Return to home is a nightmare for newbs. Use at your peril!

Buy extra batteries (I have 5 in total, 3-4 is ideal). For the same price as one more battery, buy a RAVPower charger that use can charge your phone, your batteries, and your remote with (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019IFIJW8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

I bought a cheap hard case, which holds 6 batteries, the Spark, the controller, plus the RAVPower and extra props (under $30, and I toss it in my backpack if I go out on a trail where you look like a weirdo carrying a little suitcase, lol).https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072QWG49K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought a landing pad, was not sure I needed it, but glad I got it. I live in a sandy area (beach, plus sandy trails in the woods), so this is a must. $14: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XQP7MHQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Watch for interference from your phone bluetooth, and if you have an iOS watch, that can cause issues too.

BUY the insurance from DJI. Day one, 5th flight in, the Spark started drifting in ATTI mode (google it!). Basically it was acting erratically, and I was flying around 5-7' off the ground, and it was headed into a street. I used the RTH (return to home) button, and it kept drifting, until it was under a large tree. Then, it rose up to the return to home height, chopping its way through the tree, until it did not, and crashed. may you have better luck!

Image wise, be aware that the Spark tends to blow out extreme highlights (surf foam, sand, etc.). The lack of RAW sucks, but you can always underexpose a bit. There is a AEB feature though that is super easy to enable, it basically takes 3 exposures (metered, + one stop, - one stop). Even if you don't merge the three, you will at least have your pick of the three.

For post work, on iOS I use SnapSeed the most. It basically works like the desktop NIK imaging suite works. Great program! (and I clean up stuff professionally) For Desktop post still work, I use Luminar & Aurora for HDR (and the NIK suite).

The Spark is a great first drone, you will have a blast! cheers.

The first reply I received from DJI said I must have confused the standard (fly less) with the Fly More. I followed up with a screenshot of the Amazon store showing the estimated dates for the Fly More between June 21-26, and received the following reply:

"We are sorry for that. It should be the the shipping date of the Spark not the Spark fly more combo.
You also can check the there is note on Amazon
"Get it as soon as July 7 - 17 if you choose Standard Shipping at checkout.
Ships from and sold by DJI Official Store.." Here we also attached you a screen shot for your reference.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07173X82D?th=1

We always arrange the shipment on first come first served the basis, so it is impossible that the customer ordered the DJI Spark Fly More Combo (Alpine White) now can receive the drone sooner than you. Don't worry and thank you for your kindly understanding.

For further questions, please feel free to reach us, we will be more than happy to assist you.
Have a good one!
Best regards,
DJI Official Store"

My delivery date is still estimated for June 30 - July 18, so I wonder just how "impossible" it will be for someone who ordered after 5/26 to get their order before those dates? My bets are pretty good if DJI is quoting earlier dates for you.

I wish masterairscrew would stop using the word stealth, because it’s just bad marketing. Obviously they can do what they want but not one of their blades they offer are “stealth”. Just call them low noise props because stealth means I can not be seen or heard.

Thanks for the quick review. I don’t like they don’t fold because I have a case that perfectly fits my portable DJI charger that protects folding blades but won’t accept the non-folding style which means I’ll have to remove them after every flight to put them away. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Still night try them, been looking at Anbee’s offering. Their red is actually a nice bright red. LINK

Yeah… I had problems with my OTG Cable not working too. I didn’t like that it was two cables put together to make one either; so I just ordered a new one off Amazon [about 4 months ago now] and I haven’t had a problem since.

Also, IDK if you know this but you can fly the Spark without any OTG Cable. It’s over the Controller’s WiFi that’ll connect directly with your phone. You’ll have to Google how to do it, cause I wouldn’t be able to explain it clear enough. Lol
It is important to note that you won’t get quiet as good of signal at distance and it may cut in & out at times; but if you’re out in the country (somewhere with little to zero electrical interference) then it does fine on the WiFi. I wanted to share that at least, so you can still fly while you get a new OTG Cable.

Here’s the Cable I got off of Amazon for iPhone:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078SRXMMD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gyYXCbK4VTWEA

Here’s one for Android that seems to have good reviews as well:

Just bought a case that holds everything I need, with a semi-rigid clam shell design, that also has a shoulder strap. Spark Case w/ Items

It is the following item on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RF595N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Swap out the guards, 3 of the extra cables, controller guard, and prop lock on the lid side and I'm positive it'll fit a tablet and mount.

EDIT: I like this case because the Spark is recessed in the foam so the rotors are protected from anything in the zipper section that my protrude down while closed.

EDIT v2: This review shows the same case with a tablet and mount secured.

u/Jamb0rin0 · 1 pointr/DJISpark

I'd be careful adding any additional weight on, even 10g will take the flight time down a fair bit.

This one is £15 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingwon-Quadcopter-Helicopter-Easy-fold-Accessories/dp/B01N2XPX8K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1497973375&sr=8-3&keywords=drone+landing+pad

Does the job perfectly and the Spark loves it!

Polar pro case
Fits 2 extra and slimmer than the original case

Controller joystick guard
You can probably find a cheaper one.

Gimbal guard Extra protection while in the bag.

Phone Hood

Power Bank

This is my set up if I'm going outdoor. They don't take up that much space so. You can fit it in any size of backpack you want.

Hydration backack
The quality is ok for the price. I dont use the bladder when I have my spark inside.

u/bostonterrier4life · 2 pointsr/DJISpark

the 49 dollar set at best buy or even on amazon gives you good filters from polarpro at the cheaper price. its only a few bucks more than what youre think of getting.

https://www.amazon.com/PolarPro-Filter-3-Pack-Optical-Filters/dp/B073G9X7TR/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1527040779&sr=8-4&keywords=polar+pro+spark+filters

I've purchased a "battery strap" off of Amazon just for added safety.

Nice list.. I have the Kuuqa gimbal protector. Excellent piece. DJI should have included this like they did with the Mavic.

u/itwaslucky · 2 pointsr/DJISpark

wifi shouldnt need to reset in order to pair. mine goes from paired with my home wifi to controller wifi and vice-versa pretty smoothly every time. best thing to do would probably be to get an OTG cable if you're worried about it

u/MrBoons · 2 pointsr/DJISpark

I have a 10,000 mah pack and it only charges a spark battery 1 time. And takes hours. The Spark supports the Quickcharge 3.0, so getting a power bank with that will reduce charge times. Like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-30000mAh-Portable-Charger-Nintendo/dp/B01F8IRIN0/ref=sr_1_20?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1524670565&sr=1-20&keywords=quick+charge+3.0+power+bank

u/DogRatCat · 3 pointsr/DJISpark

I have used dessicant to rescue many a phone for family and friends, though not with total success because obviously sometimes there is permanent damage. I put the device in a big ziplock bag with the dessicant and let it sit for at least 2 or 3 days, the longer the better.

For example https://[amazon.com/6PACKS-Rechargeable-Desiccant-Packets-indicating/dp/B0781BN1BZ](https://amazon.com/6PACKS-Rechargeable-Desiccant-Packets-indicating/dp/B0781BN1BZ)

u/heartbraden · 1 pointr/DJISpark

This is the one I've been using and it's been working great.

u/jolleyho · 2 pointsr/DJISpark

I've only used them once so far, the ones I got were these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073G9X7TR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Comparing footage to no filter, it does tend to smooth out certain transitions due to reducing the shutter speed. Def worth 20 bucks to improve the quality.

I went with the HUL Drone Case for DJI Spark and I have really liked it.

u/miguelsan22 · 1 pointr/DJISpark

How do you like your case? The one I got has been a little too tight for the spark and batteries.

sure - this is the cable I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LN3LQKQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

I purchased 2 other cables before I got one that finally worked. I was trying to circumvent having to have 2 cables plugged into each other. But the one I listed above was the only way I got it to work.

u/rodneystubbs · 1 pointr/DJISpark

I got this one. Not a pelican case but I prefer the light weight case. Holds prop guards in the top.

You might want to buy a battery clip - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076WZVM89/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - as the batteries tend to come loose with age/use. My neighbor's did, and it dropped into the lake (luckily shallow enough he could retreive it). I always fly with the battery clipped in now!

PS: Neighbor was able to restore his waterlogged drone by shoving it in a bag of rice for three days - it flew!

u/insaneyoshi · 2 pointsr/DJISpark

Hi,

I have both accessories, and since both clip on in a similar way, I can confirm you will not be able to get the battery retainer in as well as the landing legs. Both accessories go around the same spot on the back arms of the drone.

Here's what I have:

Battery strap: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076WZVM89/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Landing legs: https://www.amazon.com/Drone-Fans-Extender-Stabilizers-Protector/dp/B0742CT3C1/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=dji+spark+landing&qid=1564443322&s=electronics&sr=1-17

You can either get a different set of landing legs that don't clip on like these, or you will need to choose using either the battery strap or the legs at a time.

u/Troopr1023 · 1 pointr/DJISpark

I would strongly suggest buying a battery strap too. The Spark has a defect whereby in some cases the battery will pop out mid flight. I know, because it happened to me. DJI hasn’t officially acknowledged the defect but there stories of other Spark owners having this same problem.

The problem is the battery. The latch wears out. There is strap you can get on amazon for about 8 bucks that will provide some safety. it’s kind of a design problem.
