I've tried a couple cheap-o grips, and they never feel quite right. The plastic ones always seem kind of loose and I don't like the feel of silicon after an extended period. The Satisfye looks pretty good, but what I'm holding out for is the Hori Split Pad Pro, which basically splits a Pro Controller in half and turns them into Joy-cons, with the addition of things like programmable back paddles that are pretty standard on elite/pro style controllers now.
Granted, it's about twice as much as just a grip, but it's still cheaper than a new set of official Joy-cons.

I highly recommend [Agricola Family Edition (2016)](Agricola Family Edition Game https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J93AXJG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7qnuybXAFN5NM)! It's almost completely language independent (the board and pieces use symbols and numbers instead of any words), except for the rule book. The new, streamlined family edition is much faster to play than the original at about 45min long. This makes it perfect for a new gamer, but still challenging and deep for more experienced players.

Dixit and Codenames are my two go-tos for that style of crowd. I also had an absolute blast playing a newer game called Werewords. It's an odd sounding mashup of 20 questions and One Night/werewolf. In which the players try to guess a secret word by asking yes and no questions while one secret player is the werewolf who tries to derail them. We played it for hours at my last party.
