I recognize that you're in the UK, but the below amazon.ca links are the exact extra heatsinks and thermal tape that I purchased:
www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B079FQ22LK
www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07BHK2Z1Y
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00EQ1ZAZ4
A couple of other notes:
- the stock goo that is applied to the memory chips does not clean off well, even with isopropyl alcohol. What worked best for me was pressing down with a piece of tape and lifting that gunk off each chip individually. You'll really want to make sure that the memory is nice and clean, or you'll run into issues with the heatsinks falling off.
- you'll have to offset the 6 memory heatsinks to the left and right a little bit, and the two on the top quite a bit, to give the Extreme IV enough clearance to make a solid contact on the core package.
Edit: If you're planning to use a flashed 5700 with linux, you'll run into issues. Even with the latest amdgpu drivers, the latest 5.3 kernel, and a fresh git clone of the navi amdgpu firmware, my linux system would just hang when loading the display manager. As soon as I reflashed back to stock firmware, everything ran fine. Because the Venn diagram of linux users with reflashed navi cards was apparently just myself, I couldn't find any troubleshooting resources, so I've just gone back to the stock non-XT firmware and rely on modded powerplay tables for overclocking in my Windows environment.
The MX500 is a great SSD (I have two), but you'll want to go with an NVMe M.2 drive for your primary boot device.
Amazon has the Sabrent Rocket 1TB for $110. It's one of the best bang for the buck PCI Express 3.0 x4 M.2 drives. Similar Phison E12 controller based drives include the $105 Inland Premium 1TB or Corsair's $125 Force MP510 1TB. These are essentially "template" drives using a common firmware, and will generally perform about the same.
Cost is identical, you gain much higher linear read/write rates, higher IOPS and (marginally) lower access latency. It's also a cleaner installation since it mounts directly to the motherboard.
Edit: Some newer drives utilize PCI Express 4.0 x4 connections to enable higher read/write transfer rates on your X570 platform. Very useful for some tasks (eg, linear video editing), but for most tasks don't offer a massive upgrade from current PCI Express 3.0 x4 drives. Add in the extra expensive (1TB starts at ~$175) and it's tough to recommend for most non power-users at this time.
Build details:
Streacom FC8 Alpha case - $190
Ryzen 5 2400G - $169
Gigabyte GA-AB350N-Wifi - $125
G.Skill 2x4GB 3200 DDR4 - $115
Mini-Box picoPSU-120-WI-25 - $60
19V 120W AC Adapter - $18
CPU power connector - $5
ATX extension - $6
So the case is WAY expensive, but options with internal passive cooling hardware aren't exactly frequent, and the build quality is great. The Motherboard did pose a little trouble, since it came with an ancient bios... But I kinda knew that might happen. I have another PC with an 1800x, so I just borrowed it for a bit to do the bios update.
With the build complete, stress testing using intelburntest on extreme does get it a little hotter than I like - quickly rises into the 60's and by the time it really plateaus it's in the low 80s. Admittedly, that's sustained stress, so probably not a concern, but I felt a little better after underclocking to 3.4 and pulling the voltage back to 1.18 max using the pstate OC options. After that, it now never breaks mid-60s under stress, and cinebench score dropped from 880 to 818 - acceptable for the particular use case. I also tested heat buildup in the 3dmark paraglider stress test, and video underclocking wasn't necessary. Underclocking will also likely help with the power limitations --- Although in both stress tests, power was a non-issue, the PSU is just 120w. One side note about psu selection: There are a lot of picoPSUs out there, but almost all of them NEED 12v from the brick, and just directly pass that 12v input to the 12 rail. That's a good solution, but 19v high-current bricks are a LOT less expensive than the 12v equivalents. Especially when you consider the possibility of replacing a brick, I think it's a better solution to get the slightly more expensive picoPSU that accepts higher input voltages (12-24 all OK). Plus, that means the 12v rail is likely better regulated than raw output from a brick.
The PC is my wife's - She just changed jobs, and her computer resides in our bedroom. She uses it for some Android development, accessing her work vm, general purpose pc (browsing, bills, you know), skype, and some light gaming. The old one was a basic build with inexpensive PSU, so when it was on it was crazy loud. Now?
Utter. Dead. Silence :) Also a LOT less space occupied. Total cost was just under $700. Case was of course a huge part of that expense.
Edit to add: forgot to mention, had a MyDigitalSSD 240g m.2 drive in hand already, so that's the drive in use here.
Hey guys,
I am trying to stream using my new laptop but am getting major frame drops making it unwatchable. I was streaming on a PS4 but got this laptop on a great deal on prime day. I thought I would be able to stream Fortnite on it, but it looks like maybe not. The game runs fine otherwise, but on the stream its choppy af and unwatchable. I posed this question to r/twitch but got no response, please let me know if this is not the appropriate sub and ill remove it and try somewhere else. I'm pretty new to the PC world of gaming so I didn't know if there was some way to upgrade this or nah.
Thanks in advanced

I got this one in my R7 1700 build and its been working charms. Good VRMs, great power delivery, Supreme FX audio and looks to top them all. Your Vengeance RAM is extensively supported (QVL) and I can also confirm it, since I'm running Vengeance LEDs @3200 in my rig.
If you can go £10 higher than your current budget, I'd strongly suggest this motherboard.
*****
Also, this review puts it up there in performance with the more expensive x370 boards https://www.bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/asus-rog-strix-b350-f-gaming-review/5/
When you say AMD kit, do you mean what came in the H100i GTX box? If that's what you're referring to, only half of what you need is in the box. What comes in the box is an AM3 mounting bracket, not back plate. A bracket looks like this. This goes on the top of the board and screws into a back plate which looks like this. If you google the two you can see more examples.
The Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero (and someone correct me if I am wrong) comes with no back plate. The CPU cooler is what has the back plate and mounting bracket.
For the H100i V2 for example now, it comes with an INTEL back plate, INTEL bracket, and AMD bracket, but no AMD back plate. What the upgrade kit is supposed to be is the AM4 back plate and bracket. But, Corsair has released no info on when or really if they plan to release an AM4 kit.
So the easiest way to get around this problem is get the VI Hero, get ANY cooler that supports AM3/AM3+ (they are the same) and get an AM3 back plate. The cooler should include at least a bracket, if you're lucky a back plate as well. Then you simply screw everything in as you normally would!
If you already had an AMD cpu, you more than likely already have an AMD back plate. Here
is the back plate I had to order to use my H100i V2 with my R7 1800X AM4 board.
Found this ViewSonic XG2401 24-inch 144Hz 1080p Gaming Display with 1ms, HDMI, DisplayPort and FreeSync for $269. It looks pretty awesome, I know its more than $200 but it is 144hz and looks good overall. After reading this post i got curious, if anyone else has any suggestions that would be awesome.
The price between 3200MHz and 3600MHz right now is about $5. There's no reason not to go with a 3600MHz 16GB kit: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V 3600MHz CL16
3200MHz is a good middle ground for price back when that video was made, but 3600MHz RAM is very cheap right now, and you will get a good boost in performance.
I came from a Xeon X5675 6c/12t @ 4.8GHz, and at those clocks it was roughly 40% faster than an i7 6700 in multithreaded benchmarks, and my 3600X is about 30% faster than my X5675 was. You will actually see a HUGE real world difference moving to Zen2 with Premiere and productivity apps.
Crossfire is essentially dead. The 5700 XT doesn't support crossfire. It does support multi-GPU, but the application has to be coded to support it. You're better off saving your money and getting a B450 board versus an X470/X570. The SLI/Crossfire tax isn't worth it, and Zen2 has no overclocking headroom, so most good B450's have plenty of VRM to see Zen2 hit it's max boost. As someone who bought an X470 board, I can say it was an unnecessary move.
Get a cheaper 1TB NVMe. You don't need gen 4 and it's nearly double the cost right now. The SX8200 PRO 1tb is on sale at Newegg, at least in the US.. But even something like this is a solid option!
For motherboards, I like the MEG ACE and VIII Hero. I opted for the Hero, personally.. All X570 boards are nice so just get the one with the feature set you like the most. The Phantom Gaming X is very nice as well! Good cheaper options include the Strix, Pro Carbon, Edge and Gigabyte Aorus boards..
RAM, I suggest you get a decent 3600MHz kit.. If you go lower I would overclock it but it looks like RAM isn't as important this time around but I wouldn't get less than 3200MHz..
Thanks for the tips, I ended up getting these in the end: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015FY3BJ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Apparently they've been specifically optimised for Ryzen but that could just be a load of marketing gibberish. I'm going to have to really do some research into these RAM timings and overclocking as it seems to have a pretty huge impact on Ryzen's performance (especially in games). How have you found the motherboard in general? Would you recommend it?
I really fell in love with this one: Link
Great price and 1440p/144Hz and a awesome freesync range from 30-144Hz
Can someone please look at this tech support post I made? I just built my PC but my ram frequency won't budge from 2133mhz even when I turn DOCP - Standard on -- even though all of the settings are saved and accepted, the frequency still reads 2133mhz:

I'm more on the "70 bucks is not worth it, the 2200g is just too good " side of the fence, and i'm glad that the prices here in germany are reflecting that. I think 50% more for SMT is totally justified.
2200g 96€
2400g 149€
Those chips are amazing.
It's really simple. There are some A320 boards that support some Ryzen 3000 series cpus. If you don't go for a high watts model, you'll be fine. 65 watts is basically "nothing" and while gaming or running normal apps, your cpu won't even eat those 65 watts. I have a 105 watts 2700X and I rarely see it using its full TDP potential. The 65 watts cpu on a A320 board will be fine. If you want to be totally sure, you could always add some small metal heat sinks on your VRMs.
https://www.amazon.com/Easycargo-Heatsink-conductive-Regulators-8-8mmx8-8mmx5mm/dp/B079FQ22LK/ref=pd_sbs_147_2/146-2136597-0131035?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B079FQ22LK&pd_rd_r=3ff33e4f-73fd-48e2-9394-b8c32cdc87e3&pd_rd_w=r92Eu&pd_rd_wg=epmer&pf_rd_p=52b7592c-2dc9-4ac6-84d4-4bda6360045e&pf_rd_r=4BTYJZBZGDFTV7A390HY&psc=1&refRID=4BTYJZBZGDFTV7A390HY
8 bucks. 9*9 mm heat sinks, perfectly for putting them on the small VRM modules.
Might wanna get some better RAM, Ryzen gaming perf has nice gains with the right memory, 3200c14-3600c16 sweet spot. The cheap b-die will get you there (tweaking will be required), or get the "fire and forget XMP" 3600c17 kits.

Problems with Ram/ Asus Strix B350/ 1600x/Gtx 1070
Just the other day I upgraded to a 1600x and Some new ram.
Everything works fine, except the ram is stuck at 1064MHz when it should be running at 2666MHz. I've tried changing the values in the Bios/ updating the bios. However, I've had zero success. Any help would be appreciated.

> Gentle Typhoons (aside from being discontinued by Scythe)
You might want to make sure you get your facts straight first, before proffering a mistaken opinion.
Scythe never made Gentle Typhoons, so it wasn't something they could "discontinue". They distributed them for a while, before choosing not to continue to do so. Gentle Typhoons are still being built and sold today, but are now distributed by the company that always made them: Nidec Servo:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nidec-Servo-GentleTyphoon-120mm-D1225C12B6ZPA-64/dp/B017UX9DRA/ref=pd_sim_107_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=YJQDRNRE27T854D2XFP9
I have one system full of NF-F12s and another full of Gentle Typhoons. The Nidec fans are quieter and perform better, as tested on the exact same hardware in the exact same environment.
Get yourself a good GPU anti-sag brace on Amazon for $13. This vertical one is about a million times better than the horizontal one I had before hand.
The max useful RAM speed on Ryzen 3000 is 3800MHz, past which the Infinity Fabric will run in asynchronous mode, increasing latency and decreasing performance.
If you don't mind doing some overclocking, getting the Crucial Ballistix Sport LT on Amazon is the best mix of value and convenience. The single rank 8GB per stick kits easily OC's to 3800MHz and is among the cheapest around. I'm not sure about the dual rank 16GB per stick ones, but I would expect similar performance. Going from 3000MHz to 3800MHz will give about 5-10% better CPU performance.
Hmmm. Well the 3500u is better than the 2200 u processor wise. It's on the newer 12 nm node:
https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Convertible-Touchscreen-Processor-Graphics/dp/B07PB5M8DS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=lenovo+ryzen+2+in+1&qid=1557083671&s=electronics&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1
The above model has a few reviews as well. The 256GB SSD is also a plus, at least vs. the 128 GB models.
It's at the upper end of your price range, but is a bit faster. Here's a quick benchmark comparison:
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-2500U-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-3500U-vs-AMD-Ryzen-3-2200U/3123vs3421vs3152

There may be some reviews of a laptop that has the 3500U somewhere on the notebookcheck site, to give you a better feel for the processor (and APU) performance.
In general, it is a great monitor, one of the cheapest 144hz 1ms 1080p monitors you can get right now if I'm not mistaken. Freesync is the only grudge I have against it, I feel like AOC did a terrible job making sure it works properly in all games, which is why mine is currently sent in for an RMA to see if anything is wrong.
The Verdict: Make sure the drivers are properly installed, then try every game you own with freesync on. If you encounter any major artifacting with it on, return it and go for the ViewSonic XG2401 if it's in your price range. If you want to be on the safe side, just simply go for the ViewSonic in the first place.
ShopBLT is legit, but note the fine print:
>This item is ordered from the manufacturer as needed. After you place your order, we will order it from the manufacturer. When it arrives into our warehouse, usually within 15 business days, we will fill your order and ship it to you.
That's also the tray SKU. You probably want the retail boxed version. However, those shipments are not expected to begin arriving to ShopBLT's warehouses until at least the end of the month.
If you want to get a 3800X before then, your best bet is to set up a notification alert on Now In Stock. However, be aware that NIS appears to be linking to the wrong Amazon product page. This is the correct one.
Alternatively, you can just buy a 3700X right now with Prime two-day shipping. It's actually so similar to the 3800X that the price premium for the latter is not easy to justify.
OP. Dump that fractal radiator fan and get a Nidec Gentle Typhoon.

Sorry, just seen this.
No backplate involved unless you mod your own.
Can be installed on regular XT as well, not sure about these new reference ones but they should work too!

Please note, the copper heatsinks will only fit the left and right sides of the vrams. The top two you will need to use the black aluminium ones or sand the copper ones down so the pump will make perfect contact with the GPU die.
I'm using this one and its pretty great: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG241QX-2560x1440-Adjustable-DisplayPort/dp/B01NCTHS6E/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=agon+1440p&qid=1555705093&s=gateway&sr=8-2

The kit you own is being misidentified as b die... it’s definitely not b die with those timings. I recommend a G Skill kit CL16 3600 or the kit I own:
G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071VRMFDQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Before I switched from 3200 CL16 I could not OC at all. Now running CL16 3600 with very tight timings at 1.4v and I could easily push it further.
> I am looking for 2x16 kits which makes things a bit complex
Indeed it does. In this case, I would highly recommend this kit, as it's not too expensive, overclocks decently and is really the best you can get for the money.
Yeah that's the SB Rocket. also taking a 2tb HDD from the old system that's going to my wife.
That's a perfectly fine i5 2500k build.
$250 budget means you can also go for this one which I read good things about.

I read that the AOC one has driver issues? Not sure if they're fixed.Install beta drivers for full freesync range.$170 ACER http://www.costco.com/Acer-XF240H-24%22-Full-HD-Monitor-with-AMD-FreeSync.product.100316061.html
This is the best deal I've seen.
Ive been saving for this Black Friday & Cyber Monday to get the ASUS ROG Crosshair 8 Hero and the AMD Ryzen 9 3900 65-watt TDP (If it ever comes out) and if it doesnt, Im gonna be forced to get the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Paired with 128-GB DDR4 RAM at 3200-MHz :)
This is the case its going into:
Thats gonna be my New Years 2020 Computer Build :)
Yea, I've got this one - does a pretty good job.
I can't imagine horizontally mounting it without the brace, it's just too much of an absolute unit.
And the much newer GT 710 is only $33.
I mean, the GT 210 isn't even DX10.1 capable...
Noctua is requiring proof of a AM4 motherboard purchase to ship out a free bracket(so you'll have to wait for March 2nd before even having the bracket being shipped out): http://noctua.at/en/noctua-offers-upgrade-kits-for-amd-s-ryzen-platform-free-of-charge
Though you can buy a AM4 bracket from Noctua right now for ~$8: https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NM-AM4-Mounting-coolers-platforms/dp/B01MTEFT52/
And they also have their most popular coolers selling with the AM4 bracket as well: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Nocuta+AM4&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3ANocuta+AM4
Idk, Noctua is being pretty fair and considerate. Not really happy with other companies right now since I was contemplating buying a NZXT AIO but if their brackets aren't coming out till Mid-March then forget about it.
Did you know Amazon will donate a portion of every purchase if you shop by going to smile.amazon.com instead? Over $50,000,000 has been raised for charity - all you need to do is change the URL!

while that person did try to help, he is a bit out of touch with ssd prices..
sata ssds haven't gone down in pricing in a meaningful way for the past year, they are still around ~110$ for 1tb and samsung likes to charge their tax on top of that too..
instead, you can get nvme ssds such as this or this for the same price..
their performance and warranty is equivalent to a samsung 970 evo, if not better.. and are miles faster than a sata ssd...
RAM: while the one you picked is 3600mhz, it's running at cl18 the memory latency will be same versus a kit running at 3200/cl16 or 3000/cl15.
get these crucial ballistix sticks instead, you can overclock them way beyond their rated speeds (Search for E-Die overclocking on the web to see approximate results) make sure they have "AES" in the model name and you're 100% guaranteed to have E-Die sticks.
CPU Cooler: while noctua is great and all , i personally think the NH-U12S is a waste of money at that price point, just use the stock cooler that comes with your ryzen cpu for a while and save those 70$ towards a noctua nh-u12a or a Noctua NH-D15 (Comes in black variant too now).
Motherboard: can't really recommend one , but instead i urge you to to look at this am4 motherboard list here they all have their own pros and cons, nothing is perfect :^)
Viewsonic XG2401 I bought two of these and they are amazing.
I would reccomend this one instead. Better build and picture quality I have read but costs on average 60$ more. I own 2 aoc monitors so if the extra cost is too much your pick is still a solid choice.
If you want to spend more time browsing monitors this site is great

Also they send you a free AM4 bracket for any approved cooler manufactured by them, but it took about 21 days to get mine. [That was Germany to the US and through customs]
I also just got a 480 and a good monitor for the price is a Viewsonic XG2401. 1080p/144 Hz. The free sync range bottoms out at 48 Hz but with a 480 that shouldn't be a problem. It is a TN panel so viewing angles aren't as good as IPS, but that really depends on your setup.
For the 3700X
I think Amazon.de had it in stock on saturday. Some people pre-ordered it using a "cached" page on Saturday. And my guess is that this action finished all the Stock. (There is a reddit discussion about these pre-orders). Amazon got probably hundreds of pre-orders confirmed with shipping this week.

Then Amazon.it (which opened a page I think on saturday or friday) ended without stock (probably they were gone through amazon.de) and today still they don't accept orders
Amazon.es today added the 3700X, they accept orders, but with 1-2 months shipping, which is crazy.

I personally got it from an Spanish Online store (that competes with Amazon in PC Hardware) for 361.9€ + 3.26€ shipping - 5€ google pay promotion. So in total 360.85€ with shipping. I ordered it yesterday ( 07/07/2019 04:50 CET) and should be delivered on Thursday. Orders from today, deliver on Friday/Monday. (PCComponentes is the store)
So I'm hope everything is fine and there are no delays.

I know for the Corsair H100i V2, you would need to either buy a back plate, or reuse one from a previous AM3 build. Not sure how it is for Noctua. They have AM4 mounting kits now so you should be good.

Dunno about OP's OC's, but based on the VRM heatsink, he has the Gigabyte ab-350m, the mATX version, same as mine (VRM heatsink is slightly different between the 2 models). I specifically have the CL16 version of the G Skill Trident Z 3200 MHz, and the XMP profile works without any tweaks at 3200. This memory in particular:

Hey I need help re: memory over clocking.
I have the gigabyte Gaming K5 with the AX370-Gaming K5 F3 bios
I also have g skill kit https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Channel-3200MHz-Trident-F4-3200C16D-16GTZB/dp/B015FY3BJ2
dimm PN F4-3200C16-8GTZB
Has anyone got to 3200 mhz on this bios with the above kit. If so can you give me your timing. I enabled the XMP profile but it wouldn't boot and returned to fail safe mode.
Edit:

At least is will be not like amazon.es with 1 ~ 2 months estimated to delivery

This is all I could find in the Amazon.co.uk site.
It will work. All you need is the solid rectangular piece that has the square cut out.
Yeah i mean if hes using it for work stuff and has the budget the 3900x is the no brainer hell you might be able to sell yours to him for a mark up😉
Edit yep people already scalping 3700x’s for $450 lol https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3700X-16-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SXMZLPK/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ryzen+3900x&qid=1563244583&s=gateway&sr=8-1
I just ordered this one today:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0JC-00A3-00001
I couldn't resist for the specs for the money, it's an insane value. I currently have this:
https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-XG2401-FreeSync-Monitor-DisplayPort/dp/B01A0ZRR50
It's.. ok. Colors are crap and viewing angles are minimum. I've become too spoiled with IPS panels. That said response times and movement are brilliant on it.
send it back then. I assume you bought it on amazon. Just send it back and go for this TridentZ (2 x 16 rgb) or this Flare X (2 x 8 no rgb).
Hehe. $8 for you, £25 for us. smh.
410€ for 3700x,
320€ for 3600x,
263€ for 3600...
WTF Amazon?
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.amazon.de/AMD-Ryzen-3700x-Cache-Wraith/dp/B07SXMZLPK
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.amazon.de/AMD-Ryzen-3600x-Cache-Wraith/dp/B07SQBFN2D
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://www.amazon.de/AMD-Ryzen-3600-Cache-Wraith/dp/B07STGGQ18
that is bullshit, there is no valid vendor listed on amazon. No 3k series CPU is available from amazon.de. The one marketplace shop that is listing it for 734 is just a fake/scalping shop. no one would seriously order it from there.
go to https://geizhals.de/?cat=cpuamdam4&xf=6773_2019%2FQ2%7E6773_2019%2FQ3%7E820_AM4
if you want a better price overview
Here's some monitors:
viewsonic xg2401 144hz,1ms gtg response time, 27ms input lag, freesync, currently $294.86 but i've seen it at $249.99
ASUS VG248QE144hz, 1ms gtg response time, 13ms input lag, no adaptive sync, $229.99
BenQXL2411Z 144hz, 1ms gtg response time, 10ms input lag,no adaptive sync, $268.99
Nixeus vue24144hz, 1ms gtg response time, 29ms input lag, $234.99/$249.99 ergonomic stand.
all monitors are 1920x1080(fullhd)
on the matter of freesync, if you can stand screen tear then you don't need it but i can't so i do.
also dont shop by brand, shop by the quality of the product and by the warranty provided.
