I had a clicker for a little while, but then I lost it and never replaced it. She picks up on things so quickly, it doesn't seem to matter how I reward her.

I mostly use these small treats as rewards, you can find them EVERYWHERE. They are a great size, large bag, and high reward value.

I found this book really helpful.

And the ACDRA has some good breed specific information.

Good luck! ACD puppies are intense but super receptive to training. It will be a fun for you and your dog :)

I went through the same thing with mine at about 9 months where he would get super aggressive of a dog that was within a few feet of my personal bubble. I worked on it with giving him a lot of treats when other dogs came over to say hi, and kept a "pet corrector" around for times at the dog park. He completely cut out that behavior until just recently (4 months later now) where he did it with a friend's dog while on a camping trip. I thought it was due to his exhaustion, but it could be a combination of adolescence, mood swings, hunger, tiredness... All I can say is try to meet with your friend again and show her that everyone's a friend, give treats when she does well, and I definitely recommend the Pet Corrector

My pup LOOOVES Gorilla Chews and they last him a super long time. Also when it's hot out, I like to put things inside his Kong, like peanut butter, and then freeze them. And then he has a peanut butter popsicle that lasts him for a few hours. (Pro-tip: I like freezing peanut butter the best because when it warms up and unfreezes, it's not going to get all over my carpet or anything.)

My dog went through some really basic obedience classes when he was a pup, and I think it was really helpful that we put a lot of work into getting him used to walking next to us while on his leash. Honestly, he took right to the bike lead; I took him around town slowly the first few times, and that was about it. I think he knows that the bike = running, so he cooperates. Honestly the most difficult part is when he's over-excited and tries to herd my bike by nipping at my front tire.

As far as the leads, in my judgement it's best to have a lead that attaches to a mid to low section of your bike. My bike is pretty tall so I went with the Petego Spring Lead Universal Bicycle Leash and attached it to the lower section of my seat tube (below the top tube); whereas my wife went with the Walky Dog which she attaches to the rear axle of her bike. I will say that the Walky Dog is kind of nice because you can pop the lead right off the bike and use it like a leash, though if you're running two dogs the Petgo attachment has two attachment points.

Sorry that's not a lot of info, but if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to answer.

This is GREAT and keeps him busy for a bit:

These are great for training:

I feed mine 1 cup x2 per day of this food. There are pretty clear directions on how much to feed based on weight / goal weight. Mine is on the bigger side but still in excellent shape at 50lbs.

They're made for doggies, but sure, I don't see why a human couldn't enjoy it!

We originally got it because he was shedding a ton AND throwing up during car rides. Turns out, he was just blowing his winter coat and now sheds next to nothing. The vomiting was from Giardia & Hookworm. No more crazy shedding or vomiting, but I'm happy to keep my car safe and he certainly likes laying on it and watching us drive when he's too pooped to even stand. Sometimes he'll put his paw over it, and I feel like his personal chauffeur... which I guess I am.

I'm using the New Earth Comfort Harness. It's not my favorite, but it fit him and I needed a harness. I liked his old one that he grew out of much better, which was this one

It's not for chewing or inside play, but you could look into getting a Jolly Ball (6" or above). Dakota LOVES his, he herds it around the back yard like a madman.

It is a Pettom Pet Vest.
It has been great for Barley. He loves getting into it, because he knows he is going for a walk, a run or a ride in the car. It does not fully control his pulling, but it makes it easier for me to direct him, especially when we go running together. And the handle at the top is nice for when I need to stop him from jumping on people to say hi.

Baskerville Ultra Muzzle, Tan, Size 3 - I use this one on my girl when I need to muzzle her. Doesn’t really stop her from drinking or whatever, eating I don’t think would be easy but not impossible if you hand it to them. Compared with other muzzles they adjust pretty fast, too.

Mine has issues with small children and some other dogs (doesn’t seem to be a pattern in size/gender/neutering). She routinely tries to eat our neighbor’s kid which sucks because the little girl really loves dogs. We’re working on it but it’s not been fun.

I use this in the rear of my 4Runner. Not this exact one. But it’s but this hammock style. The one I got was from petco and cost about $60. I’ve had it a year and it’s held up really well. Waterproof, machine washable etc

I’d recommend this hammock style
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07546Y6TB/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1523637118&sr=8-8&keywords=dog+car+hammock+seat+cover&dpPl=1&dpID=41j7KySDBxL&ref=plSrch

In conjunction with the hammock style cover. Get these seat belts. They will hook to your existing harnesses and clip right into your car seat buckles. No additional fuss required. Super simple. You can tighten or loosen the slack depending on how much movement you want to give the dog.

I know these exact seat Belts work because I had the unfortunate pleasure of having them tested. A guy ran a red light and hit the front side of my 4Runner at 55mph. The hammock style cover and having him seat belted with those belts in harness kept him completely uninjured! He was scared and shaken up. But completely healthy. No sprang, cuts, bruises etc.

Hope this helps.

You are very welcome. My ACD occasionally likes to bury stuff like that too, especially rawhide. But he spends lots and lots of time with his horn and hooves (which are cheap - I always have a few on hand in the yard and replace them with fresh ones every week or two). It took him a few days to get the hang of the tug-a-jug but since then he works that thing until he get the last piece of kibble every single time. Other toys he spends tons of time with are his bunny and his raccoon. I'm sure he would recommend them wholeheartedly. If you have a classic Kong, you can fill it with peanut butter and freeze it. That'll keep most dogs busy for a while (start with a few pieces of kibble in the tip before stuffing, otherwise a dog may go crazy trying to get the last bit of inaccessible peanut butter). Especially early on, I would leave a big variety of toys and lots of them. You may also want to check out /r/Dogtraining and see if you can pick up some more tips there.

Great idea! We have one and love being able to check in on our girl. If you’re looking for a relatively cheap option this is the one we have... I don’t think it’s the nicest you could get but it gets the job done and it does have two way audio.

I have a variety of treat balls that keep my heeler busy and last quite a while. This Starmark ball is one of his favorites. It provides a challenge if you find some chewy treats (anything not hard and crumbly, like dog jerky) to stuff in there.

Bullymake box is a subscription box made for power chewers, there's some good durable stuff in there. Or you can buy their toys individually here.

Be careful with muzzles. They can be very constricting and harmful to the dog.

Patricia McConnell's books are really pretty great (short, to the point, reward-based). Here's one that may be what you're looking for.

Kurgo Baxter Dog Backpack, Dog... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VTTD580?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It fit and worked great on him. However I wish the pack portions were removable so that he could have a day hike harness while on site. There are other modular packs out there for similar price.
