So I've been really loving Scandinavian music over the last year or so, but last fall I came up against a brick wall in figuring out how to accompany it on the accordion - the right hand often imitates or harmonizes with a fiddle, but the rhythmic accents of the Polska in particular are so much more than a standard waltz.

If anyone has been in that state with regards to Swedish music, I would highly recommend checking out the Stabi-Janson duo, a fiddle/accordion duo that plays amazingly well together. Since it's just a duo, the sound is really exposed and there's a lot to discover about how to accompany a Polska, a Schottis and other genres of Swedish music on the accordion, and I spent about a month with this CD in my car trying to internalize it.

This is the titletrack off of the above-linked CD, which is incredibly catchy.

I can only speak to the one I own. It's this D'Luca. It's well padded, fairly comfortable to carry (the straps aren't too narrow), and pretty roomy. If anything it could be too roomy for some smaller 120 basses. There's definitely room for my smaller ones to shift a bit, but my main accordion fits well. Either way, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

If you're looking at about 300, this. They're smaller accordions, with fewer bass notes, but it has enough bass notes to play most songs. Also they are a little farther apart than normal which makes it easier to learn and play on.

Good for beginners if you ask me.

I play from this, it's arranged for piano rather than accordion but works ok for me https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0793503701/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GADKAbD6N6PTA Violin arrangements tend to work well too if you can find one. Enjoy!

I have a few of these in different strengths that I purchased as a guitar player, but they do wonders for hand strength in general. I use them on the train or watching TV at home.

Theres a book called "Teach yourself to play accordion"

I bought these and I really like them. They’re thick and neoprene, and adjustable.

The Russian Folk accordion is quite different from the Western folk accordions.

The Garmon has a unique button layout, and unlike your Panther are unisonoric.
