I generally know about Danskin only, because I prefer the elongated leg opening and the long-lasting nylon, so I generally snap up the last of the past season stock (which is generally in my size, P) that Amazon will sell for $5 or so, but they don't seem to be trying to dump items now.

This one does sometimes go on sale for $5. It's the only strappy leo that works on me, and I have multiples of it, though it's a bit too sexy to wear by itself (it's very supportive, but has a pushup effect as a result).

EDIT: It's you're ok with cotton, here's a $5 one. Here's an $8 one. If you don't fear headlights, here's a $6 one.

A friend of mine and I did a ballet shoot with a mutual friend once and that was our inspiration photo! It’s such a gorgeous photo.

This is the skirt we ended up purchasing (let me see if I can find a pic from the shoot, too): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01828SYTA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_RkfHZFh6MDohh

You can also get an insert called a [metatarsal pad] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008DW1DJE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lODACb11TB9AF) for your regular (not ballet) shoes that can relieve some of the pressure on it. The pain lasted a while for me, but is now gone. Hope you can find some relief!

I have very sweaty feet and struggled with this with canvas, too. I found leather was much better for me.
That said, I have used this cream for my sweatiness that you can buy from Amazon and it works pretty well (and is immediate--you don't have to keep applying it regularly to have it work). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010BVZ1VU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There's something about ABT's 1969 production with Erik Bruhn and Carla Fracci...

I loved Natalia Osipova in the Bolshoi's production a few years back, and it looks like there's a DVD/Blu-ray of the Royal Ballet's production with her and Carlos Acosta.

So, who called you out on your cosplay OP?

If you’ve been taking ballet lessons for a year and a half, you have no business being in pointe shoes. They change the way you walk/the way your feet bend, so unless you took the time to break in your shoes, you probably spent a couple hours in agony with your ankle support ribbons tied up to your thighs.

It is gatekeeping to dancers who have been taking hours of classes per week from the time they’re 3/4 years old. In your year and a half you should have been focusing on turn out, vocabulary, flexibility, positions, etc. You should have been taking essentially baby ballet to learn how to dance. You’re talking like you’re an experienced ballerina.

Do you spend hours designing your costumes? Do you look into details about the characters like the small gold ring on their right thumb that ties in to their history? Or do you go to cons in a store bought medieval dress and say ‘look guys, I’m Galadriel!’

Ballet slippers aren't going to give you any support or protection from the ground if you're outside. I would suggest regular ballet flats, which will give you the look you want but still be actual shoes. I have the [Jessica Simpson Mandalaye] (https://www.amazon.com/Jessica-Simpson-Womens-Mandalaye-Ballet/dp/B00GBJMY8K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518921777&sr=8-1&keywords=ballet%2Bflats%2Bjessica%2Bsimpson&th=1) in natural (which are a knockoff of an expensive designer version), and people ask me all the time if I'm walking around in ballet shoes.

The general opinion is that you cannot teach yourself ballet at home.

However you can show your parents that you are dedicated by reading books (i.e. Vaganovas Basic Principals of Classical Ballet, it's really not expensive and might also be available at you local library)

and do pilates excercises which will help you to get in shape. Depending on your age you can also try and find a job that allows you to pay for classes yourself.

How about a list of helpful books and things for adult dancers like the Joffrey's Ballet Fit.

I don't want to ruin your night but...

these review pictures are terrifying

(and what is with the random knock off Sanshas? I need to exit this rabbit hole)

How about Amazon? It could also be worth calling your school to see if they have any recommendations.

Get some nipple concealers or some jogger's tape

The thing is you may not need the support of a bra (us flat chested and proud unite!) but you still got to deal with the abrasion of the leotard fabric ribbing across the tender skin of the nipples. Hell with marathon runners it does it so much their nipples will bleed. Not fun

So yeah stick these silicon pasties or some athletic tape over the spot and you should be protected.

Gaynor Minden sells wool tights. I bought 3 pairs last month. You can find them on Discount Dance and Amazon. They were discontinued, but they recently brought them back.

I searched "moleskin sheets" and found this.
There are other items linked to that page that would also work, depending on how much you want.
