You are mistaken.
I was able to use a second controller logged as a different user, on my machine. I used the vita to launch the game, then my ps4 controller (Logged In as Player 2) worked normally.

It's technically a hybrid SSD, but my buddy installed one on his base PS4 and it worked wonders. Black ops 4 was loading 15-20 seconds faster than my Pro. My wife got it for me for Valentine's day, but I haven't installed it yet.

I know this shouldn't be a solution but a 120 GB SSD is 20$ USD.
4TB hard drive: $70
4TB NVMe SSD: $2900
NVMe really isn't necessary for gaming, a SATAIII SSD is fast enough, but still about 10x the cost per GB of a spinning disk.

Anthem is the first to push my system to 100% over 8 cores and GPU.
it's the same performance because of the SSD controller but you could place it in a m.2 mobo (although same speed) when you upgrade. the NVMe (or similar) is the fastest m.2. at least that's from my very limited understanding.
I'm looking at this one which can use 4 m.2's. not that'd I'd use them all but it's only a few more than the single slot version. note the Not compatible with M.2 NVMe in the description.

And when you use the DS4 as Player 2, do you need to constantly touch the vita for the brightness?
I'm not sure why I should have to waste my limited recreational time waiting on a random chepaskate I don't know that won't pick me up of I go down or do the objective properly.
