I use this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07R5941R9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It works great if you're not using the Nvidia GPU. If my 2060 is running, the charger just slows down the battery drain. I, like you, wanted a smaller charger from traveling and this one works well for me, since I normally have mine in Optimus mode and limit the refresh rate to 60hz.

This is similar to the K501UW-AB78. The only difference is that this model doesn't seem to have newer cooling technology. The AB78 has a half TB SSD. This is a legit link, but beware if it as an open-box product.

As for a site showcasing ASUS machines, it seems that ASUS is marketing the latest in their line up. Amazon has a concise view.

By the way, I just purchased the AB-78 and it is awesome for its price point. The SSD is blazing fast and it has the same specs as the laptop you linked(besides storage).

You’re in luck; I have the RT-AC68 as well! Here’s my adapter As long as the voltage, size, and polarization matches it doesn’t matter. This one looks like it matches the model number.

Okay awesome! There’s another laptop I’m looking at. I can only find one review online and it says it has “IPS like” viewing angles. I contacted ASUS a couple times, and they tell me something different each time, also, the answered question on Amazon says it’s IPS, even though other ASUS employees said it’s TN. Do you know how I could find this information? I’ll link the laptop below.

How do you get your Thermaltake case fans and CPU cooler to work with Aura Sync (the motherboard lighting system)? This is one of those good news / bad news situations.

Good News: the answer to this is simple, quick, and easy.

Bad News: You can't.

You kind of touched on it earlier in your post, but the different manufacturers all have their own proprietary connections. Some are just starting to work with each other, but for the most part you need to do a lot of research before you start putting things from different manufacturers together.

Your Thermaltake stuff goes a step further and is designed to almost be a closed system. Your case fans come with a small controller that provides power and RGB light control. Your CPU cooler has the same thing, a separate controller for RGB lighting. They're designed to be used independent of other systems, mostly so that they aren't tied to a specific manufacturer (i.e. the Thermaltake case can be used with any motherboard manufacturer).

So to summarize, you have 3 points of RGB lighting control:

  1. Your Asus motherboard, which can control anything Aura Sync compatible
  2. Your ThermalTake CPU cooler controller
  3. Your Thermaltake case fans

I'm not sure how many ports are available on either Thermaltake controllers, but you may be able to plug the fans or the CPU cooler all into one controller, which would simplify controlling all those fans a bit.

Having said that, did you want something simple for the lighting, i.e. a solid colour? Because you may be able to set all three controls to something simple (such as just a solid blue colour). Other effects, such as 'breathing' may be possible if you sync or time activating them with the Thermaltake switches, but that might take some playing around.

But what if I want to control the CPU cooler and fans from Aura sync anyways? The only way to do that is to replace those components. Your Thermaltake case came with 3x140mm RGB fans, so you could replace those with these Coolermaster fans that Aura sync compatible (they come with a controller, but you don't need to use it if you don't want to). Your CPU cooler is a little trickier, of the top of my head I don't know of a AIO CPU cooler with 3 fans that are non-addressable RGB. I know there's a bunch of 2-fan options. Cooler Master has a 3-fan addressable cooler that comes with a controller, but the controller can work with Aura Sync, plus it has an input for non-addressable/4-pin RGB lighting. Meaning, even though your motherboard only has 4-pin/non-addressable headers, you might be able to use the included controller to control the 3-pin/addressable RGB lights on the cooler.

RGB lighting is kind of in a confusing place right now for PC's, but hopefully this helps.

I have a G751 and occassionally take it other places, I have this bag https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003ZWN8YA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and find it acceptable. Use the shoulder strap or just the hand grip. Fits the charger, mouse mat and mouse in so does the job.

There are a lot of Amazon reviews regarding reliability concerns with the UX430UA. Unfortunately, there isn't as much information on the Q325UA because it's a Best Buy-only model. The Q325 is on sale this week. I was considering an HP Spectre x360 with similar specs, but this will be $300 less, so I'm probably going for the Asus. I'm using it for travel, so the 2-in-1 design is a plus along with the USB-C charging that means I can get something like this to charge multiple phones, batteries, and the laptop.

Edit: If all-day-power is a concern, there are portable batteries for USB-C power delivery. The 430 uses a traditional power brick, so no portables.

It was quite tedious scrolling through every single adapter for the specific type I need, I have ordered this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004C9M7UG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and hope for the best. I will return the broken adapter

I found this on amazon https://www.amazon.com/PLD09210S12M-PLD09210S12HH-Graphics-1070Ti-1080Ti/dp/B07DW3874R but i think you could replace it with other fans that are better

u/__redruM · 1 pointr/ASUS

If you are sure of the format:

https://www.amazon.com/Blue-NAND-500GB-SSD-WDS500G2B0B/dp/B073SBX6TY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=m.2+ssd+sata&qid=1555110630&s=gateway&sr=8-3

I don’t believe you can get the NVMe drive if the laptop supports SATA. Upgrade to the 1TB if you can afford it.

https://www.amazon.com/VESA-Mount-Adapter-Asus-Monitors/dp/B01DAYSNU6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520400096&sr=8-1&keywords=vz249h+vesa

This seems to fit the 24 inch version of the same monitor and there is one answer that claims it also fits the 27 inch version. Maybe try it and if it doesnt work you can always return to Amazon.

u/fabier · 1 pointr/ASUS

Its not a bad machine. I'm not sure what would work well for your use-case though. Gaming laptops get hot and they get loud so they don't light on fire lol.

What I would do is buy your GF a pair of these and then get whatever gaming laptop you want: https://www.amazon.com/AcousticSheep-SleepPhones-Classic-Headphones-Medium/dp/B0046H8ZHS/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1486475231&sr=8-12&keywords=sleep+headphones

Of course you still have the heat issue -- but nothing that a decent lap-desk can't cure.

u/klyma-vl · 1 pointr/ASUS

I see for example here , it says 16 gb of Ram, so that mean that it has 8 soldered and 8 in slot? Can you share your model ,please?

u/P4yn3_Ger · 1 pointr/ASUS

I also checked this and tested two Cables. I have this one now https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07JG2LGB9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I could check back with the original one that was in the package, and try Hdmi.

u/Dorx86 · 1 pointr/ASUS

I bought this strip a year ago from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LQS65BM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
in one of the comments it says it works with Aura. I guess ~ it doesn't work. Do you any light strips compatible with Aura?
