Your very first line shows that you, once again, haven't read (or understood, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here) any of my posts.

I'll repeat it one last time: The game is in retail for the price of a full game.

Here's some links from the US (where you presumably live based on what and how you're writing - correct me if I'm wrong here) in case you don't understand:

https://www.amazon.com/Fortnite-PlayStation-4/dp/B071WNVX56/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1502935703&sr=1-1&keywords=fortnite&th=1

That's $60 each and nowhere does it mention early access or that it's a F2P game based on microtransactions. You'll find the same in stores without any mention either. It's literally sold like a buy 2 play game.

> The Micro-transactions are not heavy. I have purchased zero llamas not included with the original buy in. I'm finishing Plankerton right now with zero issues. I'm 100+ hours into the game. Heavy microtransactions much more heavily gate you or stop progression. Basically all of the Zynga games are good examples of this. Pay to progress is real there. Here it's "pay to be stronger than what you need to actually be". So yeah, if you want to be as overpowered as possible you can pay. But if you just want to play the game it's not required at all.

You're arguing based on personal anecdotes that wildly vary from others players' experience (the sheer amount of hours you spent in the first two areas alone for example) and a strawman here. It's not about 'Hey, I can't progress my story quests any more.' (those are placeholder in canny valley anyway). It's about not being able to progress your account at some point unless you're spending money or waiting for daily rewards for weeks/months and not being able to make gameplay decisions because everything is gated behind RNG.

> The only real issue atm is that the transformation system is broken. It's too expensive. Fix that and add relatively plentiful commons/greens and the occassional rare drop in and 90% of the complaints melt away.

So basically change the whole system when it comes to how much and how targeted loot can be acquired? So you tell people to shut up and yet think this much is missing?

> And remember, the free to play standard for "earning what you want for free" (set by MOBA's) is 26+ hours per character and getting as high as 40+ for the more rare ones. Even if you cut that in half because you'll replace your hero once or twice that's 13 - 20 hours of grinding for a single hero. That's meeting today's free to play standards. It took me a full year of play and 800+ hours to get all heroes in HOTS. I can't really put Fortnite on that level lol. Even starting with only a rookie hero and crap gun it's plain it will take nothing even close to that to "beat" Fortnite by getting basically everything.

First off, there isn't a 'standard'. DotA2 has all content for free and you only pay for cosmetics. PoE has all content for free and you only pay for QoL and cosmetics (arguably some stash tabs are required at some point but then you're talking about a one-time purchase of less than a retail game sufficing for ever). LoL and Heroes require you to unlock heroes indeed but you can actually choose what you're unlocking, both games are competitive PvP games (so account 'unlock' progress isn't one of the main motivators as it is in PvE games like Fortnite) and both games gave you a lot of competitive free heroes to begin with last time I checked - you don't have any of that in Fortnite.

When it comes to the rate of acquiring stuff, I cannot really comment on that because I've had everything (aside from cosmetics obviously) unlocked in LoL and Heroes for ages and Fortnite's progress is pretty much a slot machine anyway. You're also making a crucial mistake here by extrapolating from your Fortnite experience so far because the game pretty much bathes you in Llamas and VBucks at the start and quickly (or, apparently in your case, not quite as quickly) dries down, especially since you're also still getting your buy-in Llamas at the start.

When it comes to microtransactions, there's also a huge difference that I already touched on previously. Just like with playing the game, other games allow you to spend money on things you actually want whereas in Fortnite you're merely paying to gamble (with really bad odds of actually getting what you want).

Oh, and I think you severely underestimate how many Llamas it would take to get everything in Fortnite, even excluding specific schematic rolls on items. I'm not going to do the maths here (mainly because I can't be bothered counting all the stuff and looking up previous posts on 'drop' rates) but just looking at the odds of getting a single legendary/mythic hero alone and considering that you cannot reroll duplicates, you're easily in the thousands (probably even low tends of thousands) of dollars worth of Llamas to be somewhat certain of having all.

> That's literally not how it works. Ironically, even if you are open and transparent and well priced it's nowhere near as successful as being deceptive, abusing psychology, and withholding most information.

> JC Penny proved this in SPADES. You should do a little research on that. The reason fair and honest pricing doesn't happen is, amusingly, US. We don't support it with our cash.

> Here's an article to start you on that research: http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/fair-square-pricing-thatll-never-work-jc-penney-we-being-794530 . The article is a bit biased, but like I said I expect you to do your research on this if you care about it.

Your article doesn't even mention the word 'transparent'. My point was never that companies are supposed to price things fairly (whatever that is supposed to be to begin with), it's that they're not being transparent in what they're actually selling you. Look at the links above and tell me they're transparent about selling early access to an unfinished F2P product. This is also true for the PS shop and to a lesser degree for their own shop which merely mentions it in a place most people won't even see, not in a place you have to look at when purchasing the game as you'd expect (akin to small-printed text at the back-side of a contract). They're also not transparent (there aren't any mentions to begin with) about the in-game purchases and what they actually provide before purchasing the game.

> HOTS is another good example. Originally they had clear direct dollar pricing on heroes and skins. Now it's a lootbox system for skins and hero prices have an intermediary currency. Why? Because the more you can mislead your customer the better. And the savvy ones that can figure it out ironically feel like they are clever and "beating the system" but the microtransactions are getting them too. Because the idea you are getting a deal makes you much more likely to spend even if it's not a good investment.

I'm sorry but that comparison is ridiculous.

In Fortnite, you spend money on points which you can only use to buy one of multiple boxes which contain random content. You don't even know which boxes actually exist, what they contain, what their normal pricing is, when and what their reduced pricing is, etc.

In Heroes of the Storm, you spend money on points which you can directly use to purchase any hero you want. Any hero is purchasable at any point in time and temporarily available bundles even give you discounts for items you already own.

You don't see a small difference here?

> I've done ALOT of research on microtransactions. I understand where you are coming from, but it's nowhere near the actual truth. I really wish you were correct, the reality is far more depressing than what you expressed.

Feel free to point to where what I'm saying is 'nowhere near the actual truth' because so far you've not provided any evidence for that whatsoever. I know there exist thousands of games where the primary design goal is to get as much money out of people's pockets as possible - that doesn't mean we as customers have to accept it as the norm as you're suggesting by trying to shut me down from posting about it.

That’s some effective storytelling, right!! “The Last of Us 2” should be excellent as well - I originally didn’t want another story with Joel and Ellie since the first was such a perfect game, but I’ve warmed up to it since the people making it are so incredibly talented.

If you haven’t yet played the Uncharted games, I would recommend those next. The Uncharted collection of the first three games is often on sale (it’s only $20 which is a great price for three games, but it gets as low as $8 if you wait for it). And then Uncharted 4 with the Lost Legacy addon to complete the series. I see UC4 as low as $18 on Amazon right now, and a download code for Lost Legacy for $25 on Amazon as well.

—————

According to PsPrices.com the lowest that Uncharted 4 has ever been was $16, and the lowest Lost Legacy has been was $20, so those are pretty good prices. I would definitely recommend playing all four of them, even though the first one/two are a little dated - they’ve been remastered and the series starts off really good but progressively becomes one of the best series in the history of gaming. It’ll scratch your Indiana Jones itch, and story-wise you’ll really be glad you got to know Nathan Drake over the course of several games rather than jumping right into 4 and Lost Legacy.

And of course, God of War just bumped to the 2nd best rated PS4 game of all time with 95 on Metacritic and the best game of the year so far — it comes out in 2 days. The father/son dynamic of the game might be an interesting next game to play, although it’ll be more action oriented I think. Glad you finally got to play TLOU!

Right now Destiny is worth getting. Just get the version with all of the DLC because it has so much more content.

https://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Collection-PlayStation-4-Standard/dp/B01K63R7HY/ref=pd_sbs_63_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=B7TQ95RVB50FB9CK712P&th=1

The vanilla story isnt the greatest but it picks up with the taken king. Just playing through the story missions (which you can do solo btw) will get you prepared for the endgame. There are plent of resources to find people to help you with endgame content as well. destinylfg.com and r/destinysherpa come to mind as places to find help with any activity you need. the r/destinythegamesubreddit is a great place to ask for help too if you ever find yourself struggling.

Now for the negatives. If you absolutely cannot find people to play with after you finish the story, the game will get much harder because endgame content almost always requires a team unless youre super geared/experienced. PvP (competitive multiplayer) is really annoying right now because everyone has great weapons and have gotten good with subclasses. So if youre into multiplayer youll have a little (a day or 2) before you get the movement mechanics down.

Destiny with all of the DLC is worth the money right now. Its got a ton of story missions (most of them are forgettable early on but it ramps up once you get to taken king missions). The loot grind and progression feels good. youll have a steady stream of more powerful loot, and the item called "3 of coins" makes getting exotic weapons (most powerful in the game) much much easier, and you can get those every weeks with some being quest rewards as well. PvP will start off rough but there is a lot of enjoyment using supers. Id recommend it but, then again, it is my main game at the moment so I am biased. Ask around, Im sure plenty of people have opinions on the game.

u/ProjectDestati · 2 pointsr/KingdomHearts

It's not hard for a newcomer to start into the series--there are currently 10 stories to experience (9 console games, and a mobile phone game that's been made into a movie). Everyone sort of talks about how complicated the story is, but really, the series isn't as complicated as newcomers like to joke :) It's just that it was hard to play them all from 2002-2012 when they were spread out across different platforms, and skipping out on one of the games essentially meant skipping out on a story that drove the overall plot forward. But now that they're all remastered as PS4 bundles, it should be fairly easy for fans old and new to catch up with the overarching story before KH3 is released.

---

What makes the series fun is how deep the lore goes. If you want to start the series with a PS4, you should wait for the $50 "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix", a collection of the first six remastered titles that'll be released on March 28. Afterward, if you enjoy the games, KH2.8 contains the final three. If you happen to get a hold of a PS3 and you don't want to wait, the $17 "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix" collection contains the first two games of the series (Kingdom Hearts and the sequel KH: Chain of Memories) and a movie for the third (Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days).

u/Sipricy · 2 pointsr/KingdomHearts

There have been a lot of Kingdom Hearts games that have come out since Kingdom Hearts 1 came out in 2002. There's been the first game, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Coded, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A fragmentary passage.

The collections are the newest versions of these games. Kingdom Hearts 1.5, Kingdom Hearts 2.5, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 are the collections. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 is just both of those two collections on a single disc, but made for the PS4 rather than the PS3.

The cheapest way to get these games is either to get 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 used, or to buy The Story So Far, which is a digital version of all of the collections, which include all of the games so far. It's only $40, and you get six games and three movies (358/2 Days, Re:Coded, and X: Back Cover are all movies). All in One is exactly like The Story So Far, but also includes Kingdom Hearts 3. It's $100, so you don't save any money by getting All in One rather than The Story So Far.

My whole point being that you shouldn't pay more than $40 USD for all of the games prior to Kingdom Hearts 3.

u/richaslions · 3 pointsr/Games

I know the question has already been answered at this point, but yes! The full collection will be coming to the PS4. Here's a few links that may interest you:

u/luciddre4m · 1 pointr/MonsterHunterWorld

Absolutely buy. I'm a huge Souls fan and the combat feels great in MHW. The non-story based multiplayer quests are a lot of fun with friends and you can pretty much build out your character as you see fit depending on your play style and preferred weapon. The game systems are deep and layered, and although they have a steep learning curve, they will keep you engaged in the game for well over a hundred hours.

It's also on sale for $45 right now on Amazon

Enjoy!

u/iWin4Prep · 13 pointsr/KingdomHearts

Is it worth it?
The answer is YES 95% of the time.
When is it NOT worth it? If you've played these games countless times and have the collection already on the PS3... or if you simply do not like the games.

What is it? It's 4 full, finalized, updated games and 2 other games that were converted into 'movies' essentially. This means you have about 300+ hours of gameplay here if you really want to get into everything. Not only that, it is EVERYTHING from the Kingdom Hearts series except the new 2.8 release and the future KH III release.

You get the full finalized version of Kingdom hearts 1 and kingdom hearts 2. You get re:com and the other game that I haven't got to yet.

I don't know why you are saying the price is $60. I get it at $35.00 on AMAZON: https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-1-5-2-5-ReMIX-PlayStation/dp/B01M32FMUL/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1498326651&sr=1-1&keywords=Kingdom%2Bhearts%2Bps4&th=1

At $60 it's simply not the going price. Go find it for $40 or so.

Be assured that all bugs have been patched (well, the important ones).

u/kuriatsu · 1 pointr/gaming

I'd suggest going for the kingdom hearts the story so far (minus 3) it's about 40$ usd, and has kh1 final mix, chain of memories re, kh2 final mix, recoded and 358/2 days "movies", birth by sleep, dream drop distance, kh2.8, and the hour long movie or so to hint at kh3 stuff. If you have never played a oh game this is a great set to get, but if you can find the 1.5+2.5 collection and 2.8 for cheaper, go for that as they are the same thing down to the bit from what I've heard.

Edit: you can also get a collection of all of them and kh3 on the psn for 100$ USD with kh1.5 and 2.5+ 2.8 as downloadable as of the purchase

Edit 2:
Psn kh3 all in one https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP0082-CUSA12031_00-COLLECTION300000

Or:
Amazon: Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far - PlayStation 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2KVXY3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_71S.BbB6F3VJX

Or:
Kingdom Hearts Hd 1.5 And 2.5 Remix /ps4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MFFGRVP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_M2S.BbZPS8CBN

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue - PlayStation 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015HAL2OA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_P4S.BbMMGEGJ2

The above would likely keep you busy for quite some time likely til kh3s release.

u/aumanon · 2 pointsr/GameDeals

I first want to note that Heavensward is an expansion pack, and you'll need the base game (A Realm Reborn) in order to play it. There is a bundle available, but it does not include the collector's edition of either game.

You must purchase the game for each platform you want to play on because you must register each version with your game account. Once you've registered the version, you can use the same character(s) across all registered platforms.

However, you can only play the content that is registered to the platform you're playing on. So, if you have the base game and expansion on PS4, but only have the base game on PC, you won't be able to access the expansion pack content on PC. It becomes even more problematic when you log out in an Heavensward area on one platform, because you won't be able to log into your character on a platform that does not have HW registered to your account.

Also, things like macros and settings do not carryover between clients. All that means is that if you customize your settings, you'll have to do it again for each version you play on. There is a feature to migrate settings between the PS3 and PS4 versions, though.

It's worth noting that the NA Playstation Store has the base game for PS4 on sale for $10 and the Collector's Edition for $20. Heavensward is not included, but this will get you started for pretty cheap to see if you like it. You can't get into Heavensward content until you complete the main story quests, which require you to be level 50, so you have some time before you need to worry about that.

Also, if you get the standard edition now, SE sells a "digital upgrade" for $60, which will net you all the extra bonuses of the collector's edition for both ARR and HW. You need only one version of the collector's edition per game to get the goodies, which are all just vanity items.

Hope this helps.

u/arcticfox23 · 1 pointr/patientgamers

Hey /u/spirit32, I've been playing Destiny since the alpha and I've only just recently been comfortable recommending it to friends. Destiny, the base game, is a trial, you won't feel too satisfied with it. I, personally, consider Destiny: The Taken King as the "base" version of Destiny.

Prior to its release, it really really irked me knowing (but not confirmed) that there was a third subclass locked away behind a paywall. They not only introduced more story with TTK, but also fixed a lot of the way the game handles itself up to that point. (I'm sad you won't get to experience Destiny with Peter Dinklage).

I have Rise of Iron and, while its fun, idk if its a good buy. However, being familiar enough with Bungie, you'll be "punished" for not having it so I'd just go all in. If you can be a little more patient, I think black friday would net you a great deal to buy 2 copies of Destiny: The Complete Collection. Getting into Rise of Iron allows you both to play the best part (to me) of Destiny: The Iron Banner. Previous to ROI, the event was held in "the tower," now its held in a new social space that is exclusive to ROI.

At it's current price of $48, I think this is a fair price for all the content it brings with it (complete collection).

Assuming you have a PS3 or PS4, Birth By Sleep is in the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 collection.

They put Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Chain of Memories into the 1.5 collection for PS3.

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix and Birth By Sleep Final Mix in 2.5 for PS3.

And then they did Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 together for PS4.

Sorry its so complicated.

But if you have a PS4 you can just buy

https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-1-5-2-5-ReMIX-PlayStation/dp/B01M32FMUL?crid=2320ZK85EO1N8&keywords=kingdom+hearts+1.5+and+2.5&qid=1536588714&sprefix=kingdom+hearts+&sr=8-1&ref=mp_s_a_1_1

This and have most of the games.

And then Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue(dont ask just go with it) has the rest.

>Because Fortnite is doing something doesn't make it right. And it doesn't give someone else a pass to do that.

And yet Fortnite is praised for their set up and defends how it works against every criticism. And their peak they were literally making millions a day off the sales of skins.

>Rockstar released a complete single player GTAV and RD2 - and all the singleplayer content is in the MP games right from the start.

No they don't there was literally jack shit to do in GTA Online on release in free roam besides kill players and rob stores. Literally all the content at the time was contact missions, races and death matches which took place in lobbies and not free roam. RDR2 Online had all of Rockstar's history of GTA online to pull from as well as previous RDR online and still a massive multi billion dollar company did nothing but copy and past a few basic fetch quests and hunting and fishing into online mode. Then they spent the next what 4 or 5 months in beta for RDR2 so they could validate all the rebalancing because they some how thought an hour of work to earn .15 was a good thing when a good gun costs $10.00.

The only thing single player and multiplayer shares between them is game assets. Which incidentally people complained about Bethesda just flipping game assets from FO4 and giving players an empty unfinished (in their words) game.

>Fortnite doesn't have a single player game.

https://www.amazon.com/Fortnite-PlayStation-4/dp/B071WNVX56/ref=sr_1_20?keywords=fortnite&qid=1554410049&s=gateway&sr=8-20&th=1

Yes it does it is a horde mode game system. The BR game mode was a last minute addition by Epic based off the growing popularity of games like PUBG. And much like how Rockstar they dropped the single player game in favor of the money maker. Because when GTA 5 was released rockstar said they would release updates for online and story mode. At least until online showed to be more of a cash cow and dropped all story mode updates for the game to focus exclusively on online updates.

>RD2 and GTAV you are paying for SP content and then getting a free MP mode.

Then why isn't it a separate free to download game? Shit Lost and the Damned was originally DLC for GTA 4 and yet they released that as a stand alone game.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5

Kingdom Hearts 2.8

All the games are on the PS4 for you to play. 1.5 refers to the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories and the 358/2 Days as a cutscene movie. 2.5 is Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, Birth By Sleep: Final Mix and Re:Coded as a cutscene movie.

It's coming out in March but I highly recommend [Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5] (https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-1-5-2-5-ReMIX-PlayStation/dp/B01M32FMUL) which includes 4 full games. I shared this series with my younger siblings and they love it

u/teap0ts · 1 pointr/ffxiv

If you purchase the FFXV pre-order (sry if this link doesn't work, but the picture shows the product), there is a promo that will give you six freebies, which include: Original Fat Chocobo Mount, Maid Attire, Butler Attire, Crag Mask, Inferno Mask, and 99x Magicked Prism (Wings).

Also comes with the Deluxe Edition pre-order if you were planning on that one instead.

NOTICE: I do not condone stealing in any manner. However, hypothetically, if you order the pre-order, you will automatically receive the promotion code to get the item codes to redeem via Mog Station. You do not have to wait for the shipping/release of the game. So, hypothetically, you could order it, get the codes, then cancel the order. I planned on getting my FFXV pre-ordered anyways, so this was a fun bonus for me. But I do have some poor friends.

Edit: Mods, please lmk if that notice should be removed. I love this subreddit.

u/Moonshatter89 · 2 pointsr/gamereviews

If story is important to you, you will be absolutely lost. If understanding plot is vital to your enjoyment, I can't recommend it. You definitely need to play the other games first for any of the emotional payoff to mean anything.

The 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 collections are an amazing value and could offer a couple hundred hours of value if you find yourself doing optional content. The Story So Far has all of that in one package (if you can find a copy) for about $40. It's fantastic.

u/Serapius · 1 pointr/KingdomHearts

I've only played a few of the previous FF games and I never finished any of them. That being said, I am totally hooked on this one and I'm loving it. I really think its a great starting point if you've never played one before.

Couple of things:

  1. If you do get the game, I highly suggest watching the "Kingsglaive" movie from Amazon/iTunes before playing. It really sets up the story and helps you understand what is going on.

  2. The game is on sale at Amazon today only! https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XV-PlayStation-4/dp/B00DBF829C/?th=1

You're right that Early Access is know for its volatility. But you're ignoring the fact that this is a game with physical copies in stores.

https://www.amazon.com/Fortnite-PlayStation-4/dp/B071WNVX56/

Early Access usually is a digital only release, that is a discounted preview/beta of a game. This is a F2P game that's charging almost full retail for the privilege of getting in. You can't release your game, slap the 'early access' moniker on it, and then not make accommodations for the fact that your game has de facto released.

I'm not saying they aren't allowed to do the typical Early Access activities to this game, but it is not a usual Early Access title and they need to conduct their operations in a manner the reflects that.

As far as the frequency, they've made no such promise. The fact that we're two weeks in and we've already had one reset makes me very nervous. Here's their phrasing:

>As we move through Early Access we will be modifying the game and making changes to improve the experience, at times this will mean changes that require refunds to core systems like the skill tree, research tree, and storm shields.

More resets are coming, and we don't know how frequent they're going to be. That puts a very huge opportunity cost on building up our stormshields or doing the 'bonus' ones after we've moved on to a new area.

Why should I spend hours perfecting my Stonewood defense 8 when I know that they might reset it before I finish it? That's what they've put out there with this update, and they need to realize the consequences of their actions.

You arent buying the correct collection. It should be around 60$ and include ALL dlcs. see here
The game is super fun to play with people and so if you are playing alone you will find it hard to stay up to date with the highest level stuff without using 3rd party lfg programs. It is heavily reliant on guns rather than abilities but at thwe same time the game feels very different depending on which class/subclass of abilities you are using. If you can find a friend or two to play it with i highly recommend it

u/dsebulsk · 2 pointsr/NoMansSkyTheGame

Well the upcoming DLC is worth $30 alone. But there is this collector's edition that has everything including the upcoming DLC for $60.

The Taken King was worth the original $60 price in my opinion (it had an actual story and the April update made the grind negligible!). Year 1 Destiny absolutely did NOT earn it's price.

Year 1 Destiny had a bunch of problems, but you have to hand it to Bungie because they listened to our feedback and improved the game drastically to answer that feedback.

$60 for Y1+Y2+Y3 Destiny is a great deal, considering it is technically a $190 value.

The only problem is you'll have a hard time catching up since the whole community will be focusing on Rise of Iron. But there will be new players you can find.

You can get a more current and accurate answer on what the game would be like for a new, DLC-less player by asking r/DestinyTheGame.

But if you already have the game in hand, it seems like you'd be better served giving it a try and seeing if you even enjoy it before starting to consider whether or not to buy all the DLC (which you can probably do cheapest by buying the collection.

u/tehponycorn · 3 pointsr/KingdomHearts

You really won't. KH3's is built on top of a solid 7+ games. The game does it's best to recap things, but I don't imagine it'd work if you have no knowledge of the series at all. Is it possible? Yes. Will you be very confused though? Yes.

If you pick up KH3, I'd recommend you also pick up The Story So Far. The PS4 version of the game is only $25 on Amazon, so you'd be getting pretty much the entire KH series for less than $50, which is a steal.

More than that, you'd be able to play the entire series and best understand KH3.

u/SalemWolf · 23 pointsr/PS4

Just a heads up right now KH 1.5 + 2.5 and 2.8 are both on sale for $20 at GameStop so until those sales end it's not a better deal.

Although I'm not sure if it's all on one disc or not, I'd doubt it personally but you never know.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 - GameStop

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 - GameStop

Edit: Amazon also has Kingdom Hearts 2.8 for $20. KH 1.5+2.5 looks sold out on Amazon.

u/ezpricealerts · 1 pointr/PS4Deals

Haha, looks like it's a price war between Amazon and a 3rd party seller using an automated repricing software, outbidding each other by 0.01. If anyone's interested you can see here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00YQ2KCWO/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

A 3rd-party seller using Fulfillment by Amazon is pretty much just as good as buying from Amazon itself.

u/Iarduino · 4 pointsr/AskProgramming

From a quick look it seems that the reviews are sent as a response to the intial GET request on amazon and aren't loaded with AJAX. This should make things relatively straightforward.

The way I would go about this is get the url to the product reviews you want. For FFXV it is:
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XV-PlayStation-4/product-reviews/B00DBF829C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_paging_btm_2?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=avp_only_reviews&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=helpful

Send a GET request to that page with &pageNumber=4 appeneded to the end. Replace 4 with a counter starting from 1 and counting up until the response no longer returns reviews.

So the final URLS would be:

https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XV-PlayStation-4/product-reviews/B00DBF829C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_paging_btm_2?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=avp_only_reviews&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=helpful&pageNumber=1

https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XV-PlayStation-4/product-reviews/B00DBF829C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_paging_btm_2?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=avp_only_reviews&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=helpful&pageNumber=2

etc.

For each page, after you receive the response, you need to parse the page for reviews somehow. I would recommend using xpath. Using the following snippet "//div[@data-hook='review']" you should be able to pull all the reviews from each page.
If you want to test this out open a review page and open the chrome dev console and type in $x("//div[@data-hook='review']") this should return an array of reviews for the page you run it on.

Next you'll need to move the reviews to the client. I'm not sure how you will be putting them on the website so I can't help you much there. If there is a form or something you can inspect the network packets using chrome dev tools and try to recreate the requests.
If there is a form or something it'll probably be a POST request with some fields. You would then pair the form fields to the corresponding data from amazon and submit the request.

If you are completely unfamiliar with what I've just typed out it'll take quite some time. On the other hand if you write it well it could be reusable in the future and that'd probably look pretty good on you.

These are the things you want to look into:

REST calls

xpath

From the PS4 I think he wanted one of the newer Kingdom Hearts games. This or this. Also you just look up Arduino or rasperry pi kits and there's usually some game kind of deal.
Also here's some PS4 stuff. 1 or 2. If you do two check the sellers for best ratings and stuff. But 1 seems the way to go because of the game. Also if you do just end up getting him a PS4 no game get the kid kingdom hearts remaster (not the 2.8).
But if you go aruino go with this and this and this. Those three are cheaper than the PS4 and he'll learn more.
Also all this is from the perspective of a guy who's had to buy his own games and stuff.

u/smashybro · 1 pointr/patientgamers

Oh, wow. I thought you were talking about playing BBS on the remastered collections, but yeah they did release a mega collection on the PS4! If you want just the first six games of the series, there's the 1.5+2.5 collection. If you want the entire series though, they recently released a mega collection that has all the games in the series.

If you haven't played the "Final Mix" versions of KH1 and KH2, I definitely recommend getting one of the collections to do so. They have a bunch of extra stuff like optional bosses and new difficulty modes.

u/Titanium_Machine · 0 pointsr/PS4

Keep an eye out for deals. Right now it's running at 48$ on Amazon.

Otherwise, BF4 will give you tons to do and is quite cheap. Very active population on PS4 as well. Rainbow Six Siege is also quite active (though a bit janky) and you can get DLC for free, though I wouldn't call it a run n' gun game, it's very tactical and tense.

Destiny - The Taken King may be worth looking into. You either click with it, or you don't. And if you do click with it, you're in dozens and dozens of hours of work, thus making it a potentially great worth.

u/Gribblegrunger · 2 pointsr/NoMansSkyTheGame

Buy it second hand. I can buy it for about £20 locally at the moment. It keeps you hooked, yes, as long as you let yourself enjoy it and not enter into the game with a preconceived notion of playing it with a critical eye. Just enjoy the moment to moment gameplay. I'd suggest Survival right off the bat, if you have patience and understand something that seems impossible becomes second nature after a while. And remember, NMS has had several patches and two huge updates to flesh it out. With more coming in the not too distant future, it's a game to own in my opinion.

Some of these prices are not the best. If you bought 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 on PSN right now that's like 73 dollars. If you're open to physical, Amazon has the Story So Far (the exact same content in one box) for $30 right now:

Link

If you buy that, it will give you over 100+ hours to play and by then KH3 might have a better sale.

Ni No Kuni 2 and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth are two other great games but again you'll find better deals physical (and they've had better digital discounts before).

u/FuckinHomerunChippah · 3 pointsr/gamecollecting

Be sure to pick up The Last of Us Remastered. It's only $18 right now on Amazon and worth every penny. Easily the best game I've played in 10 years.

u/_SnakeDoctor · 3 pointsr/nier

I don't have the PS4 version or a PS4, but I think PS4 is the way to go. I have it on PC and tons of people are having various problems with it. Mine at least runs somewhat stable, but I have to play it on a low-ish resolution (like 720p ish) with almost no processing to get a decent framerate. It still looks pretty, but my PC/graphics card should be able to do much better.

I also don't know if there have been major patches or if there will be patches.

Furthermore, it's on sale for PS4 on Amazon for $45, whereas I think the PC version is still $60. Also, even if you played it on PC, controller would still be the way to go.

u/Gestrid · 3 pointsr/KingdomHearts

If you enjoy the music now, once you finish the series, you should definitely listen to /u/ProjectDestati's music. They do orchestrated versions of several tracks. (I'd suggest not looking up the music itself until you finish the series, by the way.)

Also, I'm not sure if you know this, but there's also Kingdom Hearts 2.8, which you should play after you finish all of the 1.5+2.5 disc.

Get Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 when it comes out at the end of march for PS4. It has the two main games (Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2) which are what you'll want to play.

Sure, there a bunch of other games included that you could play in chronological order, but really you're there for KH1 and KH2.

Then if you've played through all of that, you can get 2.8 to tide you over before KH3 comes out.

Alright I am very new to the game and have a few questions about the steam vs amazon way of buying it.

So first, I downloaded the demo from steam, and the launcher through there as well and also think I made an account through there.

After that, I played a bit enjoyed the game and decided to buy it through amazon. this is the specific one I bought However, when I try and transfer my account it says that "The code I entered cannot be used with a steam free trial account" and asks me to purchase a copy of the game.

My primary confusion is do I have to buy another thing or make a new account? I do not know what steps to take from here unfortunately

The new game is coming out in September, but there is sure to be a good sized community still playing Destiny for the near future.

Yes, Royal has better visuals. P5 was originally announced to come out in Winter 2014 for PS3, but then it got delayed a lot, and at a point they realised it would be stupid not to release for the PS4, so it's essentially like a simultaneously released remaster.

P5R is made exclusively for the PS4, so they're cranking up the visuals coz they don't have to worry about how it'll run on the PS3.

It seems like it's cheaper on Flipkart right now than Amazon. Dunno if they're still including that beautiful controller skin with the standard edition, but I got it with my physical copy.

You could purchase Destiny 1 right now and sprint through enough of the story to understand what's happening before D2 comes out. Get this edition (maybe wait til it's a little cheaper). You won't collect-em-all but it's a fun universe to experience - and you can do all the story missions with 2 other friends. As for the raids, likely would have to get carried through those or just read a wiki about the story from them.

It's $17.16, new for PS4, on Amazon right now. I picked it up last week.

They came out with the 'Foundation' update a couple month ago that essentially added a quick menu system that lets you quickly 'recharge' your tools, ship systems, shields, etc. by pressing down on the d-pad, you can build save points, signal boosters, and comm relays anywhere on a planet by pressing up, and if you find an abandoned base on a planet, you can build on to it and stuff. You can also purchase a large Frigate that acts as a mobile base/storage area that follows you to each system. You can hire aliens to work for you and maintain your bases and develop upgrades for you. I haven't done much with it yet, but I know it's all there and apparently working pretty good.

The 'zombies' are actually not zombies, R3mmel. If you buy The Story So Far, you get every game that's not KH3 represented in some way. It's a pretty good value as you get five games, one smaller game/tech demo, and three movies.

If that's too much, just grab 1.5 + 2.5 Collection. This gives you four games and two movies, and contains KH1 and KH2.

Ah - I use Amazon's lowest price as I find it the quickest comparison tool - which had Mario Party at $40 loose, Second Son at $10 CiB, and KH $21 New.

I can understand lowering the value of Mario Party as you could probably find it cheaper elsewhere (Ebay, etc) to $28. I think since you can find KH new on amazon for $21 we can agree to do the same for that?

One thing that I think hurts this comparison is that the price on TLOU launched high, but if you didn't want to pay that much you could simply wait a little while and get it cheaper. With a little patience you'd be all set to get it at a price you deem fair. That strategy doesn't work with many Nintendo games. Actually, TLOU: Remastered and MK8 both launched near each other. I wonder what their price history looks like...

TLOU: Remastered Amazon price history

MK8 Amazon price history

You can see a pretty stark difference. TLOU got as low as $10 and MK8 only ever got down to $42. TLOU was also frequently at $30 or less. That doesn't even cover the much more frequent Playstation digital sales.

And I remember paying $50 for TLOU Remastered at launch.

First of all, you don't need PS+ or extra controllers to play this single player game.

Thus to "just play this one game" (his words) it would cost $250 for the PS4 (and that includes Uncharted 4 bundled in!) + $60 for HZD, for a total of $310 + tax. Not exactly $600.

I suppose this assumes he has a screen to play it on and a house/electricity to power it (which he should, given that he's said he plays PC games with his wife).

I can answer stuff too! I don't know alot about this, but I can do my best to answer stuff.

  1. I do believe Amazon ships internationally, so just order it from [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GKHJP98/ref=twister_B01GQMC3Q4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) and it should come to ya. Don't think there should be any issue there. If there is, someone here could always order it for you, as Artemis said. I know that works for sure.

  2. 60 bucks for PS4 and 50 for PS3. In terms of shipping, not sure, but I'd guess about 10 dollars? Shouldn't be more than that.

  3. Only way it wouldn't is if P5 becomes the first PS4 game to be region-locked. Which would be silly.

  4. I don't think so. Two weeks is about the worst case scenario I think.

  5. 3%? Only 3 because P4A was, but that was Arc Sys developing it so I don't know who to blame there.

  6. If you want to go through the hassle of making an NA PSN account, then yes I think. You may have to order NA PSN cards from online or something to that nature, but you should be able to.

tl;dr - Don't freak out, there's plenty of ways to get the game, yo.

if you are looking for the ps4 version:

You haven't mentioned region so I'm assuming NA region:

Playstation Store digital version

Amazon.com physical version

for PC just click the amazon link and switch the platform to PC.

Those bundles contain the base game and Heavensward expansion. That's all you need for now as both versions come with a free month subscriptions :)

I don't remember how I came across this, but if you want the remastered for PS4 digitally the price for this voucher usually hovers just above $20.

Got mine a bit back and worked perfectly.

Destiny is ~$5 used so that plus $13 is roughly $20 with tax. If you play on PS4 Amazon has the collection which includes the base game plus all the dlc including the one beyond the taken king for $40 but it is physical. The new dlc is currently going for $30.

If you are going for PS3 I would say that you'd be experiencing a watered down version and it has a lot of grinding for gear and repetitive missions. You would also have to port your data over to PS4 if you wanted to continue your experience as they are not longer going to support PS3 for future Destiny releases.

Either way it will either consume you or you'll lose interest due to lack of updates/new content and be prepared for your HDD to get pretty full.

I also was unable to locate one on the psn us store. It looks like it's only 20 for base game and 20 for xpack separate buys.. So $40. If your okay with disk amz wins for cheaper and bundle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UO4NKA4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_G8vsybQG0Y8SY

I think there are more options than people assume. It isn't "Delayed" or "Not Delayed," but it could be production issues for the PS4 physical version, which would require Sony to do SOMETHING since Steam would have a lock on the their date, and wouldn't be inclined to changing it, it could be that there's just some fuckery with Gamestop, and Sony/HG has no idea where it's coming from, and wants to work that out before issuing anything, or it's not delayed at all, and they just want to enjoy the huge pop in news they got for a few days, and they'll clear it all up (one way or another) come Monday.

Since EVERY retailer (Amazon... Best Buy... Steam...)but Gamestop hasn't had this information, and every retailer including Gamestop still has it as June 21st, there's really no reason to address these rumors.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/PS4

Perhaps you bought it from a third party seller thru Amazon? A lot of products are sold that way.

There are other codes you can buy for pretty cheap:

I could preorder on Steam, pre-download it, play it on release, then if I like it, refund it and buy it cheaper for $40. Seems easier/quicker than renting and then waiting a couple of weeks when it's cheaper, then having to wait for them to deliver, and probably pay for delivery depending on your location.

Plus it doesn't seem to be the case that Amazon always have games at $40 within a few weeks of release. Here's some examples:

Infinite Warfare is $55 on PS4 vs $30 on PC

Battlefield 1 is $51.75 on PS4 vs $46 on PC

Overwatch Origins Edition is $60 on PS4 vs $40 on PC

Keep in mind Amazon are having a holiday sale at the moment, so those discounts PS4 games currently have won't stay that way, whereas I can always find a deal from the sites IsThereAnyDeal aggregates.

For US, Amazon has a better deal for Prime members at $39.99 with free shipping:

Well you said Amazon, so here is Amazon :)

Not my kind of game, but the last of us does have some very pretty visuals and it's 21.79 on amazon for the digital version. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00OBZNI0O/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1418830112&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&dpPl=1&dpID=51xISdGnMhL&ref=plSrch also check r/ps4deals

Surprise!

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX - PlayStation 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M32FMUL/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_LfpuybH15W9Q5

u/Prince_Pyro · 1 pointr/hockey

It's $48 on Amazon. Fun game, but there's not too much to it right now. 2 game modes and a handful of maps.

It is getting some free post-launch content, though.

u/crono09 · 4 pointsr/gaming

The games you need are Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX (comes out in March) and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (already out). Next year, the series will finish with the release of Kingdom Hearts III.

To get the full story, you pretty much have to play every game. A couple of them aren't as important, but you'll still miss something if you skip them. The remixes only include the cut scenes for some games, which is enough if you just want the story.

u/xxxamazexxx · 0 pointsr/BlackPeopleTwitter

GTA V regularly goes on sale for $15 now. Also, last year I was able to trade it in for $30 in credit, with a pro membership and a trade-in promo.

People here really expect to walk in Gamestop any day of the week and get half the MSRP for their old ass games. Get real.

If you want to beat Gamestop you have to be smarter than they are. Trade in before you know the value of a game is going to drop, or after the value is going to rise. Scout for underpriced games on Facebook Marketplace and Reddit. Don’t put in the work, don’t expect any gains.

Edit: for the souls that are attempting to downvote me right now, [GTA V is $15 on Amazon.](Grand Theft Auto V - PlayStation 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KVSQ848/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_xr9UCbPH1MMXP) Dafuck you think you’re gonna get at Gamestop?

u/Ikkinthekitsune · 2 pointsr/FFXV

Another thing to keep in mind with KH: the best way to get into the series is The Story So Far, which includes HD remasters of everything up to KHIII and costs ~$34 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Story-So-Far-PlayStation/dp/B07J2KVXY3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=kingdom+hearts+the+story+so+far&qid=1562252292&s=gateway&sprefix=kingdom&sr=8-1). It's PS4 exclusive, though.

u/petemikeonline · 2 pointsr/AskGames

Thank you for the feedback! As far as I know, the Destiny Collection will also include The Rise of Iron DLC bundled in,(https://www.amazon.com/Destiny-Collection-PlayStation-4-Standard/dp/B01K63R7HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474046056&sr=8-1&keywords=destiny+collection+ps4) so I won't have to pay $90, only $60. And I really enjoy RPGs so this may be the move.

u/Renegade_Meister · 3 pointsr/NoMansSkyTheGame

newegg.com just happens to be the first retailer I've seen who hasn't mentioned the pre-order ship bonus like other retailers such as amazon or best buy

u/dogger6253 · 1 pointr/truegaming

I'm pretty sure Left Behind is sold on its own now. Otherwise, the remaster is only $20 on Amazon right now.

u/wanfaltm · 1 pointr/PS4

I recommend picking this up when it comes out: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M32FMUL/ref=aw_wl_ov_dp_1_6?colid=3NSVX5WM2PXLG&coliid=I23GNHT7AFBW97

Birth by sleep isn't %100 necessary but since the 2.8 remix comes out in January I would recommend picking it up and playing it in the meantime. It provides lots of backstory for the main games.

u/gamd1 · 2 pointsr/KingdomHearts

If I were any of you I would pre-order it on Amazon first. Payment isn't taken until the game ships and it's more reliable than Best Buy for ordering online.
