That's not a bad one at all. I personally use the G Pro tenkeyless.

I use a G703 mouse. The G403 is identical in style but wired and a bit cheaper if you want to save some money. I actually have a new in box 403 I'd sell you for really cheap if you'd like..

Check out rocketjumpninja's website for advice. He has a good video on hand size and grip style that will help you choose a mouse. Keyboards, as long as they are quality, come down to personal preference on style and other features.

If you have the room space for it, consider a nice foldup table. Pretty cheap, lots of space, and easy to clean, doesn't look that bad either. I personally use it and I recommend it if you need extra space. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOZTM3O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TR6uzb4G76Q5N you should be able to find at any store near you if you don't buy online

Wooooo, that looks pretty much like my PC. You'll be able to play pretty much any current game on very high/max settings, its kind of overkill to get the most out of Overwatch(it's not a super-demanding game) You can definitely get the monitor keyboard and mouse for cheaper, ZOTAC has a good 1070 for cheaper on amazon

So I mentioned r/monitors because if you go there and mention the ASUS VG248QE, there will be some polar opinions. I actually have this monitor, but I don't know if I would purchase it again. It's not actually a budget monitor either, and mine developed a row light pixels along the center. It's still under warranty so as soon as I get a 144hz replacement I'll send it back and use it as a secondary display. Anyway, I'm a single point of anecdotal data. Many people will recommend other monitors though. The replacement I'm looking at is the ViewSonic XG2401, which appears to be generally well recieved among enthusiasts. Few people have actual standards for monitors, so if you ask somebody they'll likely recommend their own because they like it, not because they did their research.

My favorite part of being in LA is the weather. I lived in the Northern Midwest my whole life (Wisconsin, Michigan, Chicago), so it's nice to complain about 60 degree weather.

Mr.X is only on one small box, as am I. Though, I probably need more boxes, because Blizzard insists on pairing me with casters who are all over 6'3" and I'm a mere 5'8". Reinforce is tall, but such a sweet guy that it isn't intimidating. I've been short my whole life, so it isn't anything new to me for someone to tower over me.

I listen to heavier music, so generally whatever I'm digging on my spotify that day. Of course, a classic is my namesake hexagram - Deftones.

My pre-cast ritual is generally reading outloud for at least ten minutes. Not only does it warm up my vocals, but it gets my vocabulary going and my mind working. I'm currently reading The Best American Non-Required Reading which is a collection of essays on a myriad of topics.

Memes aside that's a pretty good foundation to believe in philosophically.

A once heard some advice that I'll share with you: to truly succeed at something you need two things, obsession and work ethic.

I highly recommend this book. I wish I could have read it at your age.

u/OWTalvi · 5 pointsr/Competitiveoverwatch

Agreed. First time seeing you cast, Bren, but it was a nice smooth job and if this is your first time, well done. One thing I will ask: this is fairly cheap and can be bought from amazon uk: https://www.amazon.co.uk/PhotoGeeks-Black-White-Reversible-Backdrop/dp/B00GUGROLG/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1492962433&sr=8-9&keywords=collapsible+backdrop or https://www.amazon.co.uk/PhotoSEL-1-5mx2m-Reversible-Collapsible-Background/dp/B002VT1CQE/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1492962433&sr=8-15&keywords=collapsible+backdrop And it folds up into a flat disk. :) We don't need to see all that clutter in the background.

I believe it was called a "PS4 Navigation Controller" I highly recommend learning to use a Keyboard as you cannot do things with the controller that you can do with a keyboard (ADAD Strafeing, etc).

Edit: Here it is

There are other input methods you can use as well. Do your research!

Glad I could help, there really wasn't anyone there to help with the transition.

there were a few times i felt that you could have been on the objective and actively clearing it with fan and easier headshots + flash, it is just a sense that you have to develope by being more aggressive here and there and finding what works in clearing enemies faster while still not dieing...kinda hard for me to explain, like when you know they are focusing on your reaper or rein or something and you can push in aggressively and force them to split their attention or just end them while they dont look at you. Your passive positioning isnt bad it's just going in when you have an opportunity to exploit a weakness. When it comes to sensitivity it comes down to how much room you have for your mouse, I have 400 dpi and 8 in-game which i think is similar to 800 and 3-4, and I have a large mouse pad ENHANCE GX MP2 that is 31.5" x 13.75" and I have been doing fine with both projectiles and hitscan, takes some getting used to with the surface, but man has it made a difference for me. I feel that precision is still very very important on tracer because if you cant get the headshots on mei, ana, mcree, ect. you will be killed if you arent careful, it just comes down to tracking more, which with a low sensitivity is much harder to screw up. I have seen quake pros test the extremes of low sensitivity (like 100+ cm/360) and they have been able to effectively use it, not that I am recommending that...it just comes down to having enough room and having the practice and knowledge to use the sensitivity, much like high sensitivities. I personally have used Quake Live to practice tracking with the Lightning Gun and with Rockets, and that has improved my aim with them dramatically, I feel that it is one of the few games that you can bring almost all of the mechanics from it over to overwatch (when it comes to weapons and certain movements). If you feel like you need to up the sense then do it, but once you find one that works for you, stick to it...I have fudged up my aim way too much switching around over the course of 5 months, I went from something like 12.5"/360 when I was in Siege Pro League, to 18" in CS:GO, to 10" at the start of overwatch, which has crept back to 17.5 (i think) in overwatch and I am holding it stable because I can effectively snipe, projectile lead, track, and CQC with that sense.

TL;DR - Don't be afraid to go in, look for when the enemy is distracted. Any sensitivity can work if you have the space to fit it and the practice and game knowledge to put it to use. Pick a sensitivity that you feel comfortable with in all situations and stick to it! (aka. raise your sense if you feel you need to, but stick to what you pick!)

Agreed with the many suggestions for the QcK heavy. For an alternative recommendatin, I came across this extended mouse pad and it's been fantastic for FPS gaming (I play a lot of CSGO too): SubZERO Gaming TYKA Mouse Pad

They have a few sizes, using the extended mammoth and it covers almost my entire desk. Been really happy with it!

Your build looks pretty good, but i'll suggest some tweaks.

  1. For the 1070 i'd recommend getting a board partner cooler, they run cooler for the same price https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GAMING-GeForce-GTX-1070/dp/B01GXOX3SW?ie=UTF8&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=olp_product_details

  2. You should get a hard drive alongside your SSD. Not every game needs the fast loading speeds of an SSD, and neither do files like music, pictures, and videos.

  3. Try /r/microsoftsoftwareswap for much cheaper windows keys. I'm pretty sure people are able to sell the keys for so cheap there because they have student discounts.

Nixeus Revel is 44.99 on Amazon Canada right now. Top tier 3360 sensor, good safe shape, light, and pretty decent quality. The black is rubberized black. The white is glossy white. I own both and prefer the black. Download the alpha software they have out right now customize the dpi steps etc. It'll update the firmware too.

Here's a review from Rocket Jump Ninja.

It's not true (at least not as it concerns Overwatch). You want fast RAM (which is measured in nanoseconds by the RAM's "true latency"). To calculate the true latency of your RAM, you do 2000 / (clock speed of your RAM) CAS Latency of your RAM. For example, I have this Corsair 3000 mhz DDR4 ram with 15 CAS latency so I would do 2000 / 3000 15 = 10 nanoseconds. You want your RAM's true latency to be 10 ns (nanoseconds) or less for Overwatch. This video does a really good job of explaining how clock speed and CAS latency work together and I need to give credit to /u/pyr0pr0 and his comment tree in this thread here for introducing me to these concepts

Haha no problem.

The little tape things underneath are teflon feet, they make the mouse a little more slick and also protect the original feet a bit.

https://www.amazon.com/CS-Hyde-Removal-Adhesive-Diameter/dp/B0099AMQGS/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468707455&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=mouse+feet+hyde

Fast or slow is honestly just up to you, I like mine a little more smooth but it's 100% preference. QCK is on the more control side, if you go on amazon and look up the reflex lab mousepad that's supposedly pretty slick though.

Filco is the best of the best in terms of mechanical keyboards. You won't be disappointed. I have two of these, one for home and work. Legendary.

at the very least, you should do stretches and stuff in between games, I've been doing the same thing (although not as long per session as you are), and stretching often really helps alot in terms of stopping wrist problems for me. I also got some I also have some gloves like this, which do wonders in terms of comfort and stuff so I imagine if you have your arm rested on a table while playing, getting something similar for your arm to have some cushioning between arm and desk would have similar effects.

and of course like people said, take some breaks every few hours. even if all you do is just stand and walk for a few minutes, it still helps alot.

I have a kneeling chair which I don't always use because it does make my legs sore quickly but I feel like I play better in it than a normal chair

u/involver · 3 pointsr/Competitiveoverwatch

Might I recommend these? they're only 10$ more and a lot better. Otherwise I'd look into the Gskill Trident line--you can do better than 2133 @ 10!

u/xbepox · 2 pointsr/Competitiveoverwatch

They're using aviation headsets, looks like David Clark H10's (https://www.amazon.com/David-Clark-H10-13-4-Aviation-Headset/dp/B0011Z9PM2). They're pretty comfortable, no problem wearing them for hours at a time and they have some pretty beefy noise cancellation (you'll never get 100% noise cancellation but its good enough).

source: dad was a pilot and used to wear these when flying with him

u/_Knuckles_69 · 14 pointsr/Competitiveoverwatch

If that's the same one they use on stage They're aviation headsets for the noise cancellation. They are on Amazon but pricy.

I believe its these
