This sounds like one of those crazy ideas that some sales or marketing peep comes up with that seems stupid-easy to the non-tech, but winds up giving us nightmares.
Even if you solve all the streaming, bandwidth, and connectivity issues (and don't forget, wifi that's perfectly stable during testing can easily go to hell when an audience shows up with their phones and laptops trying to hit the network as well...), it would be unwatchable due to lag with playback or any 'live' source like a camera. The only thing you could use it for would be graphics, since even with the best streaming connections you'd still be seconds out of sync with reality.
Also, iPads demand to be played with. You establish a connection and a stream to each device, and then throw it out on a table. The first person that picks it up is going to hit home and start swiping around. How do they get back to the stream seamlessly and without assistance? Are these their personal devices or are they strictly for show and you lock them down completely, even to the point of putting them in enclosures to prevent physical button access?
Are using the actual iPads a necessity? I've done old-school wired set-ups where we distribute a signal to a monitor on every table. It's not as sexy as seeing it on your own iPad, but it scratches the itch for having the content 'in your face'.
For something wireless, what about a small-scale local broadcast DTV signal to a couple dozen of something like these?
then https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-955Q
looks to be baked right in the kernel these days
but to be honest wouldnt something like https://www.amazon.com/SuperSonic-Portable-Widescreen-Display-Compatible/dp/B00DTZNCCQ be easier to work with and yes a couple bucks cheaper?
computers are for pr0n and tvs are for watching tv
I got a TV that looks like the same model. but its a "disney princess" one. its pink. the channel indicator is princess cinderella and the volume is a swimming ariel with a bubble trail.
the settings menu has flowers all over it.
I say its the same TV cause take away the pooh plastic figure on top and paint it pink and its the exact same. (menu buttons give it away)
I acquired it because our neighbors were moving out, and they left 2 CRTs on the street. ones a 31 or so inch and the other was the disney princess one.
EDIT: its this one http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Princess-13-Color-TV/dp/B0001NE52A but without the tiara thing on top (looks like it was removed)
I'd recommend it because of the cinematic frame rate, but really 4k is such a waste of money. Better off getting something like this so you don't hurt your eyes on the unnecessary pixels and the cancer-causing frames.
I have an old tube TV in my van that doesn't work. Was looking for something to replace it in the cubbie holder, and found options like this. It seems like it could work, and can be plugged into DC power, or just charged on DC.
Unfortunately a capture card would be your best bet without trying to do some crazy solder mod on the LCD directly. Otherwise, I'd suggest getting a small portable LCD/LED monitor like this one here to take the input from the Xbox.
http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-VMB070-Inch-Razor-Portable/dp/tech-data/B00462RU6A/ref=de_a_smtd
It seems like you are correct: https://www.amazon.com/Hello-Kitty-Square-Screen-Display/dp/B00009LZP8/?tag=lege1-20
I'm not sure I understand.
For me the issue has been that CRTs are not as easy to just "plug and play" as modern day LCDs and plasmas. Maybe I'm just fortunate enough to own HDTVs with all the right inputs for retro gaming.
I've owned 3 Trinitrons and the only one that didn't give me any beef is the 13" KV-13FS100
I just have not been fortunate enough to find a CRT without major issues
I have a small tv similar to this one that takes an antenna that looks like that
I had a coby mini tv about 5 inches b&w with a radio, something like this, and it had a very similar kind of adaptor for the antenna.
E:This listing on ebay shows the jack on the back of the unit and a similar adaptor for an f connector to it
Normal has changed. You still can get a small TV for around $70 (maybe cheaper, didn't look around too much). If there was more demand they would probably be a lot cheaper, but the market for these is very limited now.
https://www.amazon.com/SuperSonic-Portable-Widescreen-Display-Compatible/dp/B004P5I666
$70 was worth more in 1997 also, I'm sure the chart factors that in.
There were at least 3 of these at Genesis 3
I want one.
There are at least three types of things you can watch on a TV:
Sending data over a wire is cheaper than sending it wirelessly. So your cable TV and cable Internet give you lots of data per month, while your cell phone carrier gives you less.
No way, dude. Portable TVs weren't that expensive in 2001. It's just a niche product.
edit: this TV was available when the original gameboy advance came out...
But you could have had one of these
Just a different thought, but why not a small, lightweight, portable tv? This ONE weighs the same or less than most laptops.
This came up a while ago. See my reply here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Filmmakers/comments/2y1exz/does_anyone_know_what_christopher_nolan_is/cp5t0vd?context=3
As for the specific model, it's next to impossible to tell from the picture.
It could be this: http://www.amazon.ca/Haier-HLT71-7-Inch-Handheld-LCD/dp/B001E78UQY
I find that on some sets sometimes.
This one
The future of television.
Would something with a built-in VCR like this work, and what exactly am I looking for with a manual tuner?
Found it! It's a Casio EV: 4500, and as predicted, is a wireless viewing screen. Accually really affordable, at 70$, more infor here;

>No TVs have built in Antennas
Yes, there are.
Should be gaming with one of these instead for a more authentic experience.

Seems a little overkill, I have this and it really makes the console graphics pop on screen.

Not my listing.

this is the model 13" it has some really cool features, its an FM radio, it can record VHS and you can mark where the commercials are and the TV can be programmed to skip through the areas you mark as commercials. Also its a snazzy white set. The guy wants 100$ for it which is kind of insane unless the thing is new in box and even then...you may be able to haggle the price down a bit though. I thought it was a cool set so I'm posting about it here
https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-PV-C1352W-13-Inch-Combo-White/dp/B00005V9QA
> What did you guys do with your first pay check ?
I bought one of these, a panasonic 13'' TV/VCR combo. I might be dating myself a bit here. I think I bought my Nintendo 64 with money from the same check. Later that summer I bought my first desktop computer.
http://www.amazon.com/GE-13TVR62-13-Inch-VCR-Combo/dp/B000056SKX. Okay. :(
Is THIS what you have? I couldn't find a "Sony" CX-TV6 that you mention in your post.
It is powered by 12V from either the AC adapter, car power outlet, or batteries. From that 12V supply, connect this to get the 5V required for the pi:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1385
You should have no problem removing the battery compartment and powering everything off the 12V from the AC power supply.
What does American health care have to do with capitalism? Unfortunately, it's corporatism, or even socialism. The government pays for 2/3rds of health care costs. How is that even remotely a "capitalistic" system?
http://www.pnhp.org/news/2016/january/government-funds-nearly-two-thirds-of-us-health-care-costs-american-journal-of-pub
>Anyway I'm only responding if you cite evidence for your claims, starting with healthcare.
Healthcare is a government entity in America. It's an example of socialism, mostly.
Let's look at TVs. By your model, they should get worse, have less features, be less efficient overt time, apparently.
The price of this 10 inch piece of shit TV in 1948 was 325$
http://www.tvhistory.tv/1948-Grinnell-p26.JPG
It didn't do much, didn't have a remote and was in black and white. By your logic, as far as I can tell, the TV should now be in 7 inch, and be only in black. This TV would cost today $3,391. It also weighs a shit ton.
Now, here's a TV from today. 10 Inch. 89$ Light as a feather, in color, gets a bazillion stations, has a remote control and has internet access.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYW8M5Y/ref=psdc_979930011_t1_B001OXKPDO
Are you really arguing this, or are you arguing because you're retarded?
