Okay, first don't get a hand blender for smoothies. And probably not for sauces either. Do you have a regular blender? If you don't start with that.

If for some reason you really want an electric whisk, look at something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Kitchen-KHM7210CU-7-Speed-Contour-Silver/dp/B00C0QJY40/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1538275358&sr=1-4&keywords=kitchenaid+hand+mixer

But if you really, really want a hand blender, definitely get the Braun of those two.

Also realize that immersion blenders can be very dangerous: https://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/16/dining/immersion-blenders-can-be-a-danger-in-disguise.html

I gave mine to Goodwill, because I never used it, and I was worried about a guest accidentally cutting themselves.

> I might try and borrow and IR camera to see how hot the bottom of the stove is getting.

You can get one of these fairly inexpensive IR thermometer guns to check that out. They work surprisingly well and are handy to have around. https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Lasergrip-774-Non-contact-Thermometer/dp/B00837ZGRY

Just leave it open. If it's in a small closet like mine use one of these things.

I'm going to insist that plugs don't just fall out of outlets due to vibration, but you seem to have made up your mind on that one so it is what it is.

EDIT: Try dis: https://www.amazon.com/LOCK-PLUG-electrical-extension-appliances/dp/B06WW61RRC

Pure Air is a brand I have dealt with for other products. They make quality products.

Is indoor venting out if the question? Like this?

Unfortunately there's not too many options out there.

Black and Decker sells an under the cabinet toaster oven that may save you some space. Pretty slick looking too. I'm surprised these aren't commonplace from other manufacturers.

Some people have been successful at creating their own wall enclosures for a "built in" style, but I cannot recommend this due the obvious fire hazard.

Other that that, I think you're stuck with a double oven.

Had the same problem. Installed an air gap. Due to the location I couldn't get the loop high enough. I bought https://www.amazon.com/Design-House-522946-Dishwasher-Polished/dp/B007CW1B8O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473036838&sr=8-2&keywords=dishwasher+air+gap from amazon for $10 and it solved my problem. To get rid of the smell I ran a rinse load with 1/2 cup of bleach.

Not to sure what could be causing it. Probaby won't get to far trying to figure out what it is unless you tear it apart and you know what you are looking for.

Haier is an option it is inexpensive as fuck.

I'm not a big fan of Haier or Danby or Avanti but those are the ones that will be around your Price Range. Frigidaire makes a 1.7 that is going for 250~ right now.

I would go back to the college and remind them of the ADA. (if your in the US) You need the insulin to survive. Remind them that keeping needles and rx drugs in a common location is a massive health violation, safety issue and just a relllly bad idea.

That being said, you can get a mini USB fridge for a few bucks.

here's a quick amazon search Their designed to hold a 6pack of soda. Should be enough room.
