One recommendation for sleep is this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006IIGRA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's not CBD, but it's amazing stuff. It was recommended to me for my back issues. It hasn't done a thing for my back pain, but I haven't slept this well since I was a kid!

I wish you the best. I've heard lots of good things about CBD for MS. My dad had MS. I wish that this was a known thing when he was around, but he's long gone now.

For some good brands to try, see the companies in the sidebar. A lot of us use them and have had good results for our various maladies.

The way we are typically educated to have sex is based on high levels of tension and excitement in a way that is thrilling, but not really deeply satisfying. As you learn to really relax, some of the 'normal' ways of doing things may no longer suit you.

When I got to this 'problem' I learned tantric sex, it is a relaxed non-doing style of lovemaking that seeks to build sexual and emotional connection with yourself and your partner.

In that context being relaxed, present and not chasing orgasm is an advantage, rather than a problem. When orgasm does occur, it relies much less on muscle tension and still feels lovely. Since this method builds a lot of sexual feelings between you and your partner, it tends to be an add-on to'normal sex' rather than replacing it ;)

I enjoyed 'The Heart of Tantric Sex' by Diana Richardson.

Sure, I spent a year making all kinds of extracts and tinctures and reading endless forum discussions about it. There is a great technique called the Quick Wash Ethanol Extraction Technique. QWEET. There are other methods that work, too, but this one is my stand-by now. Feel free to ask if anything is unclear.

Anyway, you basically use 190 proof grain alcohol chilled to 0 degrees F in a freezer. You then decarboxylate your crumbled plant material for an hour at 240 degrees F in your oven, then freeze it, too.

In my recent batch I had a couple ounces of Charlotte's Web flower, so I crumbled that into a half gallon mason jar after the decarbing process, then put it into the freezer, too.

So you end up with two things in your freezer at zero degrees:

  • 1 bottle with 500 or more ml of grain ethanol. A fifth is 750 ml.

  • 1 half gallon mason jar containing 60 grams (2 oz) of crumbled decarboxylated cannabis

You should also have another 2 jars to collect the filtered extraction. They can be quart jars.

After things have chilled to temp, the process goes like this:

  1. Bring out the frozen jar of cannabis and the bottle of chilled ethanol. Have the second and third jar ready. You now pour the ethanol into the jar with the cannabis until it is just covered, no more. Just enough for it to slosh a bit. You slosh it around in that jar for one minute. Some people don't even do it for a full minute, but I do.

  2. This slurry is then quickly poured through a small kitchen strainer into the clean empty jar. This is just a pre-filter to remove most of the plant material. Let the ethanol drain out of the material, then discard the spent cannabis.

  3. The third empty mason jar is now covered by one of those personal coffee filter holders, with a [quality unbleached coffee filter] (https://www.amazon.com/If-You-Care-Unbleached-Filters/dp/B005P0FTYM/ref=pd_sim_79_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005P0FTYM&pd_rd_r=6a4bbfb5-cf5c-11e8-ab44-9143b7b890b1&pd_rd_w=AdTtr&pd_rd_wg=mHLjJ&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=18bb0b78-4200-49b9-ac91-f141d61a1780&pf_rd_r=Q31XVYZ0VWC9SAXJVC0F&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=Q31XVYZ0VWC9SAXJVC0F) in it. Start pouring. This takes a while, so you pour an amount in and wait for it to drain, then add more, etcetera. Eventually it has all been filtered and is in the third jar.

After that you can do a few things. It is technically already a tincture, but you can evaporate off some alcohol to concentrate it more. You can also turn it into thick oil or dabbing material by pouring it into a clear pyrex baking dish and letting all of the alcohol evaporate. The longer it sits the thicker it gets. You then use a razor to scrape it up.

For a truly ideal tincture I will evaporate off all of the alcohol as described, because frankly alcohol tinctures DO taste like shit. I scrape up the thickened oil and then dissolve it into 60 ml (two ounces) of MCT oil. It easily dissolves with just a bit of heat and stays that way, and there is very little taste at all. Now it can be used sublingually for maximum absorption. You can even get all fancy and add flavors. 2 or 3 drops of this oil-based flavoring is ideal.

L-theanine, magnesium, D3/K2, therapy lamp each morning. Omega-3's.

I think NAC is something many should try, (I take 1000mg 2x a day) it's been the #2 thing that's helped my anxiety/OCD/irritability issues other than CBD.

L-tyrosine is the other thing that I take in the morning and I have much more energy and motivation, it's been better than coffee. Amino acids are amazing. I also like red panax ginseng for mood/energy/relaxation.

Gut health is important. I take a probiotic 2x a day and also 5g of psyllium husk for fiber (you won't ever need more than 1 square of toilet paper again). Apple cider vinegar is great for heartburn, I take a tablespoon or so in some water each morning. Many people have gut health issues, and they aren't properly absorbing vitamins/minerals even if they are eating a healthy diet.

Ashwaganda works for many, it didn't for me.

Hemp flower has been great, a backup when I need a bit more than the regular CBD oil. NAC and L-tyrosine I couldn't live without though, they have helped a lot.

I don't know anything that's strictly shelf stable, unfortunately. I want that too, if you find anything...

For that much oil, I'd go with two batches of good old brownies. Make sure the CBD oil is "activated," decarbed, ready-to-eat, whatever. It probably is if you're expected to take it sublingually and it says it has "CBD" (rather than "hemp" or "CBDA").

To turn any cannabis concentrate into butter is dead easy. Just get the amount of butter you need for your brownies soft and melted, then stir the decarbed/activated/whatever concentrate into it, then let it sit in the oven at ~200F for 20-30 minutes, stir again, until it's good and blended. Fats like butter absorb cannabinoids, and since concentrates/isolates are mostly just cannabinoids, you don't need to do anything special. You're not infusing it like you would with flower, which requires more steps and more work.

Don't use a box mix!! They don't freeze well! I recommend two batches of Alton Brown's recipe with two changes: use a straight-sided 9x9 inch pan like this one and bake for 38 minutes. Cut into half, then half, etc. until you have 64 pieces. If you do two batches, you can get 128 pieces, which is pretty close.

Even after being frozen for a month, they're the perfect consistency and really delicious.

___

Edit: By the way, if you live in a legal state, it's easy to make MJ gummies from shatter, then also CBD isolate gummies, then eat them together. You're getting full spectrum (all the cannabinoids, terpenes) that way. A decent CBD:THC ratio (2:1, 3:1, or more) basically erases the high in my experience. Although I wouldn't drive.

Anytime. Anxiety feeds off of those "what if" thoughts. Honestly, the single best thing I probably did was buy this book and practice the steps it offers for dealing with anxiety. It even addresses exactly the fear that you're bringing up about heart rate and has some good tips for how to think about it, so that you can get back to living. https://www.amazon.com/Dare-Anxiety-Stop-Panic-Attacks/dp/0956596258

I did that a lot a while back, and found that checking my pulse (made so easy by my smartwatch) had me thinking about it a lot, and the more attention you pay to it, the more you worry, and the more you worry, the more you increase your anxiety, which causes your heart rate to go up... It's just a horrible, vicious cycle. So whenever I do notice it being fast (because that can be kind of hard to ignore) I just follow the advice in the book and try to remind myself that my heart is an incredibly strong muscle, and it is designed for that and so much more. And, in another context like working out my pulse would hit that or higher, and I wouldn't feel any anxiety about it - because I was trying to get my heart rate up. So whenever I do get those random spikes, or it becomes noticable, I just try to think about the fact that if I were at the gym, I wouldn't think twice about it being at 120, or even 180. Especially because you've ruled out everything else (I did all of that as well - hooray unnecessary EKGs!), then following some steps to frame how you think about and respond to those symptoms might be a good first step for getting out of that vicious cycle.

No idea if this is accurate but I found this:

"CBD crystalline is oil-soluble, meaning it will fully dissolve in oils. This is great for patients because it gives great versatility as to how their CBD can be utilized. You can dissolve it with a nice olive oil and use it on food. You can add it to coconut or MCT oil and drip it under your tongue. You can add it to hempseed oil and rub it directly onto the skin to treat pain at the source."

https://johnnyapplecbd.com/blogs/news/what-s-the-best-way-to-use-my-cbd

Grapeseed or jojoba oils are other options.

Also:

"Usually hemp seed oil or olive oil is used as a carrier in these methods as this is the most effective way to extract resin from the plants and flowers"

https://www.purecbdvapors.com/cbd-oil-made/

Or you could just buy some CBD oil instead of the crystals and put it in one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Sprayer-Improved-2-Pack-Colloidal-Applications/dp/B00JZ29SQ6/

Sprays 0.1 ml per pump.

You sound like an awesome father. Your son is lucky to have you. My son has a sensory processing disorder and he is considered a "explosive child." Doctors think he might be on the spectrum. I am happy your son is able to attend ABA therapy. One thing that helped me with my 5 year old was this book: https://www.amazon.com/How-Talk-Kids-Will-Listen/dp/0743525086

This book also helped me to understand how frustration and not being able to deal with dissapointment was at the heart of some of his anger: https://www.amazon.com/Explosive-Child-Understanding-Frustrated-Chronically/dp/0062270451/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3HZXLLH7AYKGW&keywords=explosive+child&qid=1554916295&s=books&sprefix=explossive+%2Cstripbooks%2C147&sr=1-1

I also started to give him CBD gummiest. I only give him 3 mg. His explosive anger has greatly subsided. He is a different kid. He still has major meltdowns but I would say they have been reduced by 40% in frequency and intensity. Other people have posted on the CBD with kids issue. If you use the search function you can find some of those threads.

Good luck to you. please report back if you decide to use CBD with your child. I am sure there are other parents who would like to know more.

Hello, do not mix distillate with pg/vg. It will precipitate out. People say you can vape pure distillate in ceramic carts/pods but it might be slow to get started because it's so thick. What you want to do is get some flavorless terpenes to thin out the distillate.

This is what I see recommended a bunch but there are others: https://buy-terpenes.com/products/viscosity/viscosity-extract-liquifier/

I'm in the same boat as you so this is my process:

I bought a small beaker:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TVF9WQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and some blunt-tip syringes:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y2JWDQ3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm going to place the distillate in the beaker and microwave for 10 seconds.
Add 4 drops of Viscosity and stir well with the tip of a syringe.
Repeat, if needed, until a decent consistency, then transfer to the pod using the syringe.

*don't let the distillate get too hot as the terpenes and CBD will start to vaporize/evaporate past a certain temp.

Ideally you'd want to use a hot plate with a magnetic stirrer, but those are a bit expensive if you're not running a commercial operation.

I would think it would depend on how much, and how often, you were taking it. Perhaps your body composition as well since it would be fat soluble, and how diluted/concentrated your urine was.

Using a drug test from Amazon is a good idea, imho, because you can find out how much you can take before you test positive. They look pretty reasonably priced too. I found this 15 pack for $10.50 https://www.amazon.com/Easy-Home-Marijuana-Single-Panel/dp/B00DVPS4IQ/

The Gemini 20 Milligram Scale is a pretty excellent option. It weighs down to the mg and is usually pretty accurate +/- ~5mg.

u/ophelia917 · 3 pointsr/CBD

For the VG, I picked up this one and while a shot glass would work, I have one of these measuring cups floating around that I use.

I make a bain marie - that is, I set a small pot of water over low heat with a small heat proof bowl set inside with more water in that. The water comes to the 60 ML mark on the glass. I use a baking scale (or a drug scale...ha. one that measure down to .01g) to measure my CBD into the glass and then top with just enough PG to cover. I set it in the waiting water bath.

The goal of the water bath is to keep it around 140*f. You want it just shimmering and giving off a bit of steam & that's all you need. In about 15 mins, the isolate will disolve into the PG. I like to agitate (usually swirl around a bit) to make sure it's fully combined.)

I usually add up to the 30-40 ML mark with my juice and swirl it around again to combine and let it heat for 15 mins or so, until it's no longer cloudy. It stays better blended this ways. I've had some juices completely break down without this step.

Finally, I add to the 60-65 ML line, let it soak for another 5 minutes, give it a good swirl and then transfer to a unicorn bottle. Once it cools off some, I cap it off and it's good to go.

I am using hemp gummies with melatonin before sleep for 2 months now. They have 5mg of melatonin and 25 mg hemp isolate - to me effect the same as with CBD. I use 2 gummies at a time, and it is more than enough for me, maybe you need more so you should lookg for those crazy ones with 30,000 :) .

Gummies I use help me fall asleep fast and keeps me in deep sleep for long, I wake up fully rested. This brand works well for me, though I wish they had 90 gummies per bottle, as I need to re-order quite frequently.

u/coolguy-FqEZKjFqPGwM · 1 pointr/CBD

I use this 'un https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TDNAM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use it a few times a week. The only con is that the measurement "sticks" a bit with increments less than 5mg. What I mean is, if you are adding 1mg at a time, the display might not change, and then it will change up by 5mg when you have added 5mg. So, while it does technically have 1mg precision, if you really really need 1mg accuracy you might want to double check.

Other than that, it's been great.

u/ICanHeal · 2 pointsr/CBD

Yes CBD might help.

But you also need to learn to get your situation specific anxiety under control psychologically.

I highly recommend the book "Dare: The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks" -- https://www.amazon.com/Dare-Anxiety-Stop-Panic-Attacks/dp/0956596258

It's a very easy read, can get through it in a couple hours - and the psychological technique it teaches it a really, truly effective at vaporizing this sort of anxiety.

I found one Vitam E Liquid bottle on Amazon which got sold a lot.

Amazon has just deleted it, could pull a screenshot from Google Cache:

Would they have used something like this to mix with DIY thc vapes?

u/sal9002 · 2 pointsr/CBD

500/10 = 50 doses. So either you need to be very exacting in measuring volume and divide the 500 into 50 equal volume doses, or you need to get a scale that you can measure 10mg with. Example

u/SativaSammy · 1 pointr/CBD

For ultimate peace of mind, do what I did:

Buy an isolate dropper from Infinite and a 15 pack of THC drug tests from Amazon

I've been taking this CBD for over a week and tested myself twice. Both tests were negative.
