Rune Factory 4 | Metacritic (78/8.0) | 3DS - $39.99 USD
---
> Rune Factory 4 is a game I always wanted to try, but never got around to justifying the $40 price tag. Luckily after a few trades in at the local game store a fresh copy happened to be traded-in by someone else and I was able to snag it half off.
> A fun game, and true to its predecessor’s tagline, “A fantasy Harvest Moon”. The game focuses on farming, monster raising, and dungeon crawling. Though the curve is a little weird to get used too, I felt I very quickly pushed to level 50 in the first act, all within the first Spring. Then quickly became underpowered with less than 49 levels and two out of three acts to go. Perhaps it is because the RPG portion feels a little forced. For me, I think the game really shines in relationship building mechanics, and managing your status with the townspeople. The farming feels familiar, and is very similar to Harvest Moon, however, the monster raising portion is odd. You can essentially just grab the Cow, Sheep and Chicken monster and be set, the “item” monsters and plants which spawn weapons and armor are something I have yet to exploit in detail, but they did add their own flavor to the game. Additionally the crafting mechanics for cooking, forging and sewing are fun, and interesting, though the actually interaction that goes on during the doing of such action is not noticeably stimulating. Overall I think if you enjoy Harvest Moon you will enjoy this game. If you do not, this game probably will grab you with a 35:65 ratio.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable | Metacritic (89/9.0) | PSP - $19.99 USD
---
> I recently decided the Persona franchise was one which I felt deeply remorseful in having missed. As such, due to my recent acquisition of a used PSP in great condition, I decided to start with Persona 3 Portable, as I have heard very little about Persona 1 or 2. Additionally, I have heard that the first two games in no way, other than elements and mechanics, relate to 3 and 4.
> So Persona 3 Portable, an interesting game, it plays very much so like a point and click style game on the PSP, with a strong resemblance to typical Visual Novel games. However, this true with the exception of the combat portion of the game, this part of the game is essentially dungeon crawling and is done in an isometric fashion. Though combat itself does not seem to be anything too shockingly different from standard ATB. Though, similar to the previous statement, there is an exception, more so involving some of the finer mechanics used.
> This includes Personas, which can be thought of as both a Summon and a piece of equipment, similar to FFX-2's garment system or Golden Sun's Djinn system, in which the Summon equipped defines your abilities. Additionally there is the fact that there is a huge focus on weakness and critical strikes, which not only do more damage but allow you to simply just do more. I spent roughly ten hours grinding the in this game, it was quite fun, though repetitive.
> Now you may be asking, why the grind? Well, suffice to say the game takes place in largely two different worlds, one is essentially a visual novel experience, balancing school and after school activities, basically playing the life of a Japanese High School student as depicted in most anime. In this world you build relationships, which can strengthen your Personas, and advance plot points. The other world is essentially a dungeon crawler, you are attempting to scale a dungeon of some XXX amount of floors, but can only do it so often, before tiring or getting sick. I would say the high school life simulator portion is far more interesting than the dungeon portion.
> However, after consulting some FAQs, all I can say is that to perfect this game, there is a very stringent order to how you perform certain tasks, things that you must do and not mess up. Additionally, as fun as this game is, I had to put it down. I'll describe this a bit more in the next section.

Shin Megami Tensei:Persona 3 FES | Metacritic (89/9.0) | PS2 - $16.16 USD
---
> Now, FES, is what I am currently playing. After consulting the aforementioned guides I found out that the FES release was a PS2 version which included a story expansion, and had all the cut scenes displayed in both the character cut-in visual novel style, and the 3D model style at the same time. Far more immersive than the Portable version in my opinion. Additionally FES has far more animated cut scenes, essentially anime. The tradeoff however is no female options for the protagonist, a purely portable feature, and far stricter requirements to perfecting the game such as tiring during trips to the aforementioned dungeon portion, rather than after.
> All in all, thus far I prefer this version leagues over the portable version.

Insurgency | Metacritic (74/8.5) | Steam -
$14.99$7.49 USD---
> After reading the post this week by one dedicated submitter here on /r/games, I decided to download this game and give it a try. My experience thus far has been great. I absolutely love the game, and it definitely has filled in the gap I felt from a lot of the shooters in my library. The realistic approach and game types offered a very fresh and extremely fun. Quite honestly, I could do no justice in my description of the game itself, and suggest you look at the aforementioned thread for more detail, found here, but I can say I get the same feeling playing Insurgency now, as I did playing Call of Duty 4 in its prime.
---
Strike Vector | Metacritic (73/8.1) | Steam -
$11.99$4.79 USD---
> Another free weekend game, I had been keeping my eye on this game earlier this year, but it eventually dropped off my radar. I probably would not have even given it a try if I was not looking for Insurgency’s installer for the free weekend.
> A fun flight combat game. Reminds me of a PS2 game I played when I was younger, I think it might have been Macross? Regardless, it’s a blast, fast combat, versatile weapon choices and cool ships. My only complaint though is lag was definitely an issue in my experience with people rubber banding, and teleporting around, something I haven’t suffered in my other games. This just may have been due to a lack of any nearby servers. However, in the end I felt it was worth the $5.00 USD price tag, and can see myself poking my head in every now and then.
---
Nosgoth | Metacritic (?/5.8) | Steam -
$4.99$2.49 USD---
> Again, while looking for the installer for Insurgency I saw this game, and after playing Strike Vector I decided it might also be another fun game. Not so much. From the store page I was expecting something similar to the old Free-To-Play game Rakion. (Which if anyone knows where I can play that game now, let me know.) Instead it felt like a very poorly balanced arena fighter with a Dungeon Defender combat system. Quite honestly I thought it was poorly done, but looked fantastic. I would not highly recommend it to anyone in the future.
Wii has Megaman 9 and 10, which are fun, but the originals are so much better.
If you have a playstation 2, gamecube, or Xbox, I would definitely recommend getting Megaman anniversary collection it has Mega Man 1-8 and two arcade mega man games which are so much fun.
If you don't have a PS2 but have a PS3 you would be able to download some of the mega man games from PSN I know they have some of them as PSOne classics, though I believe they are in japanese.
If you enjoy that, and have a PS2 or Gamecube, then I would recommend getting Mega man X collection which is like Mega Man classic, but updated graphics, upgradeable weapons, wall climbing, dashing, and on X4 and up multiple characters, it includes megaman X1 - X6, and has a megaman racing arcade game.
Mega Man Legends, Mega man Legends 2 and Misadventures of Tron Bonne are by far my favorite, though they would be hard to find and very pricey, but you could get lucky and find the first MML on PC. I got lucky and got Megaman Legends, and Legends 2 as a kid, and still own them. I used to own Misadventure of Tron Bonne, but stupid childhood me traded it into funcoland..
You have made a great decision to get into mega man games, definitely my favorite series, I have beaten them all multiple times.
I was going to push Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw you already knew what you were doing. Also I highly recommend Katamari and God of War. Things that aren't on your list:
MGS Essential Collection. Three of the best games in one package.
Beyond Good & Evil is a really fun game
Okami is a great Zelda clone although a bit easy (and reaaaally long)
Odin Sphere. This game has a difficulty curve like a damn roller coaster but it's absolutely gorgeous, for the eyes and ears, and has a good plot and likable characters.
Sly Cooper is fantastic
Pyschonauts is one of the best games ever made, but I believe its better on other systems. Don't know for sure though because I played it on PS2
It's not a new game, but a game I recently picked up again that is addicting is Civilization Revolution on the PS3. :-) I love how what they say is gibberish like "flallom flallom". It makes me smile. Plus Sid Meier's games are awesome!
I would like this game because I've been told by SEVERAL people on here that I would love it!

Take it from me, as I feel unbiased. There are always going to be asshats that will tell you that "You aren't a true fan" because you haven't done exactly what they've done.
It is true that the Persona games are easier than the Mainline-SMT+DDS+DS, but that doesn't mean it isn't a part of SMT as a whole, most people who enjoy SMT started at persona.
The easiest way of describing why persona is seen as easier can be summed up in 2 ideas
Expel/Death skills hit MUCH more often
Kaja/Kunda skills take 4 casts instead of 1 to get the same effect, are removed more often, and are pretty much essential to beating any given boss fight.
That being said, persona is a fantastic game, don't be ashamed for liking it
tl;dr Persona is easier, not inferior
also, if you liked persona, it's a better idea to jump in on other PS2 games, starting at Digital Devil Saga
I used to play this bad boy all the time when I was younger with my little brother. We made a rule that we couldn't progress to the next megaman until we beat the previous one and took turns by leveling and dying. Sure it made us want to throw the controller at the tv sometimes, but we felt sooooo good when we beat a game. If you are playing by yourself I just recommend having a lot of patience. Also if you have a Gameboy advance or ds I recommend Megaman Zero series, it's pretty hard as well but certainly rewarding and a lot of replayability.
I have a lot of favorites. But I think one of my more favorite ones has to be Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. It was the first SMT title I played and I really enjoyed the story and mechanics. Imagine Pokemon with a mature storyline. It's also on of the few games I regret selling. However, when you need the money for food... You do want you got to.
Also, if I win... Here is the link to my wish list dedicated to vidya games. xD Video Games, Yay!
And I can't wait for The Last of Us to get here. xD I rented a copy from GameFly.
I really encourage you to buy the games Persona 3 or 4, they are cheap. If you don't have a PS2, an emulator on a decent computer or good laptop can do the job. You are not pirating an unforgiving giant like EA. Atlus is a great studio that does a great job both producing and localizing, so please do your best to support them. However, if you are low on cash, this is one of the few games with good pirate bay torrents.
I recommend you Persona 3, it’s a really great game with excellent combat, music, storyline, and some impeccable themes about selflessness and sacrifice. The ending particularly tugs at me as a Catholic, for reasons you will see when you finish the game. It’s around 80 hours long, so buckle down and get ready to play. It’s available on PS Vita and PSP through the online stores on each respective platform (its the portable version called Persona 3 Portable, so doesn’t have cutscenes, and the in game navigation is quite different), on PS2 physically (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014CN2H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-YXpDb1C1H48A), or on PS3 through online download (these two options are Persona 3 FES, which was a rerelease with additional content, including an expanded 20 hour story line called “The Answer”). I personally loved the game, one of my favorite games of all time and heavily recommend it.
Here’s a synopsis of the game from Wikipedia:
In Persona 3, the player takes the role of a male high-school student who joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), a group of students investigating the Dark Hour, a time period between one day and the next that few people are aware of. During the Dark Hour, the player enters Tartarus, a large tower containing Shadows, creatures that feed on the minds of humans. To fight the Shadows, each member of SEES is able to summon a Persona, a manifestation of a person’s inner self. The game’s most iconic feature is the method by which the members of SEES release their Personas: by firing a gun-like object called an Evoker at their head. In addition to the standard elements of role-playing games, Persona 3 includes elements of simulation games, as the game’s protagonist progresses day by day through a school year, making friends and forming relationships that improve the strength of his Personas in battle.
Here are some links about the game:

Cheaper then I initially thought, not only that but you can also unlock two Megaman arcade games, and I think there's bonuses like concept art.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_backward_compatible_PlayStation_2_and_PlayStation_games
It's on the list, so if your PS3 isn't...
>The 40GB, 80GB re-release, 160GB, and the slim version of the PS3
Then you're good to go! I have the Gamecube version and it's great! Especially saying Megaman games are so...Challenging that it feels more like one larger game if you include them in a bundle.
Thanks for serving and thanks for the contest!
A used copy of this game would be great. It's probably in my top 3 favorite games, and my copy got scratched up so it doesn't want to play anymore. I let one of my sisters play it and well, I think the disc was used as a frisbee. I'd like to play it again one day and get the alternate ending haha.
You can either play them chronologically in the order in which the games were released (I recommend this), or play them chronologically in the order in which the story occurs. Either is fine but definitely do not skip the original Metal Gear Solid.
My recommendation is to buy either:
I don't know about you, but I find it difficult to start from newer games going into older games because you get "spoiled" by the updated combat mechanics of the newer games, which could make playing the older games more tedious. If you play the older ones first, you'll appreciate the better combat mechanics of the newer games. Having said that, I think that Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for Gamecube isn't as clunky as the original since it's a remake. TBQH with you, though, it's probably not as bad as you might think.
I'm not sure if you'll find the original/official controllers for a cheaper price, but they're pretty good to use (if you do the coin mod, which is super easy with either version). The USA "Beatmania" game (it's IIDX, with much easier difficulty) has a controller in the box - but it will also be tricky to find one on sale, at least at a reasonable price
If you like anime:
FLCL: The complete series [Blue-Ray]
Paprika [Blue-Ray]
If you like amazing video games:
Persona 4 [PS2]
Shadow of the colossus [PS2]
If you like movies/TV:
V for Vendetta [Blu-Ray]
Battlestar Galactica: Season One [DVD]
Just a few suggestions based on nothing but some stuff I like myself. Hope you find something cool! :)
Galileo Figaro Magnifico Sirius Snape Land-Hugger LaDue
Wow.. what a name! I feel bad for any veterinarian who tries to say the whole thing.
This game would be great! There are multiple new copies that fall in the price range, but if you can't find any used is completely fine.
Congratulations and thanks for the contest! :)
Final Fantasy X! I'd like to own it again because it was a great game and was absolutely gutted when my brother traded in our shared copy cos he got rid of his own PS2. The butt.
I've been blogging for over twelve years, it's a great hobby. :)
Elephant Barber
I have been playing Gunman Clive on the 3DS. It has an excellent art style, the platforming is very reminiscent of Mega Man, and the game play is very simple and easy. it's just good old fashioned, ridiculous fun. It is only for the 3DS Nintendo eshop. I would like this or any of the 3DS games I have on my list.
PS2 version. It's really good and has high replayability. If you end up liking it on PS2, then you will probably end up buying the Vita re-release and appreciate the graphics and added content more. If you don't have any other games on your plate, I definitely recommend buying it and playing it now. I'ts $20 on Amazon.

That price is well below the going rate but do you have a particularly strong reason for wanting it on the SNES? You could always buy the Mega Man X Collection on the PS2 and it would save you some money if you just wanted to play the game.
Its a pretty common PS2 game.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B001C6GVI6/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
It sales for like $17 US new.
Not to mention that it is on the PS3 as a PS2 classic for $9.99 US & tends to go on sale rather frequently.
Also, if you have a Vita it has an expanded version on their which is also super common. Often selling for $20 new.
It its worth purchasing for any of those prices. Its a very good story driven experience.
I love Metal Gear... and I already have two collections:
Metal Gear: The Essential Collection released in 2008 (this one was criticized by some for not including the Gamecube remake, but rather including a PS1 disk)
Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection released 2011 (again avoids any remake of MGS1 or GCN port, also leaves out Portable Ops: is basically MSG2, 3, and Peace Walker)
Is this a new thing? Release a random collection of MG games every 3 years? If there's an HD remake of the original Metal Gear (a la, the project they shut down) and MG2.. along with a port/remake of the GCN version - that would be worthwhile I guess.
If it's HD-collection redux with slightly "more HD" versions of the previous games....? I can't see them having done proper remakes in this time frame. Previous HD collection + Ground Zeroes? Same issue.
Best turn-based JRPGs for the PS2 - Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Its been years since I first played either of them... but the story was excellent enough to stay with me. While both are pretty scary games, both of them are pretty funny at the same time. Seriously, I can't praise this series enough. Its a shame they had to live in the shadow of FFX.
I´d honestly say, there is no "cheap" way to play P4G.
But there is a cheap way to play Persona 4 with a legitimate copy of the game.
If you got a decent PC with a good cpu, gpu an a good amount of ram plus a disk drive, then buy a cheap copy of P4 for $19.78 . Stick it in your PC using an emulator - plus you can use your Dualshock 4 to play the game.

Thanks to how popular other SMT games have been, Atlus started to reprint it a bunch in the last 5-6 years. It went from being super rare to ... not rare at all. $18 on Amazon. If you have a way to play PS2 games, it's worth it.
This is what I have.Honestly bought it at a GameStop for like $20 not having a real clue what it was, played the shit out of it. Never got anywhere near as good as the dudes in the videos.
You can get both games from Amazon for $15-$20 each new.
Persona 3 FES
Persona 4
If you have a Playstation 3, you can also buy digital versions from the store and they run great. I played both (well, all 3 - Persona 3, Persona 3 FES, and Persona 4) on a PS2 but after getting an LCD TV it was a lot easier just to play them on my PS3.
Katamari. Best. High. Game. Ever. I can say that with quite a bit of certainty. Anyone who has played it will agree with me.
Here is some of the gameplay
Someone else mentioned the baldurs gate games. They're fantastic. So fantastic that the baldurs gate 2 dark alliance disc for ps2 sells for over 100$ lol
https://www.amazon.com/Baldurs-Gate-Dark-Alliance-PlayStation-2/dp/B00009MVJ7%3Fpsc%3D1%26SubscriptionId%3DAKIAIGDJ75UVPLJ6HYAA%26tag%3Dgamespot-vg-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB00009MVJ7

Because I want to break out the ps2. XD

Obviously not exactly the same, but Metal Gear Solid is pretty good about this (especially in re-releases, such as...).
I'll address the pad differences first. While it's true that most soft pads are shit, red octane makes higher end soft pads, these ones use grid detectors similar to the ones found in hard pads. Detection on them was never a problem. Sliding however, was a problem. When playing dual pad, they would slide away from each other to the point that you wouldn't be able to finish a song. I fixed that by grabbing some zippers from a military surplus store and fixing the pads too each other. The larger surface area increased grip on the floor and stopped them from moving around mostly. We never had any issues with sliding after that.
As for stamina improvement, why is it so surprising that 2-4 hours of working out every day for 3 months can increase your movement that drastically? First time marathon runners will often do a 16 week training regimen before their first race. It's not uncommon at all for couch potatoes to go through this and find themselves able to run 26.2 miles at the end of it. I'd argue that a child whose body can heal faster could easily achieve similar results in 13 weeks with an increased regimen. Also though, you mentioned in a later post that you used the bar a lot to stabilize yourself - this reduces the total energy expended during a song. Using soft pads, we didn't have this bar, so we were forced to control our body weight (resulting in a harder workout). Also note that as a competitive player, your focus is on final score, which means you will approach the game trying to maximize the efficiency of your movements so as to hit every step. As kids, my brother and I tried to maximize the difficulty of songs we could simply pass. We would challenge each other to do the song at 2x speed, with increased jumps, even going so far as to modify the step files to add new moves into the song. Hopefully that will clarify some things for you, but feel free to argue any of these points. I'll always make time to validate my claims.
My entry is done.
I say this at the end, but I am so terribly sorry for subjecting you to my absolutely terrible singing voice. It sound good to me when I'm actually singing (you know how we all hear our voices different than they sound to other people/recorded), but when I hear the recording, I honestly sound absolutely terrible.
There are definitely entries here that deserve to win far more than my lame attempt, but you'll have my attempt as soon as it finishes uploading.
Also, my favourite video game is a tie between Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy X, though Ni No Kuni is up there too.
I think that gifting 2 people $10 gifts would be the best!
don't go talking too loud you'll cause a landslide, Mr. Jones.
Thank you for the contest!
I think that's kind of an elitist attitude. Also keep in mind that the PS3 version has received a significant patch:
> It fixed a number of problems such as the frame rate and voice sync which were greatly improved. Missing sounds and music had also been fixed along with the fog density issues. Other minor visual/audio problems were also improved.
The HD version is definitely not the best version but there's nothing wrong with wanting to play it over a $60 copy of the ps2 version which would probably look terrible on an HD tv or monitor. These videos look pretty good.
The Dog Island on PlayStation 2. Cute kid-oriented RPG, but I liked it enough to play all the way through.
Do you care about the graphics that much? A couple of things about the graphics annoyed me a bit on the PS2, but nothing killer. If you don't care, go for the original.
That said, $30 for FFX for the PS2 is grossly overpriced. It was released as a Greatest Hits release. Amazon has for $16.69 new. Used it hangs around in the $10 range.
http://www.amazon.com/Redoctane-Ignition-Dance-Platform-Playstation-2/dp/B00025LDT0/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1341806832&sr=1-3&keywords=red+octane+dance+pad is what I used to use and it lasted a few years of incredibly heavy usage. Not only was I 250 when I started using it, the two I had were used by friends 4+ hours a day and for DDR club once a week with tons of people not being careful at all.
the one he linked seems to be about the same thing and certainly cheaper (2 for the price of one of mine basically) so I think that would be a good starting point for you.
So if I bought because amazon recommended because i also enjoyed https://www.amazon.com/Barbie-Horse-Adventures-Rescue-playstation-2/dp/B00009NH6E
Then all should be well?
you could always buy it off Amazon

The used prices are pretty good and normally come with everything
Kingdom Hearts please oh please. I played my roommate's copy when I lived with her, but I don't own it myself.
I have one of just my puppy that I'll leave here while I look for one with me in it too
that was easy
Many people would probably be surprised that I picked http://www.amazon.com/The-DOG-Island-Playstation-2/dp/B000MTF05E/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3VIXY25V29XCS&coliid=I3J29XZEDAKREG. I have grown up with puppies all my life and now have two mini schnauzers of my own. Buddy and Wall-E (my schnauzers) play a HUGE role in my life.
Yep. Here's a link to what it looks like: http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection-Playstation-2/dp/B001383L36/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342742559&sr=8-1&keywords=metal+gear+essential
It's got a nasty mark up at Amazon, but most walmarts I go to have a copy stashed in some random corner of the video game section. It's a really great set. The PSone game comes in a PS2 box, but it's really a repressing of the original PSone discs.
It's amazing people don't know they can still buy new copies off Amazon for like 15$
I'm pretty sure amazon has Raidou new.
(Yeah Raidou is around $30, and you completely overpaid for DDS https://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Digital-Devil-PlayStation/dp/B00008KTRS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473518397&sr=8-1&keywords=Shin+Megami+Tensei+Digital+Devil+Saga)
What you need to know is that you can purchase the Metal Gear Solid Essentials Collection on Amazon for $20.
Don't even try to play this series out of order. There are so many impactful moments in the game you simply aren't going to care about. Read up on the Metal Gear backstory, and the MGS: Portable Ops game backstory, but play the MGS console games. That's the damned minimum you need to really enjoy MGS4.
Haha, I guess that's true. I was thinking of the PS2 version, which is officially Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.
http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Persona-PlayStation-2/dp/B001C6GVI6
The top seeded San Andreas torrents on both TPB and Demonoid are NTSC.
If you can't figure it out yourself you can buy a copy for $7 with free Amazon Prime shipping.
Yes sir! . The ones there are vastly overpriced though. This game still remains my favorite RPG I have ever played on consoles.
Amazon's got both games through 3rd party sellers:
P3FES: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES - PlayStation 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014CN2H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_iW1yCbVM0ATF2
P4: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 - PlayStation 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001C6GVI6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_RW1yCbQSB9984
I ordered P3FES from DealsTavern through Amazon and the game came on time and in good condition. I haven't ordered P4 yet, but if it's backed by Prime and you have it, you should be okay.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES - PlayStation 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014CN2H6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1VawDb8ACQFX1
Also sorry, didn't know you were from Europe, don't the big stores where you're from. Regardless good luck in getting the game.
The Door at the end of the game, after you beat Ansem, was not Kingdom Hearts. It was the Door to Darkness. Only beings of darkness can pass through it, and it led to the Realm of Darkness, thus the heartless. Riku and King Mickey are beings of light, so they can't pass through. Kingdom Hearts was inside the door, but it was a fake Kingdom Hearts created by the worlds lost to darkness. It dissipated into light after you defeated Ansem.
Sora chose not to go with Kairi because he wanted to search for Riku. The mural has no significance other than to hide the Navi-G piece inside. Kiari's heart went inside Sora's in this scene (When Destiny Islands fell to the darkness)
I recommend you play Chain of Memories before KH2, or at least watch the cutscenes.
I picked up a copy for my girlfriend [from Amazon for like $10.](http://www.amazon.com/Katamari-Damacy-Playstation-2/dp/B0002Y2XXQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1251320478&sr=8-1 "nah nah nah nah nah nah")
With that and We Love Katamari for $25, you need part with nothing, sir.
it was the packaging. I was on a Metal Gear Solid collecting quest in the run-up to MGS4. The seller made no mention of the water stained packaging and it was not visible on the picture. I got refunded, but the guy never gave me a way to send it back, so I ended up with an opened copy for free and bought a sealed copy way cheaper. win-win

If you can't purchase stuff online, try checking out a store for Amazon cards.
Now is the best time to purchase SMT games, as Atlus has been reprint crazy with them.
The MGS Essentials Collection. MGS 1-3 with cool box art like this.
http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection-Playstation-2/dp/B001383L36
If you have $20 to spare, you NEED to include Nocturne in your collection. It's cheaper on Amazon than it honestly should be: http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Nocturne-Playstation-2/dp/B00024W1U6
I got both of the Saga DVDs used at a videogame/movie store for about $8 each.
Saga Vol. 1 is listed on Amazon for $30
Saga Vol. 2 on the other hand is is currently listed for about $5
If your PS3 can play PS2 games I highly suggest you buy the Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection. It used to be cheaper, but it's still worth the money.
Yeah, it's part of the Metal Gear Solid: Essential Collection. If you feel compelled to use the cover art yourself, you can download it here!
your lucky day!
Lucky for you, it exists! you only need a ps2 now
Only one left, better buy it quick.
I would recommend picking these up

Let me help you out:
$18.82 sealed, shipped by Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection-Playstation-2/dp/B001383L36
I would get that if I were you, lots of stores like Kmart and Walmart could have them lying around in their clearance sections depending on your area. It has the PS1 copy of MGS1, as well as Substance and Subsistence, which are the "complete" versions of 2 and 3 respectively.
Amazon has FES for $20 brand new, and The Answer is playable entirely seperately from the Journey, so you can buy FES and play The Answer as soon as you put the disc in.
Baldur's gate series it selects my inventory, oh and TYL the ps2 version of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 has skyrocketed in value.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00009MVJ7/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1334512389&sr=8-1&condition=new
/r/Megaten always suggests starting with Persona 3 FES since it gives you a taste of what mainline and the Persona series have to offer simultaneously.
You can get a brand new copy from Amazon still, or you can get it on PSN for the PS3 for cheap as well.
You can still buy them new on Amazon: 1 2
$14.99 each.
Uhhh.... you can get it new on amazon for $18
https://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Persona-PlayStation-2/dp/B001C6GVI6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537301139&sr=8-1&keywords=persona+4+ps2
If you still want to use Amazon, I suggest looking under the used section (FFX) for some games. They tend to be much cheaper, and you have a lot of different choices to choose from.
I believe you are correct.
Silent Hill 2
and from a post below:

YAY! It would appear we've earned his utter disgust!

I actually bought a few SMT games from Amazon. I think these are still in print, in some very small volume.
There's the collection, 12 bucks on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Man-X-Collection-Playstation-2/dp/B0009XBWY6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367471603&sr=8-1&keywords=megaman+x+collection

I HIGHLY recommend playing the first 3 first if you can. You can score the Essential Collection for $20 on Amazon, which is the first 3 games in one package. (You need a way to play PS1 and PS2 games.) You can also buy MGS 1 on the PSN Store and download it.
MGS4 is largely a fan service to running fans. Ut's great, but there are tons of references to the first games
NOTE: MGS3 is a prequel to the entire series.
>>MAJOR SPOILERS
-Metal Gear Solid 3-
You play as Naked Snake (aka Big Boss) who is the original Snake in the series. During a rescue mission that fails, your mentor 'The Boss' defects to the Russians and turns and you. The scientist you were trying to save is being forced to work on a new mobile weapon that can launch nukes. "The Boss" takes him back and throws you over a bridge, and delivers a nuke to the games protagonist, who sets it off in Russia. America is blamed and threatened with war if they can't prove it wasn't them. You are sent back in.
Your next mission is to attempt the rescue again, stop the nuke launching tank, and kill 'The Boss.' You get help from Eva, a over sexy woman who acts as a spy, and gain a rival named Ocelot. At the end of the game, it's revealed that 'The Boss' never defected, but was under orders from America the entire time. She was sent on a suicide mission by the President, to be killed by your hand, so America would look good. She was a true Patriot to the end. Learning this causes Naked Snake to leave America and form his own Army.
-Metal Gear 1 & 2- (Old 8bit)
All you need to know is Big Boss tried to create Outer Haven, a private army with no country. Solid Snake is sent in to stop him both times.
-Metal Gear Solid-
Solid Snake is brought back into action. Terrorists have taken over a base, and demand money, and the remains of Big Boss. The leader of the group is Liquid Snake, a clone of Big Boss, and your "Brother". Solid Snake learns he is a clone with the goal to make the ultimate soldier.
(I'll type the rest tomorrow if you want me to keep going... You're WAY better off playing the others first though. )
Person 4 - $17.85
You won't regret it.
Shipping is the problem. Lots of US companies in Amazon don't ship outside the country, or if they do there's a noticeable extra cost.
Nocturne
https://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Nocturne/dp/B00024W1U6/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1502290331&sr=1-1&keywords=shin+nocturne
Amusing fact. The guide to Nocturne (which has an incorrect answer for how to solve a puzzle to boot) costs about three times as much as the game.
Sadly I'm not sure if a PS2 can be found on Amazon to ship, when I checked Amazon Global I couldn't find one, but that could be because I'm checking from inside the US. I suggest you check when you have a moment to see what options it gives an Australian.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 - PlayStation 2 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001C6GVI6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_StdxxbJQXYW39
If you're averse to emulation, there's always Mega Man X collection for PS2.
Katamari Damacy
you can buy it new for 25......

Since they are for the PS2, I would say that's a bit pricey. Should be $10 or less.
And they are
Gluttony as the Katamari eats everything in sight!
If you're looking for a ps2 copy on the cheap I ran into this last night:

You were saying?
Either buy a used copy of MMX on SNES or buy this: http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Man-X-Collection-PlayStation-2/dp/B0009XBWY6#
There's also a Megaman Zero collection for DS, which is a collection of the GBA games. They also made 2 MMZ games for the DS itself.
I don't know what country you live in, but in the US, it's just $16.60 on Amazon for a PS2 copy.
Amazon
Brand new with the audio soundtrack
They released an HD version on the PS2.

https://www.amazon.com/Mega-Man-X-Collection-PlayStation-2/dp/B0009XBWY6
As an alternative to getting the PSN digital copy if you have a PS3, you can get this:
http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection-Playstation-2/dp/B001383L36/ref=sr_1_4?m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&s=merchant&ie=UTF8&qid=1383105548&sr=1-4&keywords=metal+gear+solid
I bought this several years ago, before the HD Collection came out. It comes with the MGS1 (PS1 disc), MGS2 Substance (for PS2, of course), and MGS3 Subsistence (also PS2, of course). It's 3 normal PS2-style boxes (with different box art, you can see them in the photos) and they are bundled in a cardboard sleeve as a sort of "box set", which you can also see in the photos.
And, as others have said, there's always ebay.
It's disc 1 of Subsistence. it came in a box set http://www.amazon.com/Metal-Gear-Solid-Collection-Playstation-2/dp/B001383L36

I'm in Canada, and I actually just found both of them for $35 each on Amazon.ca, I'm putting in my order right away!
You can actually buy the MegaTen PS2 games for $20 on Amazon.
While their metal pads are crap, I've never seen anyone specifically have problems with the foam pads. Mine is working great going on 6 years, with heavy use for 2 of those years. It's lasted longer than 2 previous Red Octane Ignition.
I dunno how I missed that, or MGS 2 for that matter. I think you're right.
Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection
I was aware of the trilogy being released on ps3, didn't know about this.
It was part of the Essentials Collection. I found that lone copy of MGS in the wild for $1. It is actually the PSX game but packaged in a PS2 box.
Digital Devil Saga and Strange Journey are the best for character driven story. Digital Devil Sage more so than any of the other ones. There are some really amazing set pieces. Amazon has it for 18 bucks I believe.
http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Digital-Playstation-2/dp/B00008KTRS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372163887&sr=8-1&keywords=digital+devil+saga
Probably a reprint? I'm not sure but is was only $20, so it's probably not an original run. Also I don't see anything on the product page about a soundtrack.
Difficult to find? Not at all!
would you get a ps2? i should be ashamed how many times ive bought the megaman series. I rebought x4 and x5 yesterday just to play on my vita, since they were on sale. I've got a problem.

I wouldn't hold my breath, but it's also pretty damn cheap.
$18 as of 2017-11-16, and that's a bit of a steal imo: https://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Nocturne-playstation-2/dp/B00024W1U6
A new copy on Amazon runs about $70 USD, but you can get a used one for around $30. Thing is though, the way the game was made (specifically, the use of the Snowblind Engine) makes it almost impossible to run on an emulator. Therefore, anyone that wants to play it at all is forced to obtain a physical copy, with little to no other alternatives short of hard-modding your PS2, which has kept the price relatively high over the years. This ten-year-old game is as expensive (or more so!) than many brand-new titles.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix is a remake very fun RPG from Disney and Square Enix. (not dumb like the title sounds)
The PS2 Ver.
Kingdom Hearts II is even better and there is no remake a the moment.
Kingdom Hearts III is coming soon for PS4 and Xbox One.
(oops you said only PC sorry)
LEGO: Marvel is coming to PC.
Look here for more Lego Games.
Scribblenauts Unlimited and Scribblenauts Unmasked - A DC Comics Adventure is also coming out, but for only Wii U and 3DS.

I just got the MegaMan Anniversary Collection for like $13 and it has all of the main games for NES, 7 from Snes, 8 from PSX, and the Power Battle arcade games. I can't imagine playing them with a touch screen, but the Anniversary Collection has sooooo much content for so cheap it's ridiculous!

Look at the seller information. None of those are from Square Enix. There, I literally did the work for you.
And, once again: emulation is 100% legal. you had no excuse to call op a "poor fuck" for asking for help.
I skipped over your traditional turn-based part of your post, sorry about that. That would eliminate these two as they are action based combat:(Play the first one first though if you want to give it a try.)
If you are into a really Pokemon in Hell with demons play this one:(This is the hardest of all the ones I have posted.)
These two have a really good story but a little harder than the Persona Series: (Play the first one first though if you want to give it a try.)
I honestly cant really think of another game that is really hard on the PS2 other than the SMT games.
Edit: I provided you with the Amazon link for all of the games. Most of these have been reprinted that is why their cost is pretty low, before the reprint these games were rather expensive.
