter bundle can get you Golden Tiger Mount, Five Heroes: Sonya - Warrior, Zeratul - Assassin, Zagara - Specialist, Li Li - Support, Jaina - Assassin, Ronin Zeratul Skin for ~$11.
This is a collection of Guides, Resources and tips to help master the game that also includes tips for getting the most value from a new account.
It includes:
I will cast my votes for TERA and Rift. Rift is 100% free and very well polished since it was a pay-to-play game originally. Their F2P model is one of the best around.
TERA is a great action MMO with a very active community. If you intend to play TERA, I recommend picking up a boxed copy of the game as that will unlock 8 character slots per server and many other perks (see the Founder column) for a one-time fee of (currently) $16.50. If you enter the CD key backwards, you also get a second free mount (entering the key normally gives the Terminus mount whereas entering it backwards gives the Tawny Huntress mount).
You can create an account and play TERA while you wait for your boxed copy to arrive, then apply the codes to your current account. You don't have to create the account with the boxed copy's CD key to get the perks.
I'm not sure if it's still up but I think you can get a free and legit LoL starter pack at Amazon. It gives you more champions to start with as well as some boosts help the starter's grind to 30
Edit: Here's the link. Only available for North America region though
I really wish it was, it'd make sense to capitalize off the press the new DLC is getting with a good sale to rope in new players. I wish they went for a permanent price drop, actually. I want more people playing!
Amazon has some new PC copies from some high rated third party sellers in the $30ish range, that's the best I can really find right now.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01GKGVI8K/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
Greenman has it for $45 if you don't want to wait for shipping.
https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/titanfall-2/
Hope you pick it up! We can always use more pilots. It's a fun game.
DON'T BUY IT FROM STEAM
Here is a pack from amazon from time to time they have amazing sale and you can pick up everything for 15 bucks. Besides that Steam pack doesn't have latest expansion which would cost you another 15 bucks. So just wait and check amazon from time to time.
Btw I would also recommend not buying the game if you are not into these type of games. Paradox games (CK, EU, HOI) are like historical Civilization but 10 times more complex. You will not understand anything first 10 hours and I would recommend to play atleast 100 hours in the main game before trying the mod. Know that this is very different type of experience so it's not like you will jump into Starks and invade King's Landing in first day. Also you will not recreate most of the things in a books, it's essentially a sandbox mod but instead of europe you have westeros and valyrian steel and dragons.
But don't think I don't like the game, I LOVE IT. Have over 300 hours on CK2 and thousands in EU3 and I might fail college because EU4 looks like the greatest game ever made. Just the game is not a cup of tea for everyone, if you don't like strategies or RPG's, there is a big chance you will not like the game.
Hey there bud, FYI you can get a "starter bundle" on amazon.com for freeeeeeee! includes like, 8 champs, an XP boost and an IP boost (which will help you get your runes)
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AMD7HSW
all you gotta do is link your amazon acct to your league acct and boom you win
Here are a bunch of wallpapers. I think i might even use a few.
I don't really have a favorite game but ive really been enjoying Civ 5 lately.
Thanks for the contest!
EDIT:I have Mirrors Edge
EDIT2: this bundle is amazing! i'm buying it for myself haha
My friend posted a similar thing from Amazon lol. It seemed like a pretty good deal so I went and bought it. He was like get the digital copy and I was thinking I might as well get the DVD because download times and Amazon Prime.
http://amzn.com/B00UO4NL9Y
(My apologies for not stripping out the tags; I didn't even know referral was a thing so please excuse my ignorance.)
Amazon got it for super cheap (there's for consoles as well).
https://www.amazon.com/Titanfall-2-PC/dp/B01GKGVI8K
Even if for some reason (i doubt, is one of the best multiplayer experience i had since COD4 [plot twist: they are the same guys =)]) you don't get hooked up by the multiplayer, 12 $ is already VERY worth for the awesome single player campaign.
Edit: Nice, is very worth, and the game is still decently populated (especially after Apex)
The Humble Bundles no longer give you keys. You can either redeem it to your account or make a "gift link" that you give to whoever you want to gift it to. Trading the "spare" games is against the rules of Humble Bundle and the couple places I know of that do trading, like /r/SteamGameSwap. I imagine it's still done, but it's probably pretty risky and their value (especially those in the bottom two tiers) are surely pretty low now.
Also, that Bioshock Infinite for Rust would be a terrible trade for the other person. Why would they trade you a $20 game for one that they could get along with a litany of other games for $20 through the Humble Bundle, buy for $13 on Amazon right now, or wait for a sale on Steam when it drops down to $5 or so.
I would just get the second tier. Spec Ops: The Line, The Darkness II, XCOM Declassified, and Mafia II is a good deal for $8.24. Gift the games you already own.
Not 66% off but 50%. I waited so long and then I did this. Some major retailors honor online price match. Best Buy is one of them. If you have a best buy, Fryes or another company near you that does online price matching. Show them this.

Get it for 20.00
A buddy of mine told me about this giveaway when he saw how much I wanted Overwatch.
Since you can't gift the game the only way to give it to a random stranger would be through Battle.net cards.

See I'm a weird dude. I loved Overwatch's release into the gaming world and the copious amount of porn that came with it.
However, I've always wondered why there's so little amounts of Zenyatta rule34.
We've got Tracers with penises, and Widowmakers with penises, and D.Vas with penises, and Mercy with a witch hat, but no Zenyatta.
It feels like it's such a waste but I want to get closer to the world Overwatch has created.
I want to know why everybody loves Mercy.
I want to know why the meta has shifted from Widowmaker's butt to Mercy's..well, everything.
I know why Tracer's butt was so controversial, but I never got to experience it first-hand for myself.
I know my reasoning is shrewd and possibly ridiculous, but I want Overwatch because I know my beliefs and wishes are genuine.
It makes no sense masturbating to a game's characters when you don't own the game itself, yet I continue on, because I hoped that one day someone would grant this poor and horny college student just one wish.
I want to see it for my own eyes so I can make my own judgement.
I want to see Tracer's controversial butt.
I want to see Widowmaker's purple butt.
I want see D.Va's mech explode leaving the exposed and vulnerable undercarriage. Just the undercarriage.
I want to see Mei. More. Often.
I want to see Zarya's muscle twitches.
I want to see Mercy's witch hat.
Last but not least, I promise that if I can somehow beat the odds, I will take up 3D Modelling and Animation seriously in order to create some of the best Zenyatta porn the world will ever see.
This probably won't be seen in the sea of comments but,
I have never felt so passionate like this in my life. This is not only the reason why I want the game, but possibly one of the few things in existence that would motivate me to do something worthwhile with my degenerate and pathetic life.
So I ask you and is my reason not good enough?
I know you said PC download, but amazon appears to have the physical ARR + HW bundle for 29.99. This also would give you the special code for the amazon deal that is currently going on which includes a few cool things in the game, like the maid and butler outfits and the white fat chocobo.

Also, since you have to completely start over, you can make a new SE account and do the free trial while you wait for the physical copy to get there.
5 dollars on amazon right now get it here ,it's optimized , great singleplayer story, great survival coop, heck even the multiplayer is quite fun, you won't regret.
Welp.
This is happening.
Thanks again! :D
also I think this might work if you're a fan of amazon? link
or cards through gamestop?
heck even walmart and email if you're lazy like me :D
Whichever works best for you is perfectly fine with me.
However as a heads up I might be dead in a few minutes. 12:10am right now and I work at 2pm. yay...
but thanks again man! (uh. feel free to pm me? ^^^^^plsnotrigger)
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Heavensward-Reborn-Bundle/dp/B00UO4NL9Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1491405929&sr=8-3&keywords=heavensward
Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/63jqhp/psa_arr_and_heavensward_10_each_or_20_for_the/?st=j155273j&sh=6fa39554 Apparently Humble Bumble has it on sale at the moment!
There's the amazon link to the bundle you need to buy, it includes both ARR and Heavensward. All servers are cross platform so you can play with PS3/4 players as well as PC, you just have to have individual licenses if you decide to do both (Can't buy PS4 license and play on PC, for example).
The newest expansion, Stormblood, arrives in June and offers two new playable classes: Samurai and Red Mage. you will only be able to play these classes if you've purchased Stormblood, though.
Having access to Heavensward will give you the Au Ra race at the beginning, but you will not be able to play the Machinist, Astrologian, or Dark Knight jobs until you reach Heavensward content.
Right now you can play a free trial of FFXIV. The playtime is unlimited, but there are restrictions that are applied (can't level up past 30, etc).
WHY ARE YOU YELLING DIRECTIONS AT US!
Diablo on my Champagne Tastes List: because this game makes me ridiculously happy and ADDING things to this game is so exciting for my little nerd self.
Army Wives on my DVD list is one of my highest: because that show rocks my boring little world.
Shoes on my Expensive Needs list: because I need to lose weight and I need shoes to do it in since I have a new exercise bike and my best friend and I learned walking around the track at night is actually freaking fun!
Monopoly on my PS3 list: because it's Monopoly o.o
A Gummy Bear Light: on my default Spluring List because it's neat, and pink, and a light, and I just think it's neat honestly.
Ps: I thought your linked item was a roll of paper towels until I read your description >.>
Amazon often puts bundles of these games on sale, too, though it doesn't look as if they're there yet this time. If you want to keep an eye on them, though:
Crusader Kings Pack - Crusader Kings Complete, Crusader Kings 2, and most if not all of the pre-Old Gods/Norse CK2 DLC
Paradox War Chest - Achtung Panzer Kharkov 1943, Gettysburg: Armored Warfare, Hearts of Iron III Collection, King Arthur Collection, King Arthur 2, Victoria 2 + A House Divided
Paradox Majesty Bundle - Defenders of Ardania + DLC, Majesty Gold, Majesty 2 + DLC, Warlock: Master of the Arcane + DLC
Paradox Seas Bundle - Commander: Conquest of the Americas + Colonial Navy, East India Company Collection, Naval War: Arctic Circle, Pirates of Black Cove + Origins, Ship Simulator Extremes, Victoria 2 + A House Divided
Plentiful Paradox Package - Crusader Kings 2, Magicka Collection + The Stars Are Left, Sword of the Stars Complete, Sword of the Stars 2 Enhanced, Victoria 2
When these do go on sale, they're typically priced between $15 and $25. No guarantee that they will during this sale, but they have pretty regularly in the past, so they're probably worth watching anyway if you're interested in these games. I'm not a fan of the Seas bundle, but the other four are all great packages. Most of them provide Steam keys.
Amazon. It was just a normal sale. Now's a good time to buy- it's $30.
It's really great if you want to do Morroblivion or something and you don't have Morrowind and the expansions. The packaging is also fantastic. I was really satisfied with it.

4 things you must do is. http://www.amazon.com/League-Legends-Starter-Pack-Instant/dp/B01AMD7HSW for free champs. Also garen for twitter, trist (i forgot) and alistar for youtube. I think these are still free google free alistar youtube and etc. hope this helps you rolling.
i recommend CK2, its their best game IMO. Also a very good reddit community, r/crusaderkings, and an amazing Game of Thrones mod.
Also, the complete pack (CK1 + Ck2 + All DLC) for only $15 on amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Paradox-Interactive-41303-Kings-Pack1/dp/B00B7UK2I2
It will give you keys to activate on steam.
Not that i know of - there are a couple interesting options though -
Other than that the gold gain and hero rotation are actually pretty decent, but I hear you on it being a big investment.
Aren't you able to purchase a time card from amazon or another retailer like that? I know this doesn't solve the bigger problem (support itself and your blist ip) but at least it is a bandage that will allow you to continue to enjoy the game. Sorry if I missed something about why you arent using the time card in your post, I just woke up and I am not fully awake yet. Good luck!
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Online-Time/dp/B00O15486W/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1495378453&sr=1-1&keywords=ffxiv+time+card
I think you're underselling SoI a little. The Muslim experience is pretty radically different from Christians. You have polygamy, decadence, many religious events, and the agnatic open succession system. In addition, SoI added sub-traits for commanders so you can customize what your ruler is good at, if he has a martial education.
Edit - Also you can spare yourself the headache and just buy this puppy. Amazon had it for $10 in January and $15 in March, so there's a very good chance it will be in that range for their inevitable summer sale.
Blizzard games don't have a gift option (they really should offer it, but never have)
Best you can do is buy battle.net gift cards and give those as the gift to the person so they can use them to buy the game on their account.
Gift cards are available from other retailers, like Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Battle-net-Store-Gift-Card-Balance/dp/B012JMS4W2?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
You can save a lot of money by getting the FFXIV + Heavensward bundle for $30, digital copy.
MAKE SURE YOU CLICK "BUY DIGITAL: $29.98" BELOW THE "PLATFORM" CHOICE BOX
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Heavensward-Reborn-Bundle/dp/B00UO4NL9Y/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1493128079&sr=1-2&keywords=ffxiv%2Band%2Bheavensward&th=1
This bundle is the best option, otherwise you'll be paying like 20 bucks for the main game, then another 20-30 for the expansion.
in slight relation to your comment, i just picked up tomb raider off of amazon for less than 15 bucks using coupon code: 'GOONCAVE'
pretty good deal if you haven't picked it up yet.
along with the steam sales, amazon is apparently having some pretty good sales themselves
I would suggest that you buy it via Amazon then for the sole purpose that my games are tradeable and the ones from Amazon are not.
Here is the link to Amazon for you: http://www.amazon.com/Sid-Meiers-Civilization-Edition-Download/dp/B005OSTWWK/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1341386429&sr=1-2&keywords=civilization+5+game+of+the+year+edition
Or, a much better deal would probably be: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GW57JS/ref=s9_al_ft_g367_ir04?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=03J3WE490SNYBGAGCTP6&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_p=1375633202&pf_rd_i=1000812791
Good luck!
Yes, but get the original Legendary Edition with all DLCs from Amazon for only 18 bucks. It has way more mods, no paid mods, and the modded version will look better than the SE. The disk version includes a Steam key, and I bought that same item from Amazon not too long ago -- it arrived quickly and in good condition.
Best Buy is having a sale on this boxed set FOR ONLY 15 BUCKS!
For this cheap you can get a great gift for someone who dosent already have it or if you yourself have been wanting to play skyrim.
I bought this last year and have put about 1200 hours into all the games of you add them up. In this boxed set you get all 5 of the elder scrolls game INCLUDING their dlc. the only elder scrolls game you dont get is elder scrolls online.
Skyrim requires a steam account and comes with a code which will add morrowwind, oblivion, and skyrim to your steam account. All the games can be installed with the included disk and all the games except skyrim can be run without steam. (morrowind and oblivion can be run with or without steam, skyrim can also be installed with the disc but you cant play it unless you activate the code on your steam account.)
Only for PC.
Oh and you also get matching maps for each game.
edit It appears to have sold out? Good news though you can get it on amazon and walmart for 20 bucks still. http://www.amazon.com/The-Elder-Scrolls-Anthology-Pc/dp/B00E9I1FPI
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Elder-Scrolls-Anthology-PC/28201243
You can get a PC download of Infinite pretty cheap. It's $10 on Amazon right now.
http://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Infinite-Online-Game-Code/dp/B009SPZ11Q/ref=dsvbl_item_0
Apart from this, the DLC is totally worth it. Just make sure you played the original BioShock too!
This is perfect! My original DS finally gave up the ghost on me (my cat knocked it off my dresser one too many times.) I don't need Rhythm heaven, I just need to get back to my Pokemon Pearl Save.
Crusader Kings 2 Is definitely my favorite video game. I've logged over 750 hours in the last year or so.
DLCs are mostly multiplayer skins and weapons (which might be unlockeable through normal means, not sure), while there is more single player content, it's just one DLC. It's just one tomb and it takes about 2 minutes to solve.
Multiplayer isn't even that great, it just seems something they added because they were forced too. It's not terrible, and there can be joy if you play with a bunch a friends, but it's not well executed.
While Tomb Raider 2013 is honestly one of my favorite games from last gen, I wouldn't recommend the GOTY edition when the base game is cheaper. It's honestly the same experience with a $2 difference, and I don't think $2 is worth spending a bunch of useless DLCs for espescially when the steam sale is coming up.
Copying this from an earlier comment, but it belongs here, too.
I was at GameStop and on the clearance shelf I found an one of these for $13. Came with Skyrim and all the DLC plus all the other Elder Scrolls games (discs and steam codes) plus maps for all of 'em. My luck here might've been a one time thing but who knows, couldn't hurt to look.
On GameStop's website it's $21 which is still pretty damn good! Check if a store near you has one.
Starter edition bundle when it was on sale for, like, $7.
I gave all the Hero codes to friends to help them get started.
You could get Civ IV Complete, Civ V GOTY, and Stronghold Collection from Amazon for only $20 http://www.amazon.com/2K-Games-41092ategy-Pack-Strategy/dp/B008GW57JS/ref=br_lf_m_1000812791_1_27_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&pf_rd_p=1377853402&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000812791&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1WWE87QK850XEX9EXSX5 .
Anywho, as far as individual titles.
Total War Series: I recommend Medieval 2 Total War. Some pretty cool mods for it (eg LOTR) and it always seemed like the most fun to me.
Civilization Series: Civ IV is a bit harder to get into, in my opinion, whereas Civ V is more streamlined + casual. I'm not too big into the Civ series like I used to be with the Total War series, so I'd say get whichever seems more appealing to you. If you're interested in Civ I'd highly recommend that pack, I just got it the other day!
$20 for the Legendary version on Amazon. One of the best entertainment per dollar values I have ever seen. Unless that $20 means you will miss a meal, I would highly recommend it.
Gamestop and Amazon both have it for $20 right now in case someone is feeling generous. Sorry I can't get it for you, but I hope someone does, and I wish everything works out just fine for you.
I recently went back to FFXIV and the amount of content there is truly staggering, especially when you remember that ff14 and SWTOR were more or less contemporary games (launched around the same time)
If anyone would like a referral code for final fantasy 14, just PM me with an email to send it to and you get some swag and some free play time to try it out
edit: FWIW full game with x-pack is also on sale on amazon for $26
I bought a 60 day time card from amazon and after I punched it in, I automatically got the vet rewards for 30 and 60 day. So time cards for sure will unlock your vet rewards right away.
I'm not sure what you mean by steam gift cards. AFAIK, I only paid for the steam base product, and my subscription is maintained strictly in mogstation through my SE account.EDIT: I went into my mogstation account and found a button that allows you to use steam payment. It's right next to add a time card button.
This is the time card that I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Online-Time/dp/B00O15486W
>A Pc Game ($25 max)
RIP. Diablo III
Thanks for the contest though! i know that a lot of people will enjoy this!
My favorite game is... Super Mario :p
edit: Link
(I approved this one). With the huge number of unauthorized key resellers selling Bioshock Infinite at prices they shouldn't even be able to, I felt that this was an important one for anyone who wanted to get the game at a really great price, from an authorized dealer.
~Chris
Edit: Direct PC Link
Civ5 is a very excellent game.
I'd say that Civ 5 + Brave New World pushes it to the best of the series, however the base game alone is largely flawed in comparison to 4, but still good.
However... iTunes is a rip off. Steam has the game for sale at $30, but regularlly puts it on sale for $5-$10 http://store.steampowered.com/app/8930/
Amazon also frequently sells it for cheap, though if you're on Mac, be careful to search for the correct version:
http://www.amazon.com/Sid-Meiers-Civilization-V-Download/dp/B004774IPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383086071&sr=8-1&keywords=civ+5
Neither of these are P2W.
/r/TeraOnline
Tera really only gives you costumes and convenience items in their cash shop, such as field repair kits. You can buy a Founder's Pack on Amazon and apply the code to your account, which gives you tons of permanent benefits, such as 8 character slots instead of 2, and a faster mount for all characters.
/r/BladeAndSoul
Cash shop is mostly costumes and convenience items. There is a premium option that's like a 30-day subscription that gives your characters special benefits for the duration, such as increased exp and gold find.
Personally I'd just get it whichever way is cheapest in the long run. If there's a nice save on the bundle (like the Gold edition which has G&K) I'd get that and worry about BNW later. The Gold edition includes a bunch of previously released Civilizations, which really freshen up the game.
As complete beginner to the whole series, I had a blast with just the vanilla game at start. That being said, the two expansions really tweak an already good game into perfection. I wouldn't be able to switch back to vanilla after playing with them both.
EDIT: For example the base game is 20 dollars on amazon right now. You can wait for a sale on Steam for the Gold edition upgrade, which will be around 2-5 dollars, and get BNW when it's on sale etc.
Yup, it's actually cheaper at Amazon for me.
I'm personally waiting for the GOTY edition, what with all the DLC Bethesda like to put into their games and how much they're improved by fan patches.
But I have to admit I was hoping to be tempted out of that plan.
Best deal at the moment might be on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Download/dp/B00CMSCV4Q
There's no difference whatsoever, the disc isn't really needed. So except if your father values physical copies, might as well get a direct download. :)
Also, get this if you haven't: here
And get the free champs here (you have to open a support ticket mentioning Alistar and their support bot will add him to your account automatically)
As others have said here, PC version with the expansion is the way to go. Dunno if it factors into your purchase or not, but Amazon currently has hard copies of the base game expansion for 50% off. You'll have to wait for them until March 6th and 7th respectively if I read correctly, but that's a grand total of $40 and well worth it.
Here is the page for the NA timecard.
Edit: Thanks mods for fixing the thread!
As for the Timecards, they seem to be going out of stock only temporarily as they restock their supply of codes from SE. They've come and gone about three times now so just be patient and check back in 30 minutes to an hour. The promotion info returns to the timecard page as well when it's in stock so there's nothing really going on besides running out of codes temporarily.
Good luck!
I've got an Amazon balance I was hoping to burn, but it looks like the base game and digital Battle.Net Gift Cards are all out of stock. I don't really have much experience with Amazon Games / Blizzard, so realistically how long are we talking until they come back in stock?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E9I1FPI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1465057980&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=elderscrolls+anthology
It's worth the money if you buy it for pc. Played all 3 so far and loving them. Having done dagger fall or arena yet though.
I got it at walmart not too long ago for $5 might get lucky.
No worries. This link has the Amazon sale, which is a great deal if you have a strong interest in trying both Civ V and IV. Otherwise, definitely wait and see if they do 75% off.
Just remember that GOTY Civ V (which is in the above bundle) is missing Korea & Ancient Wonders, if you feel like being complete.
As fs2d said, you can download the trial to give it a go, which contains the tutorial and a single player mission. You could also buy the game, play it as much as you like within 24 hours and then refund it for any reason - Check out Origin's Great Game Guarantee for more details.
Alternatively, you could download the trial to see how it runs and then get it on Amazon for $30
There used to be a free champ bundle. This might still work, idk though.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AMD7HSW?th=1
edit: Looks like its unavailable. They might do something like it again at the start of next split? Idk though
You can get a small champion bundle from Amazon for free now.
>The Starter Pack contains the following champions: Ashe, Garen, Ryze, Annie, Warwick, Nunu, Master Yi, and Sivir.
Which more or less gives characters for each role. While not perfect it's a good starting point for the game.
>Or for another example I couldn't get into Skyrim and barely managed to play enough to beat the main storyline. Does that mean the game isn't worth 60 bucks?
Skyrim costs $22.95 if SoT costs $30 no one would be complaining.
>My point was all games aren't for all people.
My point is that no one is arguing that all games should be for all people and thus your statement is irrelevant to the discussion being had.
>Off topic- Why so angry? What compelled you to come at me with such vitriol? Seriously man it's a game. Take a breath.
Always strikes me as weird when people post things like this - I'm not mad or angry in the least - what would give you that idea? The use of bold? It's literally the addition of two asterisks on either side of your typing... I assure you, I'm not mad, and there's no vitriol in my post (so sensitive, geeze...)
I think it's pretty clear you'd enjoy the game regardless if they charged $150 or $10. Good for you. I think this sub, and the general reception of the game (a simple google search will show you) have shown that Rare has made some serious design and business mistakes.
If people like you want to continue to support that, go for it, who am I to tell you what to do with your money? Where I feel you miss the mark is not accepting that you are in the vast minority in feeling this way, and that if you continue to be such a minority of the market, the game you cherish will surely go the way of Lawbreakers, Battleborn, or D2.
I suggest you take a step back and reassess how much you are concerned about the perceived anger of other posters and focus on what can and should be done to fix the game you and others so vehemently defend.
you don't have $20?
how do you have a gf?
But Play PoE. it's much BETTER. and it's free.
Save yourself a bit of money on it too, Amazon has it 50% off! It was even cheaper several days ago, but this game is very worth $10. And yeah, the code Amazon gives redeems on Steam!
Edit: Never mind me, I forgot it's featured in the Humble Bundle for a dollar cheaper + with other games. Go for that instead!!
So I have the original Skyrim game on my Steam account, but not the DLC. Now I'm looking to get the DLC, but it's not on the store anymore, only with the Special Edition. I have a low power PC so I don't want to sacrifice more performance with the special edition, so I was wondering if the original Legendary Edition physical would be what I'm looking for? And also the UK version is almost half the price, so if I bought that would it be compatible with my US Skyrim license? (Want to keep my saves)
If you're looking at buying ROS it's on sale here: http://www.amazon.com/Diablo-III-Reaper-Souls-Pc/dp/B00FENJVOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415664870&sr=8-1&keywords=diablo+3+ros
Best buy in the US will price match - at least they did yesterday to upgrade my wife's account. Hope it helps.

Any video game purchase of $19.99 or greater on Amazon.com will qualify you to receive an Amazon promotional code that will grant you three exclusive pieces of DLC for Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood! Codes will be sent within 48 hours of purchase. Here's how (restrictions apply)
That's what you need to look for. Most (but not all) new games or time card will be eligible. If the game is old, and no longer being published by the original company, it's probably going to come from a third-party and not be eligible.
At the moment you can get the base game, all the DLC except that which came out yesterday (which is a LOT of content, you can get the new DLC later if you are interested - I have played 100s of hours without it and still am not bored), and CK1 on Amazon for $15.
This is to celebrate the new DLC's release. If you are not comfortable with spending the small amount of extra money before playing the normal game - there will be sales again.

It'll show for us Brazilians as currently unavailable, you need to make an account with an US address (needs to be an account with just an US address, you can't add a new address to your BR account), then you'll be able to buy it. You also need to use an international credit card.
Nice post! It looks like you posted the body of it three times though on the 7/28 prices:

Actually, I would highly recommend you buy ONE physical copy of a Steamworks game, for example, Skyrim.
If you don't know what a Steamworks game is, it's a system Steam implemented that reassures you that no matter where you buy the game, it'll have a Steam key attached to it. All retail copies of Steamworks games(except a very few) come with a Steam key.
The reason I suggest buying a physical Steamworks game is because if your account ever gets stolen, hacked, etc. you can take a picture of your physical CD key with your email address written on a piece of paper next to it and send it to Steam support and they'll know you are the rightful owner of the account. This is one of the few things that make Steam support know you're the real owner of the account and things will get done A LOT faster.
You only need one game though, Portal 2 is another example. Here is the complete list of games that use Steamworks, you can see if it has a retail version on the right side.
Of course this is only if you are going to be using Steam. You can also buy games from Origin(EA games mostly), GreenManGaming(usually gives you a Steam key 99% of the time), GoodOldGames(DRM free games, usually older titles from the 90's) and the HumbleIndieBundle(DRM free and sometimes gives you Steam keys if you spend over $1).

Well, amazon givees you a 10$ credit when you purchase the digital copy from them, so technically you net out ahead if you can buy some school supplies or something from amazon :)

Where does it say that's a requirement exactly? All I saw was:

The 60 day timecard here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O15486W/ref=s9_simh_gw_g367_i1_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=XSY2MTZDV65NWPC2QYQV&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=6aad23bd-3035-4a40-b691-0eefb1a18396&pf_rd_i=desktop - is under the Video Games category, and says "Sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC"
I'm just curious where people are getting this from, does it only apply to physical shipments? Where does it say so?

Better Deal
Take the Elder-Scrolls-Anthology to Best Buy or you local electronic/game dealer the takes Amazon prices, and get every elder scrolls game & DLC/EP's for $20.
I did this today and now finally "Own" the DLC for Skyrim along with copies of Oblivion and Morrowind on Steam.
Wait, you can get it cheaper on amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Square-Enix-41017Tomb-Raider2-Download/dp/B007VFHGZ4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1373767974&sr=8-3&keywords=tomb+raider
Use the code: GOONCAVE and you will pay 10 dollars for Tomb Raider, you can activate it on Steam. And yes, its worth it, i loved the game
Thanks to /u/Drew-fish I can say the best deal appears to be through Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Skyrim-Legendary-PC/dp/B00CJ7IUIQ
Technically 0$. But to make things a bit easier at the start, the 20$ founders is recommended or the 100$ collectors edition if you feel the tangible items are worth it. Both give you lots of bank space, character slots, mounts, etc. Bank space, character slots and better mounts can be bought later with gold or C$. There's an optional 15$/mo sub or per month 1 time scrolls. The perks may not appeal to all.
Linking a bundle with both the game and expac included below that is only $50. You will want to have the expac around the same time you hit level 50 at the latest, that way you get exp while doing the lvl 50 story missions. For an MMO ffxiv has a great story but the longevity in the game comes from doing end game content with the people that you meet in game. Whether that is raid, crafting, questing, or w/e, the people you are playing with will mainly be doing things that require you to be max level as a group. FFXIV is a story driven mmo, but you will always need to have the latest expansion to get a good and fulfilling experience from an MMO since that is where people will be spending their time.

Keep in mind that this was after a 30 second google search, if you shop around and wait time it right you will likely be able to get both for 30 or 40 bucks.
Probably the Elder Scrolls Anthology. I'm ridiculously fucking excited. New Morrowind wall map? Yes. Yes yes.

Here is a link to said sale.
I definitely recommend just going for that, then deciding if you want TOG (probably, it's really good despite some balance issues in 867).
I enjoyed it. I do not think it was a good value, as do many others who have picked up the expansion. I'm not a hardcore player with multiple level 70s though -- one is enough for me.
Its been like that for a while. They had a pack up with civ4/5 and stronghold 1 and 2 for about $20 that was all steam redeemable. not sure if it still exists..
edit: found the link.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GW57JS/
looks like its still good. they all redeem on steam. That's the one I got. Never played stronghold, but even if they suck, its still a pretty good deal.

Well besides those http://www.amazon.com/The-Elder-Scrolls-Anthology-Pc/dp/B00E9I1FPI All five Elder Scrolls games, and the expansions for Morrowind and Oblivion, and the DLC for Skyrim. (DLC for Oblivion is pretty much houses, and contain a quest or two each, and pretty cheap.)
The base game is on sale for $20 on Amazon if you don't feel like messing with Best Buy :) http://www.amazon.com/Diablo-III-PC/dp/B00178630A
I would like to remind everyone that titanfall 2 is currently $5 for pc through amazon, and it's the best fucking deal for a game you'll get all year https://www.amazon.com/Titanfall-2-PC/dp/B01GKGVI8K?th=1
I don't know about starting with Morrowind honestly. It's definitely a hard game and it turned me away from the series for a little bit before I picked up Oblivion and loved it. Skyrim is amazing as well but I would suggest starting with Oblivion.
edit: this is a damn good deal
Do you have the base Skyrim game?
If you don't, just wait for the legendary edition's release; it's basically Skyrim GOTY edition:http://www.amazon.com/video-games/dp/B00CJ7IUIQ
I don't have Dawnguard, but I have Dragonborn, and I think it is a GREAT DLC, with a sizeable amount of content(They add a new island and there are a fair amount of quests. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Quests_(Dragonborn)
It gets stale once the sidequests and main quest is done though, but it does add 4 new dragon priests, as well as 2 new materials to forge with.
Overall, I say wait for a sale on Dragonborn, but buy it once it does go on sale because it's a really good piece of DLC. If it doesn't go on sale soon, I don't think it would be a really bad waste of $20.
Given the vagueness of your situation, I'm not sure if this is any better for you than just giving Square your CC info...but I get my time cards from Amazon:
Final Fantasy XIV Online: 60 Day Time Card [Online Game Code] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O15486W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vNQsybV6SWRKD
The code shows up in your email within about five minutes of purchase, and blammo, you're in.
Alternately, if you need to use cash or otherwise pay locally, you can get a game code from GameStop even if they're out of the physical cards. When I last purchased game time through them, the code was simply printed on the receipt--no physical card needed.
Hopes this helps!
60 Day Time Card:
Under the listing it says:
> Special Offers and Product Promotions
> * Spend $19.99 or more in the Amazon Video Games Category to receive six exclusive in-game items for "Final Fantasy XIV." You will receive your code by email within 2 business days. Here's how (restrictions apply)
So that would be a "yes". :)
Here you go.
But really I only truly trust Amazon
Hey guys, I found a combo that beats this deal. Buy the 2K Strategy pack from Amazon for $20. Then, buy the Korea DLC, the Wonders of the World DLC from Steam, and the Civ III Complete from Steam, which should be a total of $3.72.
Congrats; you just bought the collection + Strongholds collection for $23.72 (not including sales tax). (US)
EDIT: My price with the sales tax was $25.43. Got Strongholds collection for $0.43.
dont wait for that, they already said NO ETA for this feature at all. so maybe at some point next year.
Keep in mind if you guys wanna Gift Stuff to your friend you can buy a Digital Battle.net Gift Card on amazon and that person will get 20$USD to use in the shop anytime he want.
Right now The Elder Scrolls Anthology is $20 on Amazon, so if you don't have the other games and don't mind waiting for it to ship you can get a really good deal, and as a bonus you get maps for each game. If you have the other games already you could also go with the Legendary Edition for $15, though you don't get the kick-ass maps with it.
Generally, whenever I commit to a game series, I do it the right way. Like you, I'll be waiting until it (hopefully) becomes a Daily Deal..
If the GOTY edition becomes a Daily Deal, I'll definitely get it. There's a lot of extra content, and I think you'd probably feel like you're missing out if you didn't get them all. It doesn't seem like that much extra money anyhow.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008GW57JS/ref=cm_sw_su_dp
$20 for GOTY and Civ IV on Amazon
You can spend twenty bucks on Amazon and get both Civ 4 complete, Civ 5 GOTY, and The Stronghold Collection - this is probably the most bang for your buck at the minute.
Unfortunately does not include G&K though.
Alternatively, you could spend $12 for Civ 4 Complete and normal (not GOTY) Civ 5, found here.
Gods and Kings is 25% off at Greenmangaming, and if you "buy" their free game today, you'll get a coupon for 20% off anything until the end of July, so you could pick up Gods and Kings for $18 even...
The choices are yours, and yours alone! Good luck.
https://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Skyrim-Legendary-PC/dp/B00CJ7IUIQ?th=1&psc=1
So if I just went ahead and bought this, then how do I get it on my steam? If you change the platform of the game on amazon there is another choice called, PC online game code. Is it that one? Or just the one labeled, PC. Thanks for the help BTW.
If you want to play all the games, start with Morrowind, then Oblivion, then Skyrim. It's harder to go back once you've played a newer game.
You can get the anthology for $30 http://smile.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Anthology-Pc/dp/B00E9I1FPI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426092746&sr=8-1&keywords=elder+scrolls+complete
I definitely wouldn't buy any of the games from Steam unless they're on sale.
A bit late but...
This is your best bet for value. All 5 games on disks, DRM free, and all expansions (but not DLC)
the first 2 games don't really matter as they're freeware but that's still $10 per game. You find it at $30 anywhere you look.
I personally haven't got it yet neither have i played oblivion. But this gets you Morrowind and Skyrim as well. (Skyrim is the only one that requires steam to play)
Not sure why people refuse to believe Legendary edition is only around $20. It's been that way for a bit, only certain places are continuing to over-charge.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CJ7IUIQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That's a link to buy it on Amazon, and it ships from Amazon. It's genuine, and I've bought two (one for the wife), AND it's only $15 (that's $5 cheaper than the one I bought for my wife, and $10 cheaper than the one I got for myself a few months earlier than the last). If you buy some other stuff to make your cart total $35+, the shipping is free.
Doesn't get much better than that.
If you don't want to buy from Amazon, then buy from somewhere that takes PayPal, as PayPal will refund your money if you don't get it or if it's a pirate copy.
(FYI, this is the DVD disc, plus obviously Steam so you can also DL it [after registration] if you, uh, like very slow installs. They also sell a direct DL link, PS3 and XBox360 versions, all cheaper than retail stores)
Use the original product page: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00178630A
Oh, but then you wouldn't get your referral bonus, would you??
> Is learning about crafting worth it? Or is it just as well for me to ignore that part of the game.
It is only useful at level cap to make gold and to craft BiS gear for PvE and PvP
> My skills seem to have glyphs or runes I can choose. I know there is a point cap, but some are permanently greyed out. Why? And how do I unlock them?
If they are greyed out it means you can't use them if you have used all your points. If they have like a Padlock icon thing on them.
It means you haven't unlocked them.
To unlock them you level up and during the levels 61-65 you can run the Dungeons Sabex Armory(Level 61), Marcellarius Catacombs(Level 64) for Khirian and Vanguard? Glyph boxes which has a chance to give you those locked glyphs and or get better versions of glyphs you already have.
> Is there any general pack I should buy other than possibly the $15 subscription. I heard some people say they got stuff from buying a boxed version (might have been character slots.) Is there something I can but that would give me slots cheaper than $5 per?
This is what they were talking about - http://www.amazon.com/Tera-Online-PC/dp/B002I0HJG8
It gives you Founders. Elite is the 15dollar subscription. More information on Nonthing/Founders/Elite can be found Here
> My level 27 is an archer. Do they suck? I've heard sorcerer is better for ranged damage and an all around better choice?
Play whatever you feel like if you like Archers stick with them, they have some big buffs coming their way.
> My level 12 is a lancer, but I've never tanked before in a game. How hard is it to be adequate as a tank in this game?
In this game Tanking isn't like other games.
You generate threat by using your skills and Auto attacks. There is a technique called block cancelling.
Where you use your Standfast Skill(How you block) to cancel skill animations.
Like you can Auto attack and use standfast to cancel the rest of your basic attack animation after the damage has applied so you can then attack with your other skills to generate threat at a much quicker rate meaning you can hold aggro.
If you have any more Lancer questions just ask and I can try and answer you as best as possible.
> Is there a lot to do at max level?
Yes, a lot!
> Are there any reddit guilds on the server Tempest Reach? Can you switch servers?
At the top of the Subreddit we link the Monthly Guild Recruitment Thread. Can be found here unfortunately most guilds that are really active are level 60 - 65.
Yes you can server Transfer, it can be found at:
https://account.enmasse.com/users/account
Then just click Server Transfer. Only thing is there are some restrictions on Transfers. Found Here
> It seems my archer has access to a bank, but I got a message saying I was putting something in a temporary bank when I dropped something in. Is it safe to leave stuff there?
I am not sure as to what the meaning behind temporary banker is unless it is the NPC Scroll: Phargo. Which is a mobile Banker which last 5minutes and has a 10minute cooldown use.
You can find banks in every City Located near the Key Icon on your town map which you can find by Pressing M or looking for it on your minimap which can be toggled with N.

Have a nice day!
To be fair, expecting to play a game you just purchased doesn't make you entitled. It's not like Blizzard doesn't have any experience for massive release days (WOW). If you sell 12 million copies and aren't able to support that many players after touting online only as some great (non-DRM) feature, maybe they should have limited the amount of copies sold. If this were any other company (or industry) you'd get the same feedback. Also, lol, it's rating went up to 2 stars.
Here are a bunch of games on sale at the moment (assuming you're on PC). Hopefully something sparks your interest.
Shadow Warrior $7.99
Tomb Raider $7.00
BioShock Infinite $7.49
Payday 2 $9.99
Head over to /r/beermoney and make that $60 before the 24th. Many sites pay in Amazon gift cards. You can buy battlenet credit HERE in increments of $20 with your amazon gift card balance.
Much of the stuff you'll find in that sub takes a while to pay, but some sites like instagc.com will pay same day.
If you ever do they did release this to make it easier on you though xD
https://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Anthology/dp/B00E9I1FPI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491505850&sr=8-1&keywords=elder+scrolls+collection
Here is a link for just Civ V, on sale on Amazon right now, if you don't want the whole strategy pack, though the pack is only 5 bucks more.
It is completely worth it. It's amazing as always.
Good point. I didn't think about pressure from other online retailers.
On Amazon US, I don't think Skyrim is available for PC download. Its boxed price is $43.99 USD, so there might not be as much pressure here from them to make it lower. And while Steam is available worldwide, its developer Valve is in the US.
I hope I'm wrong. :)
EDIT: I just noticed that Green Man Gaming had Skyrim on sale for $29.98 USD in January. That could have an effect on the Steam sale. I've added this in the self-text above. Thanks, man!
$21 on Amazon US. Don't know how shipping works to outside the US, I know I can order from Amazon UK and have it shipped here though.
Also, 21GBP on Amazon UK. Maybe compare shipping and see which is a better deal?
It actually isn't a scam! The Heroes of the storm purchase as you can see from this amazon link (hopefully this doesn't get deleted) actually comes with five heroes: Sonya, Zeratul, Zagara, Li Li, and Jaina as well as the Ronin Zeratul Skin and the Golden Tiger mount. That edition is the only way to get the golden tiger mount.
You can currently get it from this seller on amazon who has very good feedback and is about $7 off the lowest price ever. Or here's a good place to track prices. You're welcome
Even with the Summer Sale, Steam is no where near with best deal right now.
Much better deal for the GOTY
US$20 for Civ 5 GOTY (All DLC) & Civ 4 (everything) & Stronghold series
Better deal for G&K
US$22.50 for G&K
Note: all of the above games come with steam activation codes.
You don't need to purchase to try it out. There's a free trial.
Here's a hard copy of the base game + expansion, best deal I could find. You just missed a 50% off sale from the Square Enix store that happens semi-frequently.
It's worth noting that wherever you purchase from, there's a Steam version and a SE version. Steam version lets you pay through Steam Wallet. Whichever version you buy, you need the same one if you buy the expansion.
There's also the 2k strategy pack at $20. It includes Civ V GOTY (where as Civ V in the bundle is not GOTY), Civ IV and the stronghold collection. There are two versions, one where civ 4 and stronghold are drm free, the other where they are on steam (I believe that Civ V can be downloaded either way on both packs).
Pack with Stronghold Collection & Civ IV on steam
Pack with Stronghold Collection & Civ IV DRM Free
They have Mark of the Ninja, reddit's Stealth Game of the Year 2012, on sale for $3.75. That's probably as low as it's going to go, so if you enjoy stealth games, it's a must-buy.
Crusader Kings II, the royalty simulator that has become a cult phenomenon thanks to how much it reminds people of Game of Thrones, is on sale for $9.99 (or you can get a complete pack with all the DLC for $15. If you're not intimidated by grand strategy games with somewhat steep learning curves, CKII is worth a try. If you already have CKII, it appears a lot of the DLC is on sale, as well.
Also, if you like being scared, Amnesia is only $3. Search for Amnesia reaction videos on YouTube if you're unfamiliar.
If you enjoy the game then buy it. Dont be a bitch.
Hell, the GoTY edition is on sale at Amazon for $20 and it comes with Civ IV:Complete and some Stronghold games.
AMAZON! I love amazon.
I bit the bullet at Amazon for the Anthology: http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-Anthology-Pc/dp/B00E9I1FPI/
Currently sitting at $21 (plus shipping if you don't have Prime or if your total order isn't over $35). Not the lowest its been these past few days, but it still seems like it's worth it since you get the physical discs, a Steam key to Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim and ALL of the DLC's (as far as I can tell), and a few physical maps.
I'm been trying to Google on how to purchase this game and still pretty damn confused lol.
How do I even buy this game once the trial has ended? I see sites selling physical copies of the game? And then there are digital copies? And then there are game cards as well...with different sites selling them.
I've no idea where to start because I have never played a p2p game before 😅.
I'm from Singapore.

Does buying the PC download Standard edition for $9.90 give me the game and some free time after my 14 day trial is over?
Why is it $49.99 or something through the FFXIV website?
For those looking to get the digital download, here a tip:
DON'T BUY THE DIGITAL DOWNLOAD FROM THE SQUARE ENIX STORE!
Digital River, Square-Enix's distributor is awful and should be avoided as much as possible. The distributor has had a reputation of being very unreliable in the past. Even a moderator admit that they've had "plenty of issues" with them through the years.
After you make your purchase, you don't immediately don't get your game code. Aside from the "Thank you for your order. Your order is being processed and you will be notified of the result shortly" message after you confirm your purchase, you don't get even get as much as a confirmation email telling you that your order has been received. You will still get charged for your order. According to a Digital River support representative, they need between 24-72 hours to "review" your information... on a digital download, after they've charged you for the product. This might be fine in some instances (but it's still done in poor taste), if they informed you of the delays before your purchase. But alas that's not how they do things and SE doesn't seem to have taken any action to rectify this.
You can try to find your order at this site, but you might not find it if your order has not been reviewed (which can take more than two hours, according to reports from the SE forums). It's almost as if Square-Enix hates money -- with, partners like Digital River, no wonder they're struggling financially.
Even if you contact SE support, they'll just direct you to Digital River's support line. For those of who who have already ordered the digital download and have not received your game code (or even a confirmation email), you can call Digital River's customer support at 1-866-585-3251 or cancel your order by following the instructions.
If you or anyone you know would like to try FFXIV:ARR, while they might not offer the same discount, redirect them to any of these other sites (for you folks in North America). I've deal with the following or know people who have and I know that you won't have to deal with all the waiting and frustration with these distributors:
tl;dr: Don't buy digital products from the Square-Enix store, they use Digital River (their distributor) charges you and them makes you wait to get your game code. Save yourself the trouble and wait for it to go on else elsewhere.
