You can't daisy chain HDMI monitors.

Your options are to see if your laptop manufacturer has a first party docking station that has 3 outputs, or you could get a third party dock like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Universal-Docking-Station-Ethernet/dp/B00ECDM78E

The last option would be to get a couple of USB Video cards like these: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB-HDMI-Adapter-External/dp/B00H91BQ7Y/

Good luck.

So after doing some research, most external HDD's (as long as they have a usb 3.0 or 2.0 interface) should work. I didn't do a lot of digging, but below is an external hard drive which should work.

https://www.amazon.ca/Fantom-External-3-Year-Warranty-GF3B500UP/dp/B00A0HZUE4/ref=sr_1_2?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1517843876&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+2.0+external+hdd

If price is less of an issue, I have some clients who love their LaCie external drives. These are rugged and can take a great deal of abuse.
https://www.amazon.ca/LaCie-Rugged-External-Drive-9000298/dp/B00IRV005E/ref=sr_1_3?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1517843876&sr=8-3&keywords=usb+2.0+external+hdd

If you would like a cheaper option and have an old hard drive then you'd want to search for a usb 2.0 external hard drive enclosure. You'd need to make sure the enclosure will support the type of drive you have (PATA/SATA etc) then just install the hard drive in the enclosure, set up the enclosure, plug in to usb, plug in to power and off you go.

I really like my CM Storm Trigger. Now it is a gaming keyboard, but the only extra "frills" you would notice are a few extra keys on the left side. Mechanical keyboards are extremely high quality, and this one is no joke. For a dispatcher you would probably want the Cherry MX Blue switches, the have a bit more feedback and are better for typing. I can guarantee your dispatchers would love you forever if you got them this keyboard.

In case you aren't familiar with the mechanical keyboard lingo. The various coloring of the switches indicates how the keystroke works. Blue is really "clicky", red is a smooth action with no click, and brown is somewhere in between.

If that card is heavy enough to warp itself like that, you should install the bracket (hopefully came with the card) if not you can find the one I use for my dual card setup (also works with single cards)

While hooks and dental floss may work temporarily the do not have the same support evenness(?) Means you are pulling up on the end and not supporting the whole card.

Good product -I use it - It looks neat -like a little tripod

A) First off, if you are close to your router, invest in some Cat5e or Cat6 cable for connection. A lot of people here might preach Wi-Fi, but I believe for what you intend to use this computer for (Gaming???, probs due to its name) you'll have better luck & Connection by hardwiring directly to the router itself.

B) https://www.amazon.com/PCI-Wifi-adapter/dp/B007GMPZ0A/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_txt?ie=UTF8 This SHOULD work for a wi-fi adapter. This is coming from an Amazon review who bought the Motherboard and then went on to put this adapter in one of his open slots.

My area does not experience brown outs and I'm pretty sure the outlet works; the the computer other devices will continue to be powered. So I do not want to ruin my new components, so I went ahead and purchased a new power supply. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00596CP9E/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I did decide to go balls to the wall a bit, its such a cheap ps for the power it has, and I checked that is has dual 12v27,28 ATX12 100,000 hours average. If you can find anything wrong with it pls let me know ha. It does seem to good to be true, but I like taking chances.

Amazon Rosewill Gigabit Lan

I chose it because it had overall good reviews, it was on sale and it had free one day shipping thanks to amazon prime

u/robin_flikkema · 1 pointr/24hoursupport

B) Yes. But depending on the Accesspoint (read: router) OP is better of buying a card that also supports 802.11ac (maybe even with DFS/TPC) like this one

Hey, looked into the product you linked to, but I have a quick question.

The one you linked has a microUSB (which I would have to stick into the hard drive). Thing is, my hard drive doesn't have a microUSB, it has an extended version, like the one here:
http://www.amazon.com/eForCity-dual-Micro-B-Cable-Black/dp/B005M0ICG2/ref=pd_cp_e_1#customerReviews

So the one I found LOOKs like a better choice, except that this one needs two USB 3 when I only have 2.0. Would it still get enough juice from my laptop?

Just as Streichholzschachtel said you would need active DisplayPort adapter.

Just a few hours ago, I replied the following on a similar thread, which could help you pick adapter if you decides to get one:

A while back, on a multi-monitor setup, I've used this HIS Mini-DisplayPort to DVI Adapter AMD Eyefinity-ready and it worked flawlessly right out of the box(at first i tried this Accell B087B-006B UltraAV Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified, which did not work, even though it was ATI certified).

One other solution which I've found to help out a bunch in the past, is to buy one of those cooling pads (such as that from Belkin, which requires only a spare USB port rather than a mains socket). The idea is that the pad is curved and therefore lifts the laptop off of the surface it'd usually be on, and has an extra fan. This helps ventilate the laptop considerably.

http://www.amazon.com/VGA-HDMI-Cable-6-feet/dp/B002TUC64W is the link to the one i bought. Yeah, I thought at the time is was too easy but for $4 I thought I would try. Now I would like something that would for sure work.

u/K30 · 2 pointsr/24hoursupport

I needed an Active DisplayPort adapter to get a third monitor going on my 6950. It's possible you need the same.
