This is the one a lot of people on Reddit tend towards. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good for the price! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XNYXQHE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use a 30x/60x loupe with LED lighting. Super cheap and does a fine job. Loupe $11 now, same as when I bought it.

For coins or anything I need a finer, more stable look at, I use a 60x-120x LED-lit microscope. Microscope $13 now, bought it for $6.60 a couple years ago.

Thanks you for the detailed reply. I ended up ordering #1 and this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0797PPX8D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9moBDbJ4PXZ3R.

I am not sure if it will give me the extra height I will need, but your idea of simply raising the scope higher by placing books underneath the stand should work just fine. I am excited to try out this new setup next weekend.

I use Coin storage tubes that you can buy from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RY28XYC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also use this coin roll box for the tubes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NIIS2U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both of these are exclusively for pennies, you need to find the correct versions for other coins.

I also use these for good coins i find. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q32V9K4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Depending on how often you plan to do it, you can start with the basics:

A pair of gloves (disposable or professional) will keep the dirt off your hands, as CRH can be very dirty.

Cloth bags (or other strong bags) can be used to dump the coins you plan to return to the bank.

For storing your coins, you can go one of three main ways: You can place them in an album like this one, you can put them in a coin folder like this one, or you can place them in 2x2 cardboard coin protectors, then place them in 2x2 plastic sheets to display or put them in 2x2 cardboard protector storage boxes, like these.

Those are some good supplies to start off with, you can also consult the side bar of the subreddit for more potential supplies :)

Nice score! I recommend this book to anyone interested in finding error coins and die varieties in your pocket change. It's fun and people find them more often than you'd think.

I could weigh 50 in about 30 seconds or less.
Drop it on, slide to left off of the scale for copper, slide up and off onto the lid for zinc.

It would surely take you a little bit of time for that many lol.

Here’s the scale I use.

A Guide Book of United States Coins, known as "The Red Book," is the gold standard for general coin reference books on US coins. That will give you a place to start.

Edit: I just re-read your post and noticed the title and text are asking two different questions. For storage, I recommend 2x2 Saflips. Just type that into Amazon.

Alternatively, if you buy proof and mint sets, you'll get the coins you're looking for already packaged. Albums can scratch coins when you insert the protective slide (oh, the irony) and aren't recommended. Look for holders that are acid-free and PVC-free. Avoid soft plastics.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0794841805?pc_redir=1411127300&robot_redir=1 this is the book I always have on hand when I roll hunt to look for key dates.

I have been using this book, Cherrypickers' Guide, and have found it to be a good resource.

I am cheap, so the folders by Harris should work good, includes both D and P. Out of stock on amazon, but you can find some that are similarly priced on ebay.

Get yourself a Whitman Album. Cheap way to store them neatly while being able to take them out and look at them
