ERMAGERD. I'm moving to a place with much more room and storage space and I'm so excited. But I can't figure out exactly how I want to store it all.

My long-suffering partner has been promised that with our new space, I will improve my messy habits. I need to anyway and having a clean partner should really be more motivation/pressure but I am a little shit. Anyway- here's my preliminary thoughtsketch:

  • Master bath has shower, lots of counterspace, and under-sink cabinet

    > Share bathroom with bf, he would LOVE for there to be nothing on the countertop besides a cleanser and hygiene essentials. I'd like to do that for him.

    > Will likely limit myself to basic hygiene (deodorant, oral care, cleanser)- basically if my bf doesn't have a version of his own, I won't have it there. I'm such a cluttery person and don't mind it as much, but it would be lovely for him to have a clean counter for the first time since we moved in together 3 years ago.

  • Secondary bath has medicine cabinet, some countertop space, and plenty of under-sink cabinet space (also tub)

    > I plan to use this as my spa-space (bubble baths etc) so originally had thought put ALL THE SKINCARE in here but then bf pointed out it will function as a guest bathroom, which means it shouldn't necessarily be a free-for-all.

    > In addition I've never been so ambitious and neat but most people do say keeping non-cleanser skincare OUT of the bathroom can be good for longevity (less heat and moisture)

    > Then again the medicine cabinet appeals as it's hidden but seems easy to store things and more compelling than putting crap under the sink every time I take it out.

  • Hobby room (2nd bedroom) is promised to me as "hobby space" and I feel like this will be the place I setup for photography/DIY/makeup application, so perhaps I should just have a skincare "station" in here.

    > Benefits would be large area- not a shared space

    > No moisture/heat issues here

    > Next to all my other beauty crap

    > Large closet means I can keep a bin for non-daily use products, backups, etc.

    > Could get one of these bad boys and wheel it to the bathroom if I want to do my routine in there for some reason.

I'm that idiot who loves planning organization but isn't very good at maintaining it. So I don't want to go hog wild with buying organizational supplies and then be my usual self and leave crap in bags and boxes everywhere. Tips for moving house and setting up a new storage/display system? Especially if you keep majority of your skincare in a non-bathroom environment?

Thayers is awsome and idk what it does or how it works. I decanted s&p Into a sprayer and have been not only using it after I wash my face (put some on a baby washcloth) but after my routine I spray some on and then lock it in with cera ve ointment.

I also have been using it throughout the day. I decided I am keeping a skincare journal and I am stopping all toners (1000 roses, rose+glycerin toner, Mario badescu rose water toner, pacifica rose flowers toner ) and using them one at a time until I finish them all. I will use them like I stated above, and throughout the day as a refresher mist. I can’t wait to use that rose flowers one bc the ingredients look awsome but it just looks like a good moisturizing toner.

Thayers alcohol free/frag free just somehow drains the redness out of my face. I have very very oily, Retin a 1% irritated skin. So if it can combat that redness it must be doing something. When I introduced cera ve pm is when I noticed a significant difference though. I can’t wait to finish these and go back to thayers.

I truly believe these are my personal hg

I went with the Dr. Althea Power Whitening Glutathione Mask. It's not a favorite, but it is due to expire in March (thank you for making me look). It is a hydrogel, fits great, feels lovely on mah face in the winter, but the waste involved in this is awful. There is the outer foil package and two plastic sheets per half of the hydrogel that are not recyclable. The eco guilt involved will keep me from repurchasing these. It does brighten and tighten my skin. Effects last for a few days. I do need to lay down to keep this on bc it wants nothing more than to slide off and run away.

Edit: I have 1 more of these left

oh, sure!

How to Be Yourself: Quiet Your Inner Critic and Rise Above Social Anxiety Hardcover by Ellen Hendriksen

someone in r/CBT recommended it a while ago. it's a nice mix of studies about anxiety and practical things you can try for yourself. the writing style is pretty lighthearted too so it doesn't get dry/boring.

I wish I could combat my mom's insanity with ridiculousness. She's old world, so I have to be very careful about sarcasm (which is not in the culture). She does laugh about how her kids basically parent her, so sometimes she will call us "mom" 🙄

I actually did a purge of dingy and old socks recently! I really needed new winter socks (and commuting is so much nicer when your feet are warm) so bought a few pairs of Smartwool and also some cat ones off amazon. They look so horribly crazy cat lady, but they are hilarious.

Today I received the Sana Keana Pate Shokunin Pore Putty BB Pact SPF40 PA+++ and was so disappointed! I wanted a compact powder with SPF and ordered a balm, all because I didn't read the description. First work problems am I right? 😅

I don't know where you're located, but they sell it online at quite a few places.

What I usually do is go to either Walgreens or Target and order it in stores and get it shipped there so as to avoid the shipping charge.
