Kiss your social life goodbye!

Honestly though I have had mine for a week and my number one piece of advice: buy a necklace fan. I use mine every time I play in VR and it DOES get pretty warm, you WILL sweat. Using the fan will keep you cool and keep your investment safe from water damage and unsightly sweat stains on the face cushion of the actual device. I can not recommend it enough.

Also, try not hitting stuff with the controllers but if you do you should be more worried about the object you hit because the touch controllers are built like absolute tanks. Some people even call them indestructible.

Fitting the headset has been atrocious for me and no matter what I do to try and get it to fit correctly, it just does not work with my head shape. I had to make a counterweight to put on the back of the device. Read over this post by TrefoilHat and hopefully you will have a more comfortable rifting experience than I do.

Depending on how many sensors you are using and if you are mounting them to walls/ceiling or not you may want to look into extension cords and actual mounts.

There are tons of posts on this oculus reddit page and oculus forums, look around if you have any questions. A lot of people post when new things come out or go on sale as well as lists of free games and apps for new players like ourselves. Extremely nice community and very helpful.

Welcome to the future and happy rifting!

Okay, listen. I know The Truth. The One Great Truth. and I'm going to share it with you. Ready? Here it is:

Fans.

Yes, fans. Those things that push air around. Get a reliable little 10+ inch personal fan for ~15 bucks, like this or this. It'll last you years.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Fans, really? That's the ultimate truth of the universe?

Yes. Fans are everything.

You only need one. Put it on a stand next to your bed, about 1-2 feet away from where your face will be. Aim it properly, turn it on, wrap yourself up and enjoy pure bliss. Your body will be warm and your face will be caressed by a pleasant cool breeze for the entire night. Hot flashes? Who gives a shit? Just turn that baby up one notch and go back to sleep. Boom, done.

It's not an exaggeration when to say that for me, sleeping with a fan is at least twice as easy and enjoyable as without. I've been sleeping this way for at least a decade.

Here are just a few bullet points in case you're not completely head over your heels in love with fans yet.

  • They practically block out all noise, cutting through distractions and allowing you to sleep through everything but your alarm clock.

  • They keep your face pleasantly cool, and provide a little cooling to your upper body as well, depending on how many covers you have.*

  • They make it easier and more comfortable to breathe

  • They astound your friends and make your enemies jealous

  • They provide a soothing canvas of white noise for you to project your dreams upon.

  • They cure cancer

Don't listen to the Koreans. Sleeping with a fan on won't hurt you. If anything it will make you stronger. Praise the fan.

I dry for ten+ days at 60%, and IMO it's almost impossible to get a bad result if you do it like I do. I use an Inkbird RH controller connected to a blower and a humidifier to hold my dry tent very steady at 60% RH. I hang my colas for ten days plus. My herb is ready for trimming and jarring at 10 days, but it doesn't matter at all if I leave it in there for ten weeks. I don't check stems for dryness- I just give it 10 days or more. My herb usually ends up spending 14 or 21 days in the dry tent because I do most of my garden work on weekends.

I trim my bud in front of the TV with the room humidified to 60%. I keep a hygrometer on the coffee table. That way I don't have to worry about my herb drying out as I trim. I use clear 1 quart wide-mouth Mason jars. I fill them to 3/4 which is about an ounce. You need enough room in the jars to shake free the nugs when they stick together.

Good luck, brother. I hope you get a real nice result.

Burping/curing: You want a dark place to store your jars that you can easily access each day. Ideally you want temps at 55F-75F. Curing isn't magic. It's mainly just the process of chlorophyll breaking down and gassing off. Here's how I burp a pound of weed in 5 minutes- Pick up jar, shake, loosen lid, put down jar, repeat for all jars. Remove all of the lids and set aside. Use a personal fan like this to blow out the jars. Re-lid and your done.

I burp daily for the first two weeks. Every other day for the next two weeks. Twice a week for the next two weeks. One a week from week 6 to 12. Once a month after that. You will have harsh but smokeable weed that probably wont give you a headache after three weeks of cure. You will have weed that smokes like like decent street/dispensary weed at six weeks. Your shit really starts smoothing out at 3 months. At six months you are at peak cure and quality.

8x4x1 Salt blocks x10:
I got them from this user on ebay as they seem to have the cheapest

Total Cost: ~$350-$400
I don't remember how much I paid for tax and all that

I went with this cooling even though its a little smaller than I would have liked just because of the glass door. Love the fact that I can check out my meats without having to open the door and create an inconsistent environment. A thing to note though, is out of the box, the base temperature of the bev center is around 40-44 degrees F. I read that the ideal temperature is between 34-40, so I had to tweak the internal thermostat a bit. This was a huge help. It took me a few days to calibrate it to the temp range I wanted, but for how it seems to be holding steady around 38 degrees which is fine by me.

The humidity doesn't seem like something I can control too well. I live in SF and the humidity of my room stays about 70-80%, but the bev center with nothing in it stayed around 30-40%. That's a little too low for my liking, and even adding a bowl of water didn't seem to help. With the meat inside, it stabilized around 60%, which I'm a little more happy with. I would prefer it hit around 65%, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

The depth of the bev center is a bit too shallow to get a whole roast in, so I ended up having to cut it in half.

I lined the walls with salt blocks, but the grates are only around 7/8". I ended up having to expand the space of the edges with a crowbar so the salt blocks could fit.

I added the fan on the bottom to add circulation. The cord is small enough where I didn't have to mod the bev center door so that it could fit through.

All in all, I like how the rig turned out. I probably should have taken some intermediate pictures, but oh well.

Let me know if there's anything else you would like some clarification on.

Hey no problem, open the transmission area, see what size pinion is in it - and let us know, it's usually printed or stamped on it somewhere. Also take note of the size of your motor shaft, some are 5mm some are smaller.

It should be a 48P setup, most redcats are, but the owner could have put something different in it...

I can likely link you to a spur / pinion that should heat it slower but you will lose top speed a bit. So if you want that speed, you're gonna have to buy a rechargable field fan, just a little pocket fan and stick it under the lexan every 5 minutes or so for 5 minutes or so : )

the one I got was like 11 bucks(14 my bad), lasts 3 hours on the highest speed, and puts out a ton of air it just cools everything, sometimes I even strap it in and just leave it running lolz while I bash (also if it's a hot day, some water on the neck / forehead and the fan is tits bananas!)

https://www.amazon.com/Mini-Handheld-Fan-VersionTECH-Rechargeable/dp/B01HGI0S6O/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1539620517&sr=8-4&keywords=portable+fan this what I use on my rigs that are tuned to temp out if bashed hard - I just use some velcro straps and hope for the best, seems to work better than little tiny dedicated fans.

I bought a few cheap misting fans last year:
https://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-Carabiner-Misting-Fan-Teal/dp/B00TQPO3DU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1494942595&sr=8-6&keywords=mist+fan

I'm pretty sure they were O2 cool. They lasted throughout the weekend, they didn't move that much air but you could definitely feel it and didn't have to exert extra energy to create the movement of air.

More importantly, imo, the misting feature was SO refreshing in that heat. Spraying it on your forehead, chest, and especially back of the neck felt like an instant body temp cool-down of a couple degree. I highly recommend a mister over an old school hand fan

We recently did a trip with our 4-month-old, and it was fine! I brought her chair and SnuggleMe pillow that she sleeps in. I LOVE the sit-me-up chair, and it's lightweight and folds up easily, so it's not a hassle to travel with it. It was good to pop her in when I was getting ready and to bring her in the bathroom with me. The hotel had cribs available and set one up in the room for us. To bring all the stuff up to the room, I used a ring sling and asked for a luggage cart that I loaded up. Backpack on my back. You can unload everything and then put baby back in the carseat and go park.

If you're pumping or using bottles, you might want to have an AC adaptor for your car and bring travel size soap and an on-the-go drying rack and bottle brush. I also brought a small fan for LO, since I've dealt with a lot of wonky AC units in hotel rooms.

Ask for your room to have a microwave and fridge! I would order from Ubereats/GrubHub/Favor or something like that instead of room service. Or if the hotel has a restaurant, call in your order to pick it up downstairs and save some $$$.

Good luck!

I’m pretty much you! My 4 month old also runs hot in general and absolutely cooks in the Mesa car seat. My A/C on max doesn’t seem to cool her all that well so I bought this clip on fan ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01FFWG0I8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title ) to use while in the car and while she’s in her stroller. Works great! I also added a stroller toy arch for a little distraction. I also keep her in her car seat instead of the rumbler for smaller errands like Target runs so that she positively associates car seat with getting out of the house and looking at new people and things. It’s gotten better little by little. I suspect she doesn’t like the Mesa car seat too much. She protested less when I rolled up a blanket and put it under her butt. It made the seat a little less deep so she wasn’t contorted/folded in half as much. Good luck!

u/dumfuq · 1 pointr/bonnaroo

This is the same type of umbrella we use, though I got mine at Sam's club for a little better of a price than this one. You can attach it to your canopy or just have it sort of floating between your car and canopy. (Here's my camp if that helps give a better idea)We get these fans in the camping section of walmart. They do take 8 D batteries each which seems like a lot lol, but I've never had to change batteries.

I have not gone VIP, no. I've never been in a long line to get into Centeroo once. Maybe I just pick good times, but I've never waited for than probably 5 minutes. If you just search VIP in this sub you will get tons of pro/con lists for VIP camping. If you have the money to do it, most people would say do it. I would definitely read from some people who have experience though, since I don't!

Re: crowds - you won't ever regret arriving in time for rope drop. You can get a whole lot done in the first few hours of the day when the crowds are lower. Then leave the park when it's getting busier and it's the heat of the day. Return to your hotel for a nap or swim, then return again later in the day.

Re: heat.

  • Stay hydrated! You can get a free cup of ice water at any counter service restaurant. No need to pay for bottled water unless you can't stand the taste of Florida tap water.

  • Wear a hat! No exceptions!

  • They sell battery powered mister fans at the parks but a) they're expensive and b) they're big. I mooched one of these off my nephews. It's about the size of a deck of cards and does a good job of providing a cool breeze and then stores easily.

  • Sunscreen! Apply liberally before you leave your hotel. Most people don't put on enough. Re-apply every couple of hours. Here is some more info on sunscreen.

  • If you're overheating at the Magic Kingdom and need to cool off, head to the Hall of Air Conditioning Presidents or Carousel of Air Conditioning Progress.

  • When it's crazy hot outside and I'm all sweaty, I find that when I go into somewhere with the AC blasting I will then freeze. I always take a thin light weight, long sleeved hoodie with me to put on when I'm suddenly too cold. I leave it tied around my waist when I'm outside.

  • Go easy on the alcohol since it dehydrates you. I find I like getting lemonade instead of pop/soda. Use the heat as an excuse to get ice cream! The All American Sundae at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is my fave. I also never say no to a frozen Coke and cream cheese pretzel from the Lunching Pad.

I'm in Florida, so I got recommendations for fans and lights.

This is an excellent fan, runs on 6 D batteries. Plus it has a light built in. https://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-Portable-Lighting-Accessories-3-Adjustable/dp/B01H583DJ4

For lights, something like this is good: https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Portable-Camping-Lantern-Batteries/dp/B01C5QSENQ
They run off AA batteries. They will light up half a room, easily. And they are easy start: just lift the handle, and they turn on.

Another option for lighting are those battery operated pillar candles. They run on a timer, so 6 on, 18 off. You can set them to turn on at dark and they can run every evening. These are not good for reading, but great for ambience and for getting around the house at night (bathroom, etc). They are very popular around Xmas, and you can usually get them pretty cheap.

u/waful77 · 1 pointr/shrimptank

yeah its weird but if you just have a fan blowing over the surface of the water, it actually will help cool it down. mine would get up to 85 too but now it doesnt go past 78..... I bought this fan cause of the awesome clip it has but its pretty pricy.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FXOFO7W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have it hooked up to the same timer as my light so that it would be off at night.
Also this method requires you to replace water at a much higher rate than you're used to

u/sleepycarl10 · 1 pointr/bonnaroo

I have 3 battery powered fans. Out of all 3 I think this one is the best one. Its smaller but that makes it portable and it has a lot of power (more than the next two I have) and has rechargeable batteries which are a big plus!

This one is nice to have hanging from the ceiling in your tent and also has a nice light for at night but its not that powerful at all and takes 2 D batteries.

Lastly this is the one you can get from walmart or amazon. It takes the most batteries (6 D batteries) but has pretty good power if its close to you. It can be awkward to position in your tent for it to actually cool you off depending on your sleeping situation...

u/snmnky9490 · 1 pointr/microgrowery

Those three seem like a pretty good start.

I'd also get an internal air circulation fan like this or this, and a fan speed controller for your main ventilation fan so it doesn't always have to be on 100% super loud full blast all day.

Are you growing in soil or hydro? Do you have your nutrients, soil or grow media, and pots or net buckets picked out already too?

u/cozymel77 · 5 pointsr/WaltDisneyWorld

I know it's been said already, but it will be very humid. The humidity is what always gets to me. We're in the parks once a week and every time I get in the parking lot I think, 'Oh this isn't too bad, there's a breeze...' but when you get in the park, the amount of people just increase it by 10 degrees. Just pace yourselves, do more inside shows (H.S. is really good for those) ((Pro Tip: The Little Mermaid show in HS is not only super air conditioned, but it also sprays water on you during the show, its very refreshing on a hot day))
Also, take advantage of extra magic hours, not only will the parks be not as crowded, but it's either in early AM or late at night. We've done a rest day at the hotel and then hitting up MK extra magic from 6pm-midnight.

If you havent purchased a personal fan yet, I strongly recommend the O2Cool. It has by far surpassed the $6 I spent on it.
Here is a link to it on amazon, but seriously I bought it at CVS for $6, so amazon in this case is a rip off lol.
https://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-Deluxe-Necklace-Fan-Raspberry/dp/B00IIAFHZ2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1525872522&sr=8-5&keywords=o2cool

If it were me I would cut out a 4 inch hole in both the top and bottom shelf, then put a 4 inch greenhouse fan in the bottom shelf so that is pulling air in to the cabinet and pushing it up towards the top. Then I would cover the hole in the top shelf with some sort of air vent or other air permeable material. I would also leave the fan running 24/7. That would be an optimal solution.

Or you can stick one of these guys on the bottom shelf pointing up to circulate the air inside. It is still a decent solution!!

u/WubbaLubbaDubStep · 3 pointsr/shroomers

Yeahhhh ya gotta fan those good. Great advice.

It's always a long process, though. You don't start growing shrooms to have them in a few weeks... you gotta plan 3-4 months out.

Takes me about 12 weeks from start to finish for even just the first flush.

Edit: I forgot... CONGRATS! Seeing them first sprout the first time is such a cool experience. Happy for ya bud!

Edit 2: Speaking of fanning... this bad boy has been working wonders

u/Minyatur · 2 pointsr/orchids

I have a very simple growth space, since most of my orchids are generic NOID. My husband and I share the greenhouse, where he has carnivores plants on the top shelf and I get the bottom shelf for my orchids. We lined our greenhouse with foil to help retain some of the heat and light. We also have the greenhouse set up on an 9(?) hour automatic timer with a monitor that automatically turns on the humidifier if it drops below 60%.

Overall, all the den set up in the back and oncidium, Miltoniopsis & Zygo in the front. The fan is set to the left side of the greenhouse and blowing diagonally across due to a temporary overcrowded greenhouse. I hadn’t figure out where to put my Maui lollipop yet, since it’s so small compare to the other ones

The overall condition is intermediate, humidity 70-80%, temp between 55-80F for night and day difference. The light is about medium shades?

u/purgedreality · 2 pointsr/orlando

My SO gets hot very quickly and would love to keep the A/C at 70-71, but for the last two summers she has been spot cooling with one of these and it's worked out -very- well. Like I can bump it to 76. She rarely needs to use the high setting and doesn't need to recharge it that often. Great to take to the theme parks too. Don't forget to keep those blinds closed and don't use the oven!

u/artemisdragmire · 1 pointr/furry

Barring installing a fan, one of these might help:

https://www.amazon.com/O2COOL-FN02001-Deluxe-Necklace-Fan/dp/B00TQPO3C6/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=lanyard+fan&qid=1556060681&s=gateway&sr=8-2

There was someone selling these in the dealers den at TFF, and I bought one out of curiosity. All I can say is, holy crap, best $15 I ever spent. I was able to full suit MUCH longer than I normally am able to.

I just wore it around my neck and grabbed it, turned it on, and placed it directly in my suit's muzzle when I felt like I was getting a little warm or my lenses started fogging up (my suit has prescription lenses in it so I can see).

For such a cheap little device, it does a surprisingly good job of pushing a fair bit of air, and the fact you can just wear it on a lanyard like you probably will already have your badges on makes it perfect for fursuiting at conventions. Plus.. it fits inside the muzzle or under the neck fluff really easily for a quick cool burst of air.

It's not going to solve all your problems, but it might be something that'll help.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Not the most portable but get yourself one of these. I find that the actual laptop fans that you sit the laptop on or whatever just do not cut it at all. I keep mine on the side where it gets the hottest and it cools it down very quickly. This fan is strong and as a bonus I can usually aim it to hit the laptop and me at the same time :P Double cooling.

Everyone else has given a ton of good advice, only thing I wanted to add is we bought a small rechargeable fan and use that to make sure his butt is nice and dry before putting on any cream. He is SUPER prone to diaper rash and it has helped a lot.

If you don’t want to DIY simple wipes, the ones I’ve found with the absolute shortest ingredients list are the wipes from Dyper (they’re mainly a subscription diaper service) - bamboo, water, and aloe, nothing else.

u/BoogerPresley · 1 pointr/washingtondc

It's much easier for guys- a lot of men's dress slacks are usually lightweight & breathable polyester, I'll wear that with a polyester polo (like a golf or soccer shirt) and then change into a collared work shirt at the office. That's probably not as viable an option for you, but if you can it makes a big difference. On really hot days you can hit it a few times with a spray water bottle and stick it in the freezer for 15 minutes prior to riding in. a soft-bladed desk fan works wonders. In addition, I have a small towel or two at the office and use baby wipes/rubbing alcohol + cotton pads. I also keep a can of soda in the office fridge- not to drink, but to press against myself to help cool down:/ A more upright cycling posture means you're less aerodynamic, but that also means more airflow and sometimes helps cool, but does little when it's 90℉+ and humid.

u/chobby2 · 1 pointr/bonnaroo

Oooh, I brought this one in 2014 and loveddddd it. Never had any difficulty sleeping due to the heat.

This is the first year I've been able to come back, and since I loved this fan so much, I bought this new tinier fan (https://www.target.com/p/treva-5-portable-volcano-fan-gray/-/A-54114406) to bring in to Centeroo for whenever I feel like lounging around on a blanket in the back. And because I'm a real psychopath who hates the heat, I bought this even TINIER fan (https://www.amazon.com/O2-Cool-Necklace-Fan-Assorted/dp/B00X8AQ8P0) to hang around my neck when I'm moving around. Here's hoping it doesn't suck up and rip out my hair lol

The top one worked wonders at edc last year... the bottom I’ve used on different heat related excursions where its ability to hold more water offset its slightly bulkier size (camping/hiking).

Edit: I can only vouch for these that have the ability to mist water as your body removes heat best by evaporation. Those that can not mist seem like they wouldn't be of too much help, unless you're sweating profusely (which is certainly plausible), since they would just be blowing the same 90 degree heat around.

Lots of water before, during, and after the game
Eat something salty

(PS. The tiger band sits in the sunniest corner of the stadium wearing t shirts, dark purple wool bibbers sorta like overalls, and thick wool jackets. I learned to handle that heat as a student in the band long before I had the neck fan as an alum.)

So this is my humidifier setup for my fruiting tent. Despite the fan running 24x7 I apparently do not have enough FAE to grow well formed oysters. What's the best way to fix it?

Would something like this blowing out from the bottom suffice? If not, what should I try?

My park bag usually includes:

  • This is the bag I use. It's lightweight, sturdy, stowable, and the perfect size. You can usually find it on sale on Eddie Bauer's website.
  • An extra ziplock bag. (To keep stuff dry)
  • This personal fan for those hot days.
  • A buff.
  • Portable chargers.
  • A mini first aid kit.
  • A small tube of sunscreen.

Some unusual items I usually pack in my suitcase:

  • A surge protector for the hotel room - charging my phone, watch, camera, etc. at the end of the day.
  • This Chafing Relief Gel from Target is a lifesaver on my inner thighs.

I just used the below fan all weekend and it helped tremendously. Was quiet on low setting so my wife didn’t even know I had it on me till she moved in front of it in the morning. The D batteries mean it is very heavy so for car camping only. I’m still on my first set of batteries and has been out a few times in a year and they still work.

u/Teerlys · 5 pointsr/preppers

There are limited options to deal with the heat, especially when trying to sleep. I'm in the north and think it sucks in the upper 80's. You guys further south must really be suffering. So this is what I was able to put together.

  • Cheap

If it's not too humid you can snag yourself and your family Arctic Ties. I've used these before and, when tied around your neck after absorbing water, they really do help. You can also use things like wet handkerchiefs, spray bottles, and even get yourself a hand fan.

Alternately, you could try dampening a top sheet and laying under that if it's dry enough to evaporate. Also, if there's a breeze, supposedly hanging a wet sheet a little ways in front of the window will help, though I can't vouch for that one personally.

Lastly, if you have a finished underground basement, check on what the temp is like down there. Even partial submergence underground and the fact that heat rises will likely keep it cooler than the first or second floor.

  • Middle Ground

Take a look at adding Camp Fans into the mix. They'll chew through some batteries, but you can bulk up on those ahead of time and make it through without needing major investments. You can also look at oddball solutions like the Chillow (I have no idea if this works well or not)

If you're a do-it-yourself kind of guy, Survival Life has some instructions to a solar powered air conditioner that supposedly outputs air at 65-40 degrees depending on the water temp. Add some ice to that and it could give some nice windows of tolerable temperatures so long as it has power.

  • Expensive

Here you're looking at either/both generators and/or solar. Solar won't do as much if it's solid cloud cover unless you drop some serious dollars on a battery wall, but once that's over you could at least potentially have some power during the day and could charge devices (battery chargers?) to help you get through the night.
u/acinonyxjubatusrex · 2 pointsr/fursuit

I'm lucky in that my head is very well ventilated, but the stuffiness of breathing in recycled air still gets me, so I understand what you mean. I know some fursuiters who wear a small battery-operated fan like this around their neck and stick it into their muzzle whenever they need a blast of cool air. Is it possible for you to hollow out the snout more and make space to install a fan? Other than that, I'm not really sure what else you could do.

u/FattyTfromPSD · 3 pointsr/CampingGear

It’s a touch of dorky but my family uses those O2Cool neck fans w/ rechargeable AA batteries. Each person then gets their own to use as they wish and they work pretty well.

I ordered a bunch of stuff for this year. I went a little amazon crazy.

I stubbed my toe on a tent stake last year so I ordered these glow in the dark tent stakes.

I figured this blow up couch would be a cool addition to our campsite.

I got one of these battery powered fans for my tent.

I ordered a few of these batter powered led lights in different colors for decoration.

I ordered like 4 of these portable fans for our camping group to clip onto their camel packs for the daytime heat.

I ordered this portable battery pack to keep my phone charged.

I ordered a 300 pack of glowsticks 100 for each day.

I ordered these light shooter things. They are fun to play with in the camping grounds.

I ordered one of these anti chafe sticks for my fat legs. It's truly a life saver.

Also I ordered The Watterpuff for obvious reasons.

This is pretty much what my setup looks like, although with tons more devices and small switches scattered around the house xD. My primary switch is one of these, but they have a cheaper 8-port as well. Most of my gear is in a closet so I have a fan looming over it on low, keeping things cool. Also, putting it all on a UPS means that you can finish sendind that email (or wrapping up that online game) if the power goes out, very handy.

I do not have an Ubiquiti AP yet. From what I know they use PoE, but somehow I doubt they ship with no way to power them out of the box. I have heard they do not play very well with Apple products, in which case I would suggest an AirPort Express (or Time Capsule for that wonderful 24/7 backup) as an additional AP.

The EdgeRouter setup tutorials on the Wiki are designed for WAN on port 0, LAN on port 1, and WLAN on port 2, which would mean the AP would plug right into the router. I personally did not do this, I mixed the LAN and WAN and connected exactly as your picture shows. Let me know if you need any help setting it up.

Maybe stick it around her neck. Sometimes simple is better. But hey, what do I know? Maybe I've never been anywhere where heat stroke is common in people who wear fancy outfits in summer heat.

I don't have a whole lot to add for help, but for the heat my wife has found using O2 Cool fans https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IIAFHZ2/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_3_w/144-8520162-1819851 has helped immensely with overheating. They are small, cheap, and can help her stop the worsening of the symptoms if she feels the overheating coming on.

Diet can also have a profound impact on depression and emotions, You didn't mention if healthy diet already, but everyone is different and a healthy diet can definitely help on the mental side, along with some studies showing diet can help with MS (I think nutrition is very personal though and there is no one size fits all). All the other advice here is also really important, probably even more so, but this is something that you can potentially control on the home front.

Would recommend a different light for 4 plants in that space. As others have said, a quantum board of COB would be better. If you go the COB / Quantum board route i'm not even sure if you'll need extensive ventilation.

Also, are you going to use FFOF and coco/perlite? I'm confused.

Bit of an expensive power strip, could probably save a few bucks there.

One thing you're missing for sure is a small fan to circulate air. like this

Only time I got VIP was at Vendetta, and you got access to bleacher seats. Compared to general access who had to stand the whole event, fucking worth it. Went to another event, the one with the Oxxymiron battle, and VIP just got closer standing room to the stage, so not worth it that time.

All I can say is bring cash for merch or the bar, wear comfy shoes since you'll be standing, a charge battery for your phone, and if you got one of those handheld electric fans, might wanna bring one because the body heat of the crowd turns the place into an oven later

hey dude! There are 4 things for this scenario!

  1. you should try circulating the air a bit better. Depending on size, you could get away with using an old computer fan. I use this little monster in one of my chest freezers and it keeps the temps even from top to bottom:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WT6Z54/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  2. pull the fridge away from the wall and vacuum all the gnarly dust/debris that messes with the condenser coils

  3. fill the empty shelves w/ bottled water as it holds cold temps better than air

  4. get a little dehumidifier. I have one of the wireless eva units in my keezer, and a jar of damp-rid in my other one

this is the best thing i have bought for my wet suit. it is especially good for the winter, when it takes longer for it to dry.

u/EatMoreCrisps · 2 pointsr/bikecommuting

Nope, I don't change. However, I can work in shorts in the summer. The key to remaining fresh is not whether you sweat a bit, but how clean you and your clothes are when you do.

If you sweat with a dirty body or clothes, you'll foster some pungent smells. If you shower in the morning and ride in in clean clothes, you're unlikely to generate any unpleasantness.

Some people refuse to believe this and get quite irate at the suggestion; I don't know why. My wife knows that it's very important to me that she tells me if I smell, and I've even asked our small children about it, with their sensitive noses... And believe me, they don't hold back their opinions.

The sweaty time is the time immediately after getting off, when the heat you generated isn't getting blown off by the breeze. For that a fan at the desk is good. I like these Zippi fans - nearly silent.

Overnight in the desert the temps can drop dramatically, like a 40-50 degree swing. When I lived in Tucson for a few years the summer nights were mid 70s. Depending on where you are going I would check the average highs and lows. I think you'll be fine temp wise overnight if you set up a battery powered fan or two top promote air movement. During the day however.... that's a different story.

Get a small fan to shove in your muzzle from time to time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TQPO3C6 works great. Has a lanyard built-in, so you can hang badges from it too.

u/sirblastalot · 12 pointsr/fursuit

General Storage:

Get a big storage box, one of the ones that looks like this. (Not recommending that particular one, just an example of the style I'm talking about.) You'll probably be traveling with this, for furcons and such, so make sure it fits in the trunk of your car and/or meets the requirements for a checked bag on your airline of choice. I also highly recommend getting one with wheels so it doesn't take both hands and brute strength to move it around.

Head Storage:

Get one of these styrofoam heads, and keep your fursuit head on it. I got one for a buck or two from a nearby Ulta. This will keep the inside in shape. If your real-life head is bigger than the styrofoam one, you can bulk it out some with duct tape and scrap cardboard. Wherever you keep your fursuit head, make sure it's not squished at all. If your box is big enough, you can just leave it in there. I keep mine on top of a bookshelf.

Bodysuit Storage:

You want to hang your bodysuit up. If you fold it, the fur can get kinked, and it will never brush out soft and smooth again. I use one of these wetsuit dryers, and I highly recommend them. It's made for holding heavier clothes than a regular coat hanger, the shoulders are rounded such that you won't stretch it the same way a regular coat hanger would, and, most importantly, it has a built-in fan in the top of it, which really helps your suit dry out before it can get funky. Which leads me to suit care...

Drying:

Getting your suit dry after you use it is really really important. Get a cheapo desk fan ( I have one of these ) and put your head on it after you wear it. (Without the styrofoam wig head inserted, of course.) Hang the bodysuit up (ideally using the wetsuit dryer mentioned above) and lay the paws and miscellaneous bits out where they can dry. Never EVER just take the suit off and leave it in a pile, or stuff it in your box. Stuff will grow in it right away, and you will stink to high heaven.

It may be overkill, but I also keep some of these desiccant packs in my box, just to make sure it stays dry.

Sanitizing:

Get a little spray bottle from a drug store and fill it with a 50/50 solution of rubbing alcohol and water. Whenever you take your suit off, spray every surface down with this mixture, especially the inside. This will help keep unpleasant things from growing in it. Don't use undiluted rubbing alcohol, because it will actually evaporate too quick to finish killing everything. Don't use febreeze, perfumes, or other sanitizers. The febreeze and perfumes will just (badly) mask all the nasty smells without killing the source. Other cleaners can leave residue, and most of them you really, really don't want to be breathing in the next time you wear your suit.

Brushing:

You'll want to brush your suit after you wear it, so that the fur doesn't get kinked and you don't look mangy. Get a wire cat brush and run it down the fur with the hooks facing backwards, such that they don't catch. You'll still pull out a little fluff, but it shouldn't be real bad, and you'll end up yanking out a lot more if you let the fur get matted anyway.

Washing:

Washing fursuits is hard, and to be avoided if possible. If your fursuit smells noticeably, you need to wash it, but if you're letting it dry and spraying it with alcohol, you can go a long time before it needs to be washed. Everytime you wash it, you'll inevitably lose a bit of the fluff.

Anything with foam in it is going to be problematic. If parts of your costume are just fur fabric, you can machine-wash them. Washing temperature depends on the fabric your suitbuilder used; consult them, or the store you got the fabric from. Turn the pieces inside-out. To dry, you can machine-dry them on NO HEAT/AIRDRY, or you can hang them up to dry. Never use a dryer with the heat on; it's pretty easy to melt the fur together, ruining the suit. You may be able to get away with the 'low heat' setting, but it's highly dependent on your dryer and the fabric, and I don't suggest risking it.

Pieces that contain foam should be spot-cleaned. (Get a damp washcloth or something and just dab the insides, rinsing the washcloth out repeatedly.) If that's not enough, you can submerge them in your bathtub and do some cleaning there, but don't do so if you don't have to. You run a good chance of messing up your head if you submerge it. Also, it will take a very long time for foam to dry; spray it with the alcohol and use whatever fans you have around to expedite the process. Never machine-dry any foam parts; they'll likely break from the tumbling.

Best thing I ever got was simply one of these little countertop fans that will simply blow the onion vapors away while I cut, plus it's nice to have some airflow.

Fans will work to lower temp pretty well. I use 2 regular clip on fans, and they'll lower temp 4 degrees or so on my 130 gal (I live in Los Angeles and won't turn AC on until it gets to about 86+ in the house). I know you have a sump so it might not be too bad, but I'd be kind of weary with lids on the top- exchange of gas between the water and air very important for regulating ph and alk. Just some food for thought. Also, if you're concerned about jumping fish, you can get clear netting to make screens for the top. BRS sells DIY kits but you can also get supplies from big box hardware stores.

I was thinking of getting fans like these:
Lasko clip fan 6 inch or West point 4 inch
My growbed is 15 in by 18 in. What do you think?

u/sk8er4514 · 1 pointr/bikecommuting

I use a small fan to dry out my shoes after playing disc golf, same concept for wet shoes after biking. I just put it on top of the shoes and let it blow into the openings. Works really really well.

u/AttractiveNuisance37 · 1 pointr/pelotoncycle

I use a big floor fan, but I also use a small clip-on fan. I like getting air flow from multiple angles, and being able to angle the little fan straight at my face is clutch toward the end of the ride.

I use this one, and have no complaints: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B014THFEKK/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That is the fan I bought and it works amazingly. But I will say I have to do water changed every 3 days or so because the fan makes the water evaporate so quickly.

u/ButGravityAlwaysWins · 1 pointr/WaltDisneyWorld

We were there the last week of August and the heat and humidity, especially with the hurricane coming in, was pretty brutal.

For the kids we got these small water spray bottles which were way cheaper than the bottles in the park and much smaller. I clipped them to a cheap carabiner on the stroller and they worked well. I had extra batteries and didn't need them. We got an extra and used it since my daughter decided to throw hers 'for fun' and broke it.

We rented a stroller and it helped a lot to prevent the kids from getting exhausted.

At one point my daughter was about to have a meltdown and I took her to the baby area. even though she is four they didn't have any issue letting her sit and watch the show playing on the TV and just cool off / calm down.

Put a thermometer at the same height as your plants. I think you'll be surprised how hot it is there, lettuce wants to stick around ~75 F or lower. 4 inches away, that light may be too hot.

If that's the case try adding one of those small portable fans they sell, to cool the tubes. I have one just like that, at the same height as the tubes and pointed at them, and it reduced the temp in there by 3-4 degrees on its own.

u/vagabondadventure · 2 pointsr/GoRVing

I have two of these that work well enough as clip-in and can stand on a flat surface.

I bought one of these many years back. It would work well in the application, though it doesnt move quite as much air as a traditional fan.

u/UserM16 · 2 pointsr/flashlight

I decided to wrap it clear incase I forget that there's no markings on the body and try to peel off the wrap to peak inside again. One down side is that if the wrap starts to wear out, it's hard to tell without a close inspection. Luckily that battery came with and lives inside the handheld fan which gets charged via micro usb. What's crazy to me is that the fan has a overcharger/discharge circuit built in. Best $13 I spent this summer!

u/Mackelday · 1 pointr/3Dprinting

I have a clip on fan like this one that I use with my Creator Pro. I'd recommend lowering your temperature and lowering your speed.

u/TheMadFlyentist · 2 pointsr/orlando

Without a generator your only option is battery power. A small fan like this one should run for around 40-50 hours on a fully charged car battery.

Reviews on this fan claim it can run up to two nights on six D-cell batteries.

I picked up a cheap clip-on fan from Amazon (similar to this) that has proven indispensable for maintaining pellet-fueled fires.

Surfing gift are tough, because there is a lot of personal preference involved in selecting surf gear, and most surfers already have everything they need. Are you somewhere that the water is cold? A powered wetsuit drying hanger and/o a boot dryer that he could use to dry booties would be something he may not have.

It's non-trivial to the point of requiring physical modification of the unit and several additional components.

I suggest either getting a battery bank that already has an inverter or get a fan that connects to USB. Heck, there are fans with batteries that charge from USB.

It sounds like your thermometer is inaccurate. Check it against boiling water and a glass full of ice and water.

Besides that, freezers do a bad job (or no job) of circulating air within the unit when they are operating, causing temperature stratification. Pick up one of these and let it run all the time you will have a much more consistent temps throughout the freezer.

Also, since you mentioned frost on the side, get one of these too. It will remove moisture from the air before it has a chance to condense and freeze on the sides. Just remember to recharge it once a month or so.

THIS WORKS. I bought a mini desk fan ( this one ) and simply put it beside the cutting board, pointing it away from me to blow the fumes away as I chop. I used to have an absolutely terrible time cutting onions, in fact I would often have to walk away for a while and then return to finish the job, but not anymore.

The key to this is nipping the problem in the bud. Hang it up on a forced air hanger every time you get off hot track to get out the sweat.

I'm inland Florida, so here are my tips.

Are you near a river that floods? Find out, because inland river flooding is a PITA. Even if you don't get hit, if upriver gets hit, you're going to be hurting.

Inland, you're going to be worried mainly about wind and trees falling, so structure damage and losing power.

This is a tropical storm, so expect several days of really hot, really sunny days after a big wind goes through. The other response covers most of what you need, but the major thing missing is ways of getting cool. Most modern buildings are built with the expectation of A/C, so they turn into ovens without it.

So here's my recommended list:

  • Big, good cooler. This is where you store your food that you are going to be eating around day 3 and 4.
  • Cheap, styrofoam cooler. This is for drinks for the day of the storm. Also good for condiments for sandwiches: mayo, jam, etc
  • Another cooler, not so nice. This is for day 2 and 3.
  • Even more ice. Stick it in your fridge and freezer and don't open the door until the power comes back on. Once you open the door, you're screwed.
  • LED lights. I use these.
  • Battery powered fans. I use this. It's going to be hot as hell, so you want to be cool.

Avoid candles. It's a heat source that is just going to be making your life miserable.
