We lost our cat before he was 2, but he still nursed on anything he felt suitable. We found a yoga ball in the woods behind our house, it looked just like this, with the bumps on it. He'd sit and nurse on that thing all the time, it was hilarious.

There's a great documentary on Amazon Prime, called: Great White Shark: Beyond the Cage of Fear.

It's about a GW named Bruce, and its interactions with a team of researchers, and ultimately with professional mermaid/free diver, and ocean ecology activist, Hannah Fraser.

After you watch it, you'll want a Bruce in your life.

It’s like training. You have to stop then in the act.

A water spray bottle works. I found this works really well. It scares them into stopping, and also releases a pheromone in the area that then calms them. Eventually they’ll claw less and less to the point it isn’t too big a problem. Just give them adequate scratching posts/boards. Feliway diffusers also help in calming the cat and reducing scratching.

If you're interested in domestication, there's a really good book titled "How to tame a fox (and build a dog)." It tells the story of the Russian fox experiment on domestication. It is more of a popular science book than a detailed reference work, but it gets the job done and one of the coauthors is the lead researcher who has overseen the experiment for ~60 years. https://www.amazon.com/How-Tame-Fox-Build-Dog/dp/022659971X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=how+to+tame+a+fox+and+build+a+dog&qid=1573144473&sprefix=how+to+tame&sr=8-1

Non Violent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg

A technical guide to what empathy is, how to give it, and how to ask for it.

Bonus: Never Split The Difference is a great follow up book on Tactical Empathy, a compelling argument for the necessity of empathy to survive. Literally.

Well I originally wrote The Twisting Door as a screenplay but I've converted it to a novella and an audiobook in a style I call spoken screenplay. Thanks for the interest!

It's an unprovable hypothesis in anthropology that our historical ideas about dwarves and elves and witches have a basis in our disabled ancestors. Those who have Williams Beuren have the classic fey characteristics of elves, those with Down's Syndrome could be dwarves and goblins, and the paranoid and delusional and schizophrenic could be witches or those possessed by spirits.

In my story I take it one step farther. In the 10th century walled city of Cennomanis (current day Le Mans, France) citizens could be cast out to die of exposure for a variety of reasons. I imagine a hidden society of outcasts who have learned to live beyond the walls.

The theme I explore that I think rings strongly of truth is that these outcasts were worthless devils in the eyes of the city dwellers and nothing more. But the outcasts themselves constructed an entire mythos of who they were and how they were different and what made them special. It is my contention that all that we know of elves and fairies, dwarves and goblins, and magic of all kinds originate with our outcast disabled communities granting power to themselves.

It's meant to be produced in a Herzog-style summer in a French forest with a cast of disabled actors and a lot of green screens. A production team in Germany are looking at it now but I'm still spreading the word.

My uncle is the author of the book “A wolf called Romeo” who lived in Alaska and they would have their dogs play with Romeo all the time. Check out his book if you guys want to here the full story behind him: A Wolf Called Romeo https://www.amazon.com/dp/054422809X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ggFXBbSBKVPK4

Actually, Romeo was named by Nick Jans' wife, Sherrie. Romeo would show up at their house often wanting to play with their dog, the yellow lab on the picture you posted. When Romeo would show up Sherrie would state, oh there's that Romeo again.. it stuck and spread throughout the community. I'm not a huge fan of Nick Jans, but his book A Wolf Called Romeo is worth the read.

The sequel is the blessing of the animals. The story is amazing. The man that adopted her was in an industrial accident and she kind of rescued him too.

I'm not advocating such silliness, but here's an example: http://amzn.com/B003Z5GW0O

Actually, I can. I was a veterinary assistant and can tell you the beagle is trying to clean the boxers ears. This could be because the boxer really needs an ear cleaning (especially if it's one ear more than the other), and if so the saliva can actually cause an even worse infection than the beagle already smells.. OR the beagle is showing it's submissiveness. Either way saliva is bad for this dog's inner and they need to be cleaned every 2 weeks to counteract the saliva. Just please don't use the rubbing alcohol+ water mix lots of people say to use, that definitely causes some problems. This one is the best, in my opinion. No fragrance, not a medication, and you can just squirt it on a couple of q-tips and wiggle it around in the ear to see if there's anything in there. A little is fine, but lots of gunk= vet visit asap for deep cleaning so the infection doesn't spread to the brain.

My dudes, you need to read City by Clifford Simak.
