If you can't use DDR4 win your MOBO, I would recommend two options-

  1. Get a 16 GB DDR3 RAM pack to increase physical memory.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00J8E8Y5C/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_229_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2VKWF066S0MK5HDFSKY6&dpPl=1&dpID=61beYW-XuPL

  2. Get a DDR4 compatible motherboard and use the DDR4 RAM that I recommended in my first comment. This one should work great.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N1PNCX3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502136066&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=aorus+motherboard&dpPl=1&dpID=51hUc-yU-%2BL&ref=plSrch

The second option would be more difficult to do, but a fresh motherboard and higher end RAM would definitely be helpful.

Lol no problem we've all been there, you don't have to worry about fps with the pc that you're getting.

I did some research, 1440p + 144Hz monitors are still very expensive, unless you're rich I don't think this is a good buy: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-2560x1440-Display/dp/B0173PEX20/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497628683&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=predator+asus+1440p+144hz

So now the question becomes, do you want 1080p+144Hz or 1440p+60Hz. Honestly, I think you should go for a 1080p+144Hz monitor. You indicated that you want to play shooters like Battlefield for example, those games benefit greatly from as much fps as possible.

Having a 60Hz monitor means that it can only display 60 frames per second, in other words, playing at 140 fps is useless on a 60Hz monitor. Pretty simple right? So a 144Hz monitor will be more than twice as smooth as a 60Hz monitor IF you can hit 140fps, which you absolutely can with a gtx1070. This model is great bang for your buck: https://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-1920x1080-144Hz-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497628158&sr=8-1&keywords=ASUS+VG248QE+Black+24%22+144Hz+1ms
There are more good ones out there, maybe you want to pay even less or more so you can do your own research if you want.

One more thing, I see you're getting a 480GB SSD but no HDD at all. Do you see yourself getting lots of games over time? 480GB of total storage is not a lot. For the same or even lower price you can get a 250Gb SSD to install Windows and your favourite games on AND a 2TB(2000GB) HDD for mass storage of all your other games and stuff. This is my setup and I highly recommend it. If you're not sure, don't worry about it, you can always buy a big HDD at a later date.

I would just be sure this laptop isn't the MSI GL62, as the GL62 uses a very low quality TN display much like a handful of today's laptops in this price range, which I would watch out for.

Which laptop is this? A better value might be:

Lenovo Y520
