We have a 55lb boxer and got this one in a large for when it downpours, and this one in xxl for cold days inside/quick trips outside. Neither has a hood but both are washable and have been durable with multiple years of use - especially the plaid/reversible one. She wears that jacket pretty much daily 6 months of the year and is a big baby about rain drops hitting her body so she loves wearing it 😁

If neither of these look interesting try searching amazon for “dog jacket with hood” and then check out the questions and reviews for folks with boxers commenting. That’s how I found mine. Since my boxer is smaller she has odd sizing with a huge chest width and shorter body length. I always make sure to order from sellers with free returns so if the fit doesn’t work out I’m able to return hassle free. Good luck!

for a general training book i can not recomend anything but "Dont shoot the dog" ISBN-13: 978-0553380392

it is great for general trainingand really gets into the reasoning behind all the things it tells you to do.

as far as a boxer goes. keep that dog thinking, they are very smart and tend to get bored and when they get bored they entertain themselves.and they tend to do things that are nor welcome to entertain themselves.

they also are very enthusiastic learners, they are quick to want to please, however they can be stubborn just to see what you do. think of a smart little 4 year old. they will push your buttons.

best of luck and i hope you have a great journey with your new kid, because that's what they are kids.

He is a beauty!

Also, for those old man nose crusties, I highly recommend nose butter! This is super common for brachycephalic breeds like boxers. :)

The Everything Boxer Book is what I purchased (along with Boxers for dummies) when I was looking to get my first boxer.

It's a fantastic book, and probably has everything you need. I highly recommend it.

I also have a breeder recommendation for you. I have currently put money down on an upcoming litter that should be born any day here.

greyoaksboxers.com in friendship wisconsin. Their website is horrible, but they have a great reputation, are AKC inspected and approved this last fall, and have Euro males on site.

Adorable pup. Little for a boxer but I really can't put my finger on it. I used the Mars Veterinary Wisdom Panel 3.0 Breed Identification DNA Test Kit on my pup and he came back 100% boxer as expected. You decide whether you want the test to be run for mixed-breed, designer or purebred. All of the tests include a predicted weight profile and will check for the multi-drug resistance 1 (MDR1) genetic mutation that may cause severe adverse reactions to commonly prescribed drugs. I know this sounds like an ad but I just had a friend recommend it.

The only plush toy my dog has not destroyed is this flea although I must say I don't know why. He usually likes to rip an arm or leg off a toy then pull the squeaker and stuffing out through the hole he creates.

As far as squeakiness without stuffing that last, he likes JW Pet Company Ruffians Octopus Dog Toy and the Kong Airsqueak tennis balls.

My girl did the same thing. We got her one of these and it seemed to work just fine. We didn’t use that brand, but the idea is pretty straight forward.

I use this bowl to slow down my boxer mix: http://www.amazon.ca/OurPets-Premium-DuraPet-Slow-Medium/dp/B001NJ4PVW

It looks like there are also some other options for bowls like that, like this one: http://outwardhound.com/shop/dog-bowls

We got it from Amazon, it's this model and a medium is a good fit for Monte (he weighs 25 kg or 55 lbs.)

It's a gentle leader! It isn't a muzzle, he has full movement of his mouth. When he pulls, it gently pulls his head to the side, preventing him from pulling harder. Here: http://www.amazon.com/Premier-Pet-Products-Gentle-Leader-Headcollar-Large/dp/B00074L4W2

My boxer LOVES this bed! He can't get enough of it and even chooses it over the couch a lot of the time! (Sorry on mobile)

We had the same result with our current boxer with any of the Merrick foods. We ran out while traveling and tried to wean \ switch her to Merrick wet \ dry combo from NutriSource a couple times in her life and every time she starts throwing up like a cat or has diarrhea.
Had 2 other boxers before and had nothing but success with Nutrisource with them and current boxer is the same its been a 10\10 for us with dog food in general.

Looks like this guy except I've only seen them in red, green and purple. We've had it for 10+ years

We got the collar from Amazon (Direct Link to Collar). The name wasn't after Captain Chaos, but was a compromise after the family totally shut down my C'thulhu and I wasn't willing to go with Chewboxer.

I bought this pillow version and it's been awesome. After surgery my pup already doesn't feel good so the cone of shame just made it worse. This actually seems comfy too. http://www.amazon.com/KONG-Cloud-E-Collar-Collar-Large/dp/B0045Y1JGG
