Honestly, my large screen Bravia with relatively low input lag is sufficient for Destiny compared to my 1ms monitor. The real advantage in the monitor was being able to watch the whole screen more easily. I got this guy when it was around $200. Love it. Most people will recommend this BenQ.

I use this $55 one

Comes with the adapter for the 3.5mm jack. Adapter has an easy way to adjust game vs voice audio, as well as easily mute. If you ever upgrade, at least you'll still have the adapter.

I've plugged the the headset into my computer and it works great. People always think I have a fancy mic setup.

The mic also detaches so you can use them as normal headphones.

I switched from a 50" plasma to a 24" monitor and it was a pretty noticable difference. I don't know if it was directly related to input lag or just being able to see everything up close. I also like sitting in a computer chair instaid of slumped on a couch or whaterver.

Here is the one I got. It is cheap and works great. My only complaint is the color isn't the most vibrant but for gaming it works just fine. If you are on a budget this one would be fine, if not maybe splurge a bit more on a nicer one.

You don't want a splitter unless you want to have Destiny on both screens as the same time. If you want to choose which screen will display the image you need a switch/matrix that does 2in/1out or something like that. I've got a Rocketfish HDMI switch from Best Buy that I use and I haven't expereinced any lag that I'm aware of. But I'm using a pc monitor. Something like this should work for you.

I have been looking to get a monitor for my Xbox one and move away from my 40" TV.

Ive dont a bit of research and have 3 on the shortlist.

ASUS Designo MX279H

BenQ ZOWIE 27"

ASUS VS278Q-P

Would love any input on which would be best.

I'd say def don't go much over 100. The thing is though that for Destiny, there are not very many subtle sound cues like in a COD. These [HyperX Cloud] are what I have though and are the best sounding headset/headphones that I've ever had, IMO way better Beats.

Agree that a headset is the way to go and you don't need to invest much. A decent set of earbuds or even something like this will be great.

it was a kickstarter project

maybe too heavy for your liking but definitely a few interesting features

I'm picking this up on Friday. 21.5" is perfect for my desk and it'll be small enough to be mobile. Playing on a 23" TV/Monitor *currently. Personally, I like the yellow as well. And for that price, it'll probably be hard for me to beat.

Just food for thought here. Why don't you stick to controller until you get a bigger mouse pad? Mouse pads are not that expensive anyway.

This is the same size Shroud uses for instance: https://www.amazon.com/Glorious-Gaming-Mouse-Mat-Pad/dp/B00NOD04CY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543602777&sr=8-3&keywords=glorious+xl+mouse+pad

Your sensitivity is so incredibly high I couldn't imagine controlling that thing. My sensitivity I use which is quite popular (same as Gigz and Kraftyy) is 800 DPI @ 5 sens but I use a .7 ADS modifier.
My eDPI for look sensitivity is 4000 while yours is 36000. 9 times faster than my sens and I don't even consider my sens slow. I know people who use 800 DPI 3-4 sens.

Btw picking up your mouse is just something you have to do anyway, in all games. Watch this vid of a former CSGO pro explaining arm vs wrist aiming and having to pick up your mouse. Notice his large mouse pad but still requiring having to pick up your mouse over and over again. It is a skill in itself knowing when to reset your hand as you turn so that you don't fall off/hit your keyboard whatever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLvBQx1g1qA

I use a Logitech with all sorts of RGB extras to match the rest of my logitech RGB stuff so you can probably find something cheaper if you're on a budget or have another brand preference. It's like 14" wide and feels great.

It is, and the harder you try to get into the zone the further away you get.

There's about 20 years of research on the concept of flow, I would highly suggest reading Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's seminal novel Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience if you're interested in how it actually works.

u/SpaceMagic403 · 3 pointsr/CruciblePlaybook

this is what I use, it's glorious. keyboard sits on top of it and gives you so much room. 3 feet wide.

u/AnonymousSpaceMonkey · 3 pointsr/CruciblePlaybook

It's just soft rubber. There isn't any technology behind it that makes one better than another. Get a generic mixed bag and figure out the length and grip you like, or try a buddies controller who has them if you can.
