Insulbrite is what your after. It needs a face fabric for durability, but only on the outside imo. I just used uncoated 20D nylon but waterever you have on hand will be fine.
Just made my second quilt, but my local shop here in the Florida Keys sells Quilters Dream. They said its preferred because its light weight, and most people don't want a heavy quilt in the keys. https://www.amazon.com/Quilters-Dream-Batting-QDN3TH-Natural/dp/B00BLNXXQI/ref=sr_1_49?crid=1QWMEWXT5JIU0&keywords=batting+quilt&qid=1573570333&sprefix=batting+q%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-49

There is fusible batting you may want to try but I think it would be time consuming too ironing all that down. Basting is one of those things you don't want to try and shortcut since you can totally ruin a quilt with tucks if you don't get it right.
