It's Nice To Be An Otter

What A Wonderful World

That's Not My Monkey

Monster Parade

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Chicka Chicka ABC

Rainbow Fish

All are board books except Monster Parade and I couldn't find the board book link for Rainbow Fish but that's what we have. His favorites are the top 4 I listed. I've been reading those to him since he was a newborn and loves the pictures. He smiles and giggles at the otters (my fave animal!) and lights up when we get to "the colors of the rainbow" in What A Wonderful World, which is a very special song for my mom and me so it's pretty amazing to pass that onto my son.

So the pack and play has the folded "mattress" portion and we just threw that in the bassinet attachment. We then put puppy pads down (for diaper explosions) and a fitted sheet. There are specific fitted sheets that are for pack and plays- we went with this one It is cheap, and was a super snug fit on the mattress, which was what we wanted.

It is flatter/harder than the regular crib mattress. Kiddo slept better once we put her in the crib. Partially because she's a SUPER light sleeper (to this day) and us rolling over would wake her up. I think the other part, though, was that she was just more comfortable in the crib. It's softer. If a 'firm surface' is what you're looking for for safety, pack and play has it on lockdown.

I have that exact stroller and we used it when my baby was about 10 weeks old when we traveled to BC for 10 days. It actually works really well. It lays flat for when they sleep so that's nice. The only cons to it are 1: they can't see you and you can't see them so you're not sure what they're doing and if they're happy and 2: it's a lot easier with a big stroller to protect them from the sun. I used a muslin blanket and tied it to the stroller to use as a sun shield, and just kind of made sure that I was checking on him from time to time.

I just loosened all the straps really well so that they weren't really tight on him because they don't go across the right spots anyway and he seemed fine. I would definitely recommend i

Edit: with that being said I was just looking at amazon and for a bit more you could get https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00OZJ6MQI/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i5?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00OZJ6MQI&pd_rd_r=Z9M4TH3R3DE3S468X991&pd_rd_w=67XOz&pd_rd_wg=5iAiK&pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=SWT85DKC2NPSVEP9Y00A&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=04ba9dff-ad6f-4c0e-9daf-7ccc545ca71b&pf_rd_i=desktop
and it might help with those two cons that I had mentioned

This is a copy/paste from another thread about monitors:

We have a wifi home security camera (it's a Foscam, I will try to add the link on mobile) from Amazon that can be viewed on any mobile device with the app or from a web browser. I got it when my dog was a puppy so I could check on her from work. You can rotate the camera something like 270 degrees, it has two way audio (have to trigger to talk through it) and infrared for nighttime viewing. You can also snap screenshots or record video, and set it up to start recording if there's motion. I think it was like $70?

You have to log in with two passwords and it's not accessible outside our home wifi so my Army husband feels confident in the security. He may change it when we goes back to work from paternity leave so he can spy on baby from work, but we'll see.

We plan to mostly use an old iPhone with a docking station to view with, but i can use my phone, bigger iPad, or bigger still laptop screen if I want.

Edit: here's the new version of what we have!

Hooray, congrats!

It can be super painful at first! 4-6 weeks was about when I finally experienced that breakthrough moment with my oldest, and I'm so not looking forward to doing it all over again!

A nurse in my Mother's Group suggested hyrdogel pads to help your nips feel better in between feedings- they really, really helped me:

We're doing a co-ed shower this weekend. Booze will be included. I know there will be a few games, but have no idea what they'll be. We're having it at our house so I don't have to worry about going anywhere or carting things home. We keep the house pretty clean in general, so we don't have to do much cleaning before. Cleaning afterwards shouldn't be too bad either, because how crazy can a baby shower get? I'm wearing this with a flowery sash thing (I also wore it for my maternity photos, and LOVE IT).

They have sales on open boxes. Right now this is what they have https://www.lillebaby.com/sale

Amazon has sales occasionally in the range of $90, but right now https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q3I25NI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_m33RybHX22XQH is the least expensive.

It is certainly true that you have to be willin to settle for plain colors usually. But i prefer it. Works with more clothing options and for the SO to wear as well without worrying about being seen with certain patterns.

u/snickertwinkle · 2 pointsr/April2017Bumpers

We have this one, and like it a lot. When it’s closed, she can stand on it like a stool (or sit and watch Elmo while I shower) and you can also take the potty seat off and put it on the big potty. It’s easy to clean. Totally recommend.

I found some simple maternity undies on Amazon here. They're nothing fancy, but they stay below the bump and fit pretty well.

These have been the most comfortable bras I've bought so far. They have a bit of an obvious seam so they don't look great under tight tops, but otherwise are great.

Our pitt pulled at the leash too, she loved to investigate every little thing and go at her own (sporatic) pace, but a halti collar trained her out of it, since nothing else would. Gotta love 'em, though!

STM here. I read a lot of the Bradley Method.

And then I didn't and wouldn't go into labor naturally... Lol.

Any book that teaches you methods of relaxation and acceptance of the pain with your partner (if you have one) is good. Try to focus the contractions into progress instead of just dealing with pain and waiting for it to be over. Easier said than done when transition hits I hear. I had an epidural by then.

I will agree with the Ina May Gaskin suggestion as a way to hear stories about thinking of birth as a natural life event and read the stories to help you, but in the end, you have no idea what is going to happen!

The Bradley book has a lot of diagrams. Diagrams are cool.

I've been drinking beer a few times a week. I have found that I need to be most cautious of staying hydrated more than anything. I've been unknowingly dehydrated and my boobs completely "deflated" halfway into a nursing session.
If you want reassurance about the safety of your milk, you can buy alcohol test strips on Amazon to give you peace of mind.

I've been wearing bras like these for a couple years now and they have transitioned well into pregnancy with all the boob growth. They feel like the bra part of a camisole with a bra shelf. Actually more comfortable, since bra camisoles rely on one tight elastic at the bottom, whereas these are a comfy stretch throughout.

I probably go through 3 a year (and tbh they get pretty stretched out and ratty at the end) but for the price it's still way cheaper than normal bras.

Yes! And for my fellow tall ladies, you can buy BIG yoga balls that allow you to sit up properly. I bought the 75cm one and it has been solid: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00DG9KIE0. If I bought again I would have bought a slightly smaller one (65cm; I'm 6' tall).
