It's actually pretty awesome how little you need. I got this kit on Amazon that includes a stand, solder (the metal stuff you melt), the soldering iron, and interchangeable tips for the end: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M4JW8YK/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You also need copper tape https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01CH4LYZ6/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to wrap around where you want it on the stones, since the solder won't usually adhere to stones directly.

Down the road I really should also get some flux, which is a liquid that helps the solder flow more freely, and a third hand, which has a bunch of clamps to help hold things exactly where you want. Let me know if you want to see some online tutorials, I can send you some of the links I liked learning from!

Brother CS6000i Feature-Rich Sewing Machine With 60 Built-In Stitches, 7 styles of 1-Step Auto-Size Buttonholes, Quilting Table, and Hard Cover https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JQM1DE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_KbzGwb4HTNABS

I cannot recommend this enough. It's my second sewing machine. My first was my grandma's from the 1940s then this. Comes with lots of accessories. I bought mine "used" from amazon warehouse for I think $125 because the box was beat up (but the machine and all accessories were perfect and present). I have nothing to compare it to but the 5k reviews on amazon loved it and I have been very pleased with it.

I also recommend a brother machine. I've had mine 7+ years and not a single issue with it. I would buy brother again if I needed to replace mine. I am somewhere in between beginner and intermediate skill level, and this was the machine I started out on

This one on amazon is under $100 and has lots of reviews, looks like people are quite happy with it

This is the burner I'm currently using, but it's pricy. I started Woodburn initially using this,to see if I'd like it, but the thread for the tips melted with extended use. I invested in the fancy professional one when I felt certain I was going to keep this hobby going, but the first one I bought really worked well for practice and testing out the hobby!

My favorite beginner's book is Beginner's Guide to Quilting by Elizabeth Betts. Also, Craftsy has some free classes. You can also check out /r/quilting's wiki for a pretty comprehensive list of how to get started and beginning supplies.

Do you know what pattern or block you're going to do? With any pattern, especially if you're machine piecing, it is CRITICAL to pin seams securely. This is what makes all the difference between all those blocks lining up and slightly off messy looking lines.

Also, hand quilting is not easy and take practice to get the motion down. Don't be disheartened! It seriously takes a lot of practice to get those tiny stitches down. I've been focusing on big stitch quilting which gives a different look, but it still works well. If you have a regular sewing machine, you are pretty much limited to straight line quilting with it.

My roommate got me this book for Christmas and it's super easy. All you need is a hot glue gun and a box cutter and a yardstick.

My ex had 3-4 guitars when we lived together. We used the guitar wall hangers that you need to screw into the wall. The only thing I found so far online that would keep your boyfriend's guitars out of the way is this one, which can hold them while hanging inside a closet so if his place has good closet space this could be a good idea?

You should totally do that! This is the book I used, if you're interested. It covered my 2'x3' table top and ~1'x11' of a shelf and there's still images left over!

Cool! I use the double of that one, which I was going to recommend. I think they're functionally almost identical, though the version I have lets you tinker with the power output a bit more.

Kinda funny, but I also started out with something simple and similar to the one you used.

Should be less than $15 at places like Michaels. Especially with coupons.

I used this vinyl. Then let it cure for 24 hours.

The unicorn head glitter was from a different place on amazon.

My dad who has many an ink explosion on his dress shirts swears by carbona3, seriously.
