So glad they are having To Your Eternity Vol 3 as a part of this deal - I got Vol 1 when they had it for Manga Mondays and I'm so glad I picked it up. Its a really great story - definitely a melancholic note to it though. Vol 1 is on Amazon for $8.50, Vol 2 is more or less full price: https://www.amazon.com/Your-Eternity-1-Yoshitoki-Oima/dp/1632365715/

Going to take the dive on A Polar Bear in Love Vol 2. Reviews on Amazon say Vol 1 is a rather quirky story - not what you would expect from the cover. Also, Vol 1 is on Amazon for only $8.87 if you want to take the full plunge (pun intended!): https://www.amazon.com/Polar-Bear-Love-Vol-Shirokuma/dp/0316441716/

Well this is 4 months late but just so you know for the future you can post direct links to manga volumes from the amazon store on /r/manga but it just cannot have a referral link in the URL.

For amazon the referral links are usually at the end and are something like

ref=sr_X2_5?ie=UXX8&qid=224XX031590

So a linking to volumes on Amazon is allowed the link just needs to be something like

http://www.amazon.com/World-Trigger-Vol-Daisuke-Ashihara/dp/142157764X

You could also shorten it even more to

http://www.amazon.com/dp/142157764X

They don't usually get posted there unless there is a really good sale or something is available for preorder.

FUNimation's exclusive is less expensive than the Amazon exclusive ($89.98), but they do have different bonus items. It's worth comparing the two in case someone wants the art books that come with the Amazon edition:

> Limited Edition clamshell art box

> 140 page black and white art book featuring early concept sketches and designs that highlight Cowboy Bebop’s origins.

> 48 page vibrant, full-color art book

Yea, Aniplex USA is the daughter company to Aniplex JP, so their prices are always super high. And I can guarantee it won’t be going on sale for any cheaper than that for the next several years.

Your best bet would be to buy the UK blu ray set and getting an all-region player. Those discs are region coded for Europe and won’t play on an American one.

I've been a collector of anime for a number of years and I can say with a fair degree of confidence that /u/gregz83 , while probably answering with good intentions, is providing information that seems inaccurate to me.

The truthful answer to your question is we don't know. Most probably, Crunchyroll will continue with its original intention to release anime in the United States on blu-ray/dvd independently. See 5 centimeters per second for an example of one of their earlier DVD releases from prior to the partnership.

I'd imagine that your suspicion is correct, and that the blu-ray titles released as part of the Funi-Crunchyroll agreement will run out of print at some point in time, but there's no telling the timeframe for that process to start happening without a first party source telling us. I agree with /u/RejectedShadow that if there is a show you especially like to try and pick it up earlier than later, because as we saw with The Woman Named Fujiko Mine the license can expire and the physical copies go out of stock in a very quick manner and without warning.

I bet the larger episode count shows will give you the best cost-per-episode.

Slayers is a good one. 78 episodes for $35, that's 45 cents per episode. Although there are times it is cheaper than this.

Amazon uk has the full set for under 50 bucks usd with shipment accounted for. So yeah, unless you have the money to spare i'd rather get a uk blu ray player.
