Read this. It covers everything from the creation of btc to the reason why bch was created, Ethereums rise, Iota threatening to sue their auditors, the future of blockchain and distributed ledgers etc.
Like its all recent information and you can get it on Audiobook from Audible. If you sign up they give you one free book so you can claim it and then cancel the sub keeping it for free lol.

Highly HIGHLY recommended.
That doesn't make sense. We used rare metals like gold for a huge chunk of history as money, pretty sure a spanish bullion is worth more than it's weight in gold. People will pay thousands for a misprinted penny. Money will always have value, even if it's within collectors. Even monopoly money isn't $0.
u/soundsoviel if you enjoy reading and haven't read it yet you should definitely read Dr. No by Iam Fleming. It's a fantastic book in which James Bond has experiences you can probably relate to being among poor black people. It shows the sentiment of your post, how things take on a fun atmosphere. The James Bond movies are not at all like the books. I'm a huge fan of both. Fleming wrote many books in a similar style, but I think Dr. No captures your experience best. Here is an Amazon link:

Although these are in no way top 10 articles, I’ve received good feedback from non-tech readers here on Reddit and on the site. Give it a look before reading some of the more thorough articles. My take on bitcoin. My explanation of blockchains
Then consider buying a digital copy of Blockchain for Dummies by Tiana Laurence. Amazon link. The digital copy has many useful links to more info.
Good luck.
Yes the karma system was invented to protect crypto traders from getting idle hands from evil rumor spreaders like me.
What a fucking self aggrendizing and delusional thought.
If you were interested in real financial advice you wouldn't be reading this subreddit, the dumbest place have found yet on the internet for cryptonews. Even 4chan/biz is better because they don't downvote bad news and signals.
If you wan't to get out of the fomo/fud mill go read a book ( you should thank me for this advice ):

Also go help your local community or pledge a percentage of your income. Jesus you guys are fucking navel gazing.
Go look at the charts we are heading downwards and selling and buying in again is NOT BAD ADVICE right now.
We just passed the 128 MA that we have been ABOVE SINCE 2016 for gods sake. Over 2 years ago and at that time we entered long term bear market.
Just giving you guys free advice and you get all sad and angry and vengeful.
Major security flaw here. How are you going to prevent governments from reading the mnemonic seeds from your memory? You guessed it, tin foil hat. This is probably common knowledge, but make sure to use heavy duty foil for protection from long wavelengths as well as sub-infrared bands. I prefer this kind because the aluminum oxide coating will keep your head cool when passing through areas of high luminous flux (especially for frequencies in the microwave bands).
Some are expensive, mine was only $26 and I love it. It's perfect for passports, birth certificates, or anything you wouldn't want to lose. I'm just gonna put mine in it and throw it in the back of a closet or somewhere far out of sight.

Just found this one with excellent reviews as well: Ethereum: Blockchains, Digital Assets, Smart Contracts, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations, by Henning Diedrich, September 8, 2016; 360 pages, only available in dead-tree version.
Samsung make good SSD's, and Corsair are very good as well. I believe you can get a Corsair 60gb drive new for about £40 on Amazon.

This setup will yield good density, but it takes a little fiddling to get up and running (drivers).

I like the word "forging" as an alternative to "mining" as it implies creating something new rather than finding something that is already there. I think at least one crypto uses this term, but I don't remember which now.
For a guide on naming things well (and consistently) I highly recommend Metaphors We Live By, which completely changed how I think about language.
