Yes I have taken Zyrtec daily for the last 15+ years. Started with actual Zyrtec, then switched to generic Allertec from Costo about 6 years ago and then switched to generic GoodSense about a year ago: https://smile.amazon.com/GoodSense-Allergy-Cetirizine-Tablets-Count/dp/B00G9E1GYA/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=zyrtec&qid=1557496795&s=gateway&sr=8-8&th=1

I have not tried wiping cat down with a damp washcloth. Is this something I should do daily?

I have this, and I really like it. I haven't noticed any air blockage, and it has to be 30 F or colder to start fogging up my glasses at all.

I had this one for years before I moved

Surround Air Multi Tech XJ-3000C Air Purifier with HEPA/Carbon/Pre-Filter and Germicidal UV lamp https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HVRIAC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ugMSCbQ7GAMP1

It seemed to help because I was living with a smoker at the time.

I currently have this in my bedroom. Coway AP-1512HH Mighty Air Purifier, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01728NLRG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zxXACb71FJM9P

And am considering getting one of their larger versions for the living room/dining room/kitchen area. I am amazed at the amount of stuff that ends up on the filter. I had a Honeywell/Kaz version for years. The coway is a much better unit. I think for me air filters are essentially during wildfire season, but I run it all year long. I don't think I would expect to notice a huge difference in your day to day symptoms but I believe that it prevents bad days from being worse. I think winx makes good units as well just depends on the size of your space and filter replacement costs. Also consider if it has an ionizer/ozone function that you can turn off. It is the general belief that this is not a good feature to have running in a space that you are currently occupying. (Good for odor control when you are not home)

I couldn't find much either. Found this patch though: I HAVE ASTHMA Medical Alert Symbol 2.5 inch Sew-on Patch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004OQ0GVE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NQH3CbN14MXT6

Also on Amazon there's a nebulizer carrying case you can pick up for 20 bucks. Has enough storage for the nebulizer and meds and hoses and stuff. I don't leave home without mine even thought my asthma is fairly under control you never know.

I have a cheap one similar to what my doc uses and it matches what his shows. It was less than $20 on Amazon.

I’ve had everything from a $20 air purifier to $1,200.

This is my favorite

GermGuardian AC4100 3-in-1 Desktop Air Purifier, HEPA Filter, UVC Sanitizer, Home Air Cleaner Traps Allergens for Smoke, Odors, Mold, Dust, Germs, Smokers, Pet Dander, Germ Guardian Room Air Purifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G7VNO86/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kL-UCbJB7QBC9

They do work. I do not recommend the expensive ones unless you’re extremely ill.

u/citizengerm · 1 pointr/Asthma

This is the closest I can find. Not sure if it’s exactly what your looking for. But not sure what your actually looking for is a thing yet.

Runner's belt. I also use it when I have no pockets in my skirt or pants and am going to be any distance from my purse.

Yes, by allergy shots I mean immunotherapy. On the allergy tests, dust mites are my really big one. I think certain animals will trigger allergies more than others. I have 3 dogs in my house right now (dogsitting for my parents). My little one doesn't cause me allergies, but the two big ones are awful.

Yes it's really cold in winter. We got our first snow last night. My asthma also gets worse when it is cold outside. I think it's from running the furnace, and not opening the windows for fresh air. Your skin gets dry, and that dead skin is food for dust mites. Running a humidifier is helpful, or taking a hot bath with eucalyptus scented bubbles can help too.

When you're in that state you panic you need to try to calm down - breathe slowly, in through your nose (if you can) and out throught your mouth. I usually close my eyes. Get into the best spot in your house - for me it's the bathroom, it's cool in there and there isn't any fabric to hold dust or dander. I even tell myself in my head, "You're okay, just breathe slowly.." I also will use more of my rescure inhaler than the instructions say, if it's not helping. When I go to the hospital for an attack they put a mask on me that is a mix of oxygen and ventolin, and there's so much it makes a cloud around me. If the two puffs on the instructions don't help, I'll take two more, and 5 minutes later, two more. But if you're freaking out that might not be a good idea for you.
