If you want to do 1080p gaming at mid settings, you can get a much more appropriate build for much cheaper. 1070Ti and 2070 are enthusiast cards for 2k/4k gaming, and would be extra.

I'd recommend, if you're interested, to check out http://www.logicalincrements.com/. If you hover over each tier, you can see what you could expect performance wise. Going off your comment, you'd probably be in the "Good" and "Very Good" range.

I'd say if you're sure you want prebuilt, this is a good choice. I have something similar to this (ryzen 1600 and rx 480) and I usually get around 100fps on 1080p high settings. Side-note, if you're into emulation, an intel cpu and nvidia gpu are usually better choices, but you'll definitely pay a premium.

I personally use this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PC07T02/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fRgKzbGQK0WSY
It's metal so it's durable as hell, USB 3.0 so data speeds are quick as well as giving you more USB ports, and the ethernet was plug and play so I didn't need to install any drivers. I've had it for half a year and I'm pretty happy with it.

Receptacles to plug in and charge your computer can be scarce in some rooms in the CLA where most of your CIS classes will be. Rather than fighting over the outlets, it might be beneficial to bring a small multiple outlet power strip. Another thing that may be helpful is to get a C14 adapter like this:

I used a C14 adapter to "borrow" power from one of the LCD monitor cords on the desks when there wasn't a receptacle available nearby.

As someone else said, I have a laptop I might be willing to part ways with if interested. Not even 6 months old since I got it in early August. Thought I would need it when I moved down here but turns out I dont.

This is what I got: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07M9SMWMS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I did upgrade its RAM to 16gb and also increased the storage with another 256gb ssd up to 512. Let me know what your budget is. Maybe we can work something out.

Oh you definitely can have surge protectors. The picture they have there is misleading.

What they're referring to are extension cables or an outlet adapter like this

After reading all these rant posts about aggressive drivers in Cal Poly Pomona, I should have gone for dual camera, front and rear. I can prove I’m not at fault if some dumbasses hit my car from back, for only $50 more.
