I bought reflective insulation (like this) at homedepot and taped two 25 foot long pieces together. Between runs I just wrap the whole car like so. It's extremely effective as it recycles heat from the brakes and engine into warming up the tires. Too late now, but may have been able to buy some tonight.

I went with a pair of these:

Etymotic ER20

I'll test them out beforehand. I've needed sound protection for various environments anyway, if they aren't useful for this I'm sure they'll be useful for something else.

Going to try this and run it through the cabin and use painter's tape to put it on my rear bumper above (or beside) my exhaust. It's cheap so I'm not expecting professional quality but it will be a big improvement both by reducing wind noise and picking up the exhaust note.

Would any of these work. I was looking more for a full helmet.

This book has some advice for complete beginners who have never autocrossed.

Some of the advice might be a little dated. I think he talks about car classing, which changes regularly.

I'd probably just go try it once before I started researching a ton.

This book had the most profound effect on road racing and autocross of anything I've ever purchased.

I've never found issue with my Hero+ LCD that's $150 on amazon with a cheap suction cup mount. I've had it suction cupped to a motorcycle going a lot faster than cars at an autocross event go with no problems.

And at that price, you could probably get 1 for each side if wanted. Lol.

I think it is the baked in image stabilization. It does look weird now that I look at it!

It is a garmin Virb on a Fat Gecko mount suctioned onto the moon roof glass.

I use the Panavise suction cup mounts with my FlipHD camera occasionally.

I've never worried about it falling off. I've attached it to the sunroof, the actual roof, the windshield, the front fender, and the back hatch of my WRX and had no problems. I've used it at highway speeds and while racing with the SCCA.

If you can find something similar to hold the Nexus securely I think it should work. Depending on your car though, there may be a bunch of vibrations on the sunroof glass that could distort your video.

My region uses something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Baseball-Softball-semi-pneumatic-quality-warranty/dp/B01IQDLIQC/

It's a bit expensive, yes, but it has a closed top to keep the rain out, because holy hell is it not fun to deal with a solid brick of chalk / flour / whatever stuck in it. Also, try to find stuff that discourages weed / grass growth because you don't want things growing in the pavement cracks. I'm not so sure what is recommended for this, but I know it exists.
