That's very dependent on generation numbers after the i3 or i5. Same with AMD kinda, that being a 9th gen from AMD. Which in my opinion would be fine. Where as like an Intel i5 3xxx series might be much slower. Just depends.

Something like this is good: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Display-A12-9720P-Bluetooth-Earphone/dp/B0748YG81P/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=lenovo+amd+a12&qid=1557204502&s=gateway&sr=8-3

However it doesnt have an SSD, but that cpu would be decent at the price point espcially for things like photoshop / premiere on a budget. But honestly swapping in an SSD isnt too hard with a youtube tutorial. Even so, the HDD will be slower but still ok.

Here got u, it's 409$ plus 19 shipping but powerful and good, I was keeping my eyes on this thing for awhile for my friend https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Optiplex-9020-Quad-Core-Professional/dp/B00T6H8GIG

Depending on the slots still open on your computer you might be able to add a few more fans to the case which will help a bit to an extent.

I assume that's not the stock fan setup, but you could always look into putting a higher efficiency thermal paste on it to squeeze out a bit of extra heat reduction.

This might be a good choice if you go that route, supposedly it can reduce your temps by 2 degrees by itself through better thermal conduction.

I would recommend you this laptop.

It is a very good pc for that price. It has everything you need for a word/excel machine and it should perform pretty good in those tasks.

No problem, I just wanted to make sure of your price limit before I started poking around. Personally if I had a budget of 3k but wasn't going to be doing actual gaming, this is the one I would settle on. With the leftover budget I'd invest in a nice keyboard, mouse, monitor, and headset for the area that I work in the most. If that's something you'd look into as well I can recommend some peripherals.

what budget are you on? I have this https://www.amazon.de/Zotac-GeForce-Grafikkarte-Base-Takt-Boost-Takt/dp/B01GVNN9GQ gtx 1070 (I got it cheaper) and use a silverstone rl06 pro and have been pretty happy. LG Julia

I'm not sure if you're using a translation program, or just confused with the terminology.

Power is electricity, if the monitor can turn, it has power. If you bought the monitor without any cables whatsoever, then you'd probably need just a C13 Power Cable with a plug for your country - this is an example of an American one. The monitor you have has a built in power supply and can take wall voltage directly.

  1. If you want to use this to play video games from an Xbox, you will only need an HDMI cable in addition to this.

  2. If you want to watch TV, it's possible to use services like YouTube TV, Sling, Hulu, Netflix, etc to play content from your computer.

  3. If you don't want to use the computer, you can use a device like a Roku to use all the above services.

  4. if you want to watch local TV content, you can buy a DTV converter box and an antenna.

  5. otherwise you could get a cable or satelite TV service, and still connect this to a set top box

Except for number 2, All the above would connect via HDMI.

Get a SSD. Theyre alot faster and you can buy a 2.5 inch adapter and screw that ssd into that. Works great.

So i'm still having some issues on this. I tried to hook it up via this: USB3 to Sata3 When I do this I see it show up on the DiskPart list as Disk2, but it shows "no media". It also doesn't show up under System>Storage. And under Disk management it shows up, but as removable G drive and to the right where it should show partitions and what not, nothing is there.

it is a PC HDD that i'm trying to erase on a laptop. Does that matter. Thanks in advance for all your help.

This is how they’re supposed to be by design. Most computers now have it this way. Usually headsets will have a splitter but if you don’t happen to have one they’re pretty cheap. here’s one for $6 USD on Amazon. As a general rule, the green jack is for headphones and the pink is for microphone, which is why the pink one is the only one that’ll let you use your mic on the back of your computer.

u/katataru · 2 pointsr/computer

Yes, pretty much.

One caveat however, The GTX 970 has two 6-pin power connectors while the GTX 1070 has a single 8-pin power connector, so make sure your power supply has that connector or buy a 6-pin to 8-pin adapter*.

*Random example taken from Google, may not be the best option (it seems a bit expensive)

I have one of these for cleaning my desktop occasionally. I recommend not using a que tip as the fuzzies will get stuck in the slot or pull a pin or something. Also, compressed air is ok but careful not to move the can while the spray is going or it will release moisture is what i've experienced.

You messed with his BIOS? So, basically when you made the changes and tried to boot it up, it won't run now? You are right with trying to remove the CMOS. It is an ASUS ROG STRIX mobo, so the CMOS if I am not mistaken should be covered by his gpu. Remove the GPU first, then you should see the CMOS.

Use this as a reference, if it is of help at all, just to see the location of the CMOS.

  1. Get a dual docking station for both 2.5/3.5 hard drives that allows cloning ability.

  2. Shutdown computer and take out the hard drive you want to clone.

  3. Use the dual docking station to clone the entire drive and everything on it from origin A to destination B. I’ll leave a link below.

Welp, by looking up the product numbers and saying "fan" after them, they are basically identical looking, and quite identical in specs.
