I'm assuming that it's something like this..

There's not much maintenance on a recurve crossow. Wax the string and perform any other maintenance according to the owner's manual.
Never ever dry fire it.
Do you have a nice thick archery target? Something like a Yellow Jacket is good. Don't shoot into boards or trees, you'll ruin your bolts (arrows). Make sure that you have a good backdrop in case you miss the target. It happens.

Unless you just enjoy pain, use the rope cocker. It's better for the bow and better for your body. Although you might be able to cock it by hand, that's a lot of pressure on your finger joints.
My first (and only) crossbow is a barnett. It sells here for about half your price point, is excellent IMO for quality and, (very important to me) customer support. In the two years I have had my Jackal I had to call twice and both times the call was answered by a human and the issue was resolved quickly.
As they say in New York, "Youze guys got Amazon, or what?"

You will also want to get 6 - 12 more bolts
Enjoy.
I had the same problem with the scope on my CP370. I submitted a warranty claim but ended up buying and mounting UTG 4X32 1" Crossbow Scope, Pro 5-Step RGB Reticle, QD Rings from Amazon for $60.

I've still got plenty of room for adjustments on both E/W and I'm dead on. Maybe my original factory scope was damaged or just crap, but so far I'm liking the one I linked. It definitely lets more light in, which was a huge plus over my factory scope. I was out zeroing it a dusk and could see the target great. Haven't messed with the Red/Green illumination yet, other than to turn them on/off.
I have a different model but is that an attachment for what is labeled #3 in your image for a device like this? If so, it would attach somewhere near the "heel" of the rope catch - behind it to use as a guide for the device.
Here is a good starting place for you. It will take field tips and broad heads. You never want to shoot broad heads into a target that is not designed to take them.
The one that I posted is this one:

I don't have any tools to build one and plus I don't know that much about building weapons, also here's another link to one I was thinking about maybe getting: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NYEIYY8/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AW5VCQ8QJC9FD
I would have to also buy bolts or whatever they're called so I don't know about this one.
