First, I spent several hundred hours flying exclusively with a joystick in both Bf3 and Bf4 and loved it, even topped national leaderboards for a while a while and was pretty alright-- that said, flying with m+kb is objectively better if what you care about is maximizing your potential. While I find joystick flying way more enjoyable, the fact is that flying in the battlefield series is *very simplistic, and using a joystick means sacrificing the far superior accuracy you get from using a mouse.

I can't recommend this stick enough for the price. Unless you're going to be playing actual flight sims that recquire a full HOTAS setup, this is what you'll want to cut your teeth on.

Mapping the spacebar to pitch up was a huge help. In BF1 I was pretty successful in the bombers and attack aircraft, and so far it feels like that trend will continue in BFV. Fighters on the other hand are a different story. I struggle with the precise and quick movements up close and in first person.

In BF3 I was a decent chopper and aicraft pilot using a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X Flight Stick - just ordered another one (50 bucks) and will give it a try soon.

This is the one I use. I got mine at my local Walmart for like $4 cheaper but they’re the same thing. The downsides of it are it has to be plugged in all the time (it comes with a 10ft cord) and I can’t figure out any of the other things it does lol

It’s supposed to be able to a whole bunch of stuff, but I just use it for the paddles.


Edit: I forgot to add that sometimes my friends complain about static or feedback coming from my mic, but I just unplug and re-plug it in, and it fixes it.

I think the M43 is as close to it as you'll get. Her uniform isnt necessarily 100% accurate. None of them are. But this is a really close shirt. Hope I was helpful.

I use Logitech peripherals so I have it set with 4 presets I can change instantly to adapt to certain aspects of the game. I have 400, 800, 1000, and 2000. I start off playing with it set at 1000 and move the ingame slider to whatever feels best. I drop down to 400 for precise sniping.

The thumbsticks put a cap on just how precise you can be, and just how easily it is to maneuver your player character.

Sure there are console pros who would smash PC players on raw talent, but with an even amount of skill the tools provided by KB+M outclass a controller in almost everything except maybe flying.
