I think you should at least give it a shot. As much as it can be frustrating because you don't have control over what other people do and they may take loot you want, etc., the game is also designed to be played in coop so there are a lot of cool things you will not experience if you only play solo, mainly in terms of the interactions and synergies between the different Vault Hunters' skills.
Like I said in a response below, the best way to do it is with friends but if that's not possible, be patient and consistently stay away from people who play like assholes (leave the game or kick them out of yours) and add nice people to your friend list in order to keep playing with them in the future. This has resulted in a lot of really satisfactory gameplay for me in BL2. Also, this subreddit can be a good resource to find cool people to play with.
Finally, as much as many people are ok with playing with you if you don't have a mic, it is something that really enhances the experience so maybe you could consider investing in one. You don't need to spend $100, there are more budget friendly options like this one or this one that some people will hate on but they work perfectly fine if you adjust your expectations to the amount of money you're spending and they will last if you treat them with care. Even this is an interesting option if you're on Xbox and I'm sure there's similar alternatives for other systems.
> Ah yes, who cares about having the best service for an anticipated game of theirs.
who says the actual service that epic are providing is going to be bad? how do we know that epic havn't offered 2k/gearbox/borderlands 3 the ability to have a few dedicated servers so that the game on internet co-op is less suckky?
>Who cares that Epic is creating a monopoly on BL3?
So consoles don't exist now? its on PS4 and xbox 1 with the steam version coming in April, if it were a monopoly then epic would be the ONLY place that you could get it on, PlayStation have a monopoly on Unchartered cause that's the only place you can LEGALLY get the game.
> Who cares that Epic is an objectively worse service than Steam or GOG?
Again have you used Epic's service to its fullest potential at the moment or are you basing all of your knowlege of what epic does on one graph and things you read? think what a digital game distribution needs to have a good service
seems like epic have a decent amount of things that makes it a good store and game client, the stuff it doesn't need that steam for example has is big picture mode, a controller designed from the ground up, trading cards, badges.
> It's not as if people on r/Borderlands care about Borderlands 3 or whatever!
We do care about BL3 it's just not all of us care about what launcher it is bought on
Well, it may help to understand that when judaism first formed it was out of many folk stories that were then woven together to create a singular culture to motivate the judean people to "reclaim" their land in the north (Israel). Part of this was to make stories connecting the two peoples (the exodus and conquest of Canaan), but also it was changing the nature of God. Elohist sources seem to favor the northern part of Canaan (Israel), while Jahwist sources favor southern Canaan (Judea). It appears that over time the Jahwist way of thinking overtook the whole of the religion, changing it from the pagan or pseudo pagan Elohism into more modern Judaism by singling out Jahweh as the one true god or the true nature of god. There are a couple of very good reads on the subject, A History of God (which is summarized fairly well by this video, though I'm sure there are other summaries out there.) and The Bible Unearthed (which takes a look more at the cultures that the stories originated in and the archeological evidence we use to determine whether parts of the bible are reliable, in short some of the figures probably existed but nearly the entirety of exodus is unreliable as a history).
I just got myself the ASUS G750JX-TB71 here and I love it. There is also a version that has SSD and HDD and there is a model step up G750JH that has a GTX780M gpu. I love mine. It is big, a great desktop replacement that can be moved with me whenever I want. Good screen and it stays nice and cool. I'm not worried about it overheating at all
Alright, merch seems to be your best bet. There's tons of stuff, like shirts, mugs, figurines, plushies, posters, etc., on those aforementioned sites. This silk poster is pretty cool, was thinking about getting one for myself. These posters look pretty cool too.
I see that the Amazon.ca version doesn't have a PC download link but if you have a giftcard, would you just be able to use the US PC download link?
http://www.amazon.com/2K-Games-41071rderlands-22-Borderlands/dp/B008ALUBYQ/ref=sr_1_1_title_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1343155539&sr=1-1&keywords=Borderlands+2
This would allow you to get the pre-order bonuses, use your amazon card, and avoid shipping and waiting all together. Might be worth looking into how their download center works.
A point to note is that since this game uses steamworks, amazon will just give you a key and a link to their download store. You can just activate the key on steam and download from there, having only used amazon to get a game key and pre-order bonuses.
I saw that yes but it was less expensive on DLgamer (£26.40 against £30).
I just realize that the voucher works on the UK version of the GMG so you can have it at £22.5 = 28.3€. Great deal !
Edit : You can also purchase it on Amazon at £25 (31.5€), physical version. Free delivered in UK.
Like u/TheDavld said, most likely you are playing at 1080p unless you have the ps4 pro. 4k@30 fps or 1080p@60. Best case framrates, I would go for 1080p@60 fps every time. Given that you might not care for having 60fps vs 30fps. There is a solution for better network connectivity and the 4k screen. I have a set of these. Faster and better connection than WiFi but not as good as Ethernet. Good middle ground. I have these as a quick hookup around the house that I do not plan to make permanent/run Cat6 too.
If you're on PC, you have some options.
For buying alone, your best bet would probably be GMG, they currently have it for $50, but you can use the promo code PCGMR-GREEN-SUMMR to drop it down to $40. You will not get your steam code until release though, so you won't be able to preload the game.
If you have a group a friends, you can get a 4-pack on Steam for $179 ($45 per copy).
Amazon also has a 4-pack but for $162. I don't know when they would give you a key so you may or may not be able to preload.
GameStop is selling for $60, disk or download, but it comes with the creature slaughter dome and moxxi's rocket launcher (these will probably be paid DLC later but may not be).
For a console, you'll just have to check retailers in your area. I think the major stores are all selling for $60 (the gamestop bonus should still apply though).
All of these options would come with access to the premiere club.
EDIT: found a GMG promo code
If you already have wireless controllers, just buy one of these. Well, that is a generic version if you want, or you can get the official microsoft one. This is what I use.
Your usb charging cable will not work to make it a wired controller even though it seems like it should. Trust me.
Just saw this stuff recently at an autozone, maybe it'll help for future guns. Love your work! http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotchprint-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl/dp/B0058DIDTY
When can we expect the Lilith, Maya and Moxxi figures to ship...just wondering...
On another note, what the hell is up with the shipping on the Amazon links in the NECA post? The Claptrap figure is $24.99 with $12.00 shipping and the Psycho Bandit is $19.99 with $9.00 shipping. If you order both separately, it will run you $65.98 for the two of them! There is a dual pack available for $44.99 with $14.00 shipping for $58.99. Yes, it will save you $6.99, but the shipping seems too damn expensive no matter which option you choose.
I don't know if I just haven't bought figures in quite a while or just spoiled by Amazon Prime on most everything I buy online, but the shipping charges for these two figures seem like a rip off. Kind of reminds me of the online sales that advertise something for $0.99 and then charge you $25 for shipping. The price of the figures themselves though (without shipping) seems to be OK, IMO. I have bought other 7 inch action figures and to me this is a decent price.
Out of curiosity, what price did you pay? The cheapest BL2 I've found is on Amazon United Kingdom (pysical version, not digital download); if you are in europe and buy it with something to reach 25 pounds, you get free delivery. The price is around 31 Eur, or 39 dollars (but on US you would have to pay the shipping).
Wilhelm is still more like an Engineer than the cyborg that he was in Borderlands 2.
He still has human looking hands.
Though he does have a sweet looking shoulder cannon.

Mouse over the image Wilhelm is on the far right.
When someone is an Amazon Affiliate, their referral tag is in the URL. For example:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050SYK44/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0050SYK44&linkCode=as2&tag=tacbacon-20
That is the same link as above, but with my fairly obvious referral tag at the end. I stripped the actual link for obvious reasons in this thread. If the link contains tag= near the end, it's a referral. Keep in mind that many Affiliates will use gibberish tags to make it less obvious, so they will not always be as easy to spot as the one above. It's also possible to have many different tags for each Affiliate account, so the same person can have multiple different tags.
Yes, that exact one. http://www.amazon.com/NECA-Borderlands-Action-Figure-Claptrap/dp/B004THZ1KY Goes for $180 if you have the psycho included.
If you own Borderlands 1 from Amazon you get a $18 off promotion for the four pack (or $8 off for the single game if I remember right) on top of the already 10% off sale (this weekend only), which comes out to just about about $36 per person.
Check your links before you post if you're unsure if you're posting referrals.
Usually any web link with a referral will have something to the effect of
ref
in the URL. For example, borderlands 2 from Amazon for me, the link is:http://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-2-Xbox-360/dp/B0050SYK44/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398273447&sr=8-1&keywords=borderlands+2
. (I've deactivated the link)In the url, everything including and after 'ref' can be deleted, leaving the URL as http://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-2-Xbox-360/dp/B0050SYK44/.
FYI.
I ordered a copy from amazon here, and was able to pay an extra £5 or so to have it delivered on the release date.
http://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-Pre-Sequel-PC/dp/B00JDOX2T0/ref=sr_1_1_twi_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1417230438&sr=1-1&keywords=borderlands+the+pre-sequel
It's $29.99, half price so.. I'd pick it up now.
