So I've got two questions:

  1. I know Shamoe sells mostly bootleg, but I did notice that they had some interesting bed sheets like this: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1-c.w8995098-11706158877.7.FsSRoR&id=523276484792

My question here would then be, where to find legit bed sheets similar like those?

As well as the question if that bed sheet which also has a dakimakura side here: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1-c.w8061016-10551194168.5.dFrHB5&id=523282727549

is actually an original design from them or that it's stolen?

  2. A recent post on this post spiked my interest with that A&J also sold normal sized pillows like the MH2000 (http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%9E%95%E6%9C%AC%E4%BD%93-A-J%E3%82%AA%E3%83%AA%E3%82%B8%E3%83%8A%E3%83%AB-MH2000-%E3%83%8F%E3%82%A4%E3%82%AF%E3%83%A9%E3%82%B9/dp/B00M9UCKQQ%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJ3AS5HF6GECWRENQ%26tag%3DcLhaSxtp-22%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB00M9UCKQQ)

Now the question here is, I imagine that that pillow is similar or close to the feel/materials used for the DHR6000?

And with that said, does anyone know where I would perhaps find 2WT covers for the mentioned pillow (which is W63cm×H43cm).

Thanks for any information in advance.

I've machine washed mine for a year now with no issues. Cold, gentle cycle using laundry delicate bags. Hang dry them on a drying rack with no wringing and they're good to go!

Edit> Oh yeah, I use dye and perfume free and clear laundry detergent too. Like All Free and Clear

I'm happy to help anyone who would like to make one of their own- it's super fun (total cost was around $180- that includes shipping of the pillow and pillow case).

I commissioned the art from Ashley Swaby, got the pillowcase printed via Arts Cow, and got the pillow from Amazon.

After seeing some less-than-stellar comments about peoples' experiences with Royal Pillow, I figured I ought to try looking elsewhere. Does anyone have experience with this one from Arrowzoom or this one from Zituop or anything else like them? These two seem to be the most well-received on Amazon, but there are few enough reviews it seemed like a good idea to check elsewhere.

I know probably nothing in this price range is gonna compare to a DHR in fluffiness, but for 1/5th the price I'm totally okay with something that's just as "adequate" as it can be.

Ziploc bags are fine. Just make sure they are completely dry before you store them as you wouldn't want any mold to grow. If you use a washing machine any bleach free detergent should be ok to use. Don't use softener. If you're hand washing I've been using this stuff and I like it because it's no rinse.

For short term, clean them before storing them and store them in a zip lock bag to keep stuff out. Personally, I bought these boards to fold my covers around to keep them looking nice and the boards have a neutral pH so they wont deteriorate the cloth.

I've seen many users that just store their collection on closet shelves. I use a box. A drawer should be fine as long as your not just smashing them to the back with no protection. It still keeps the covers out of direct sunlight which is one of their main enemies.

For long term, you want them in a dry, cool, dark place. You also may want to upgrade to a bigger storage than bags to not trap in moisture. Best practices would be the same as storing any cloth for long storage, so you can look up websites like this for reference.

Cospa isn't bad, but it's not a premium body. From what I've seen on this sub, most people seem to prefer something more in the line of A&J, Comodo or Marshmallow, but those are the more serious collectors.

I was plenty happy with one that was basically Cospa's price-class with more stuffing for many years, though I have a Fules WithAqua now, which I think is the cheapest premium pillow you can get thanks to their ongoing introductory price.

Thanks. I'll make a habit of checking it regular with the sites linked in your ancient post, that seems to be the best way to avoid the terror of missing out.

As a side note, where is the best place to find the 1600mmx500mm pillows? I understand that royalpillow will do them in the states but the options I'm finding that are readily available are:

  1. Buy this 60"x20" pillow and deal with it being a bit too short for 1600x500 pillows and perfect for 1500x500 pillow.

  2. Buy this silly round style of pillow and deal with it being too long for 1500x500, just right for 1600x500 but now everything is cylindrical.
  3. Buy a pillow directly from a retailer like amiami and potentially get gorrila-ass-pounded on shipping costs. Not to mention how quickly this style of generic pillow breaks down.

  4. Buy an air filled pillow and potential puncture and deflate your waifu.

Is there a good/better/best option that I am overlooking?

EDIT: These appear to be the regular suspects here but they're pretty damn expensive. Do you really get what you pay for? DHR6000 and DHR5000.

Is goose feather or polyester filling ok? I want to buy it on amazon.com, with free international shipping, because I have $50 gift card to spend. Is one of these fine? : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XWG8KW/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_g201_i3_sh http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0029XZBE6/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_d0_g201_i1_crt

I do something like what /u/CuddlyOctopus does. I use ziploc quart bags since they're cheaper and easier to get than the fancy ones CO gets. I store all my bagged covers in a large container like this. I take such precautions because we get spiders and roaches and stuff here no matter how clean you are and I don't want any creepy crawlies taking up residence in my covers. I also like to hang the cover I'm going to use next on my wall (I change them every week), though I haven't yet sorted out a decent hanging apparatus...

Sorry if this is a silly question (im new to this), but do you use a product to cover up your dakimakura during the day-time (or when you don't use it)? The reason I ask is primarily for the purpose of avoiding my parents and siblings the discomfort of seeing my lewd daki cover whenever possible.

An example would be something like this, with 160cm length and 50cm width: https://www.amazon.com/Coop-Home-Goods-Hypoallergenic-Waterproof/dp/B075NVL9J8/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Would be nice if you could link me to a product you would recommend for the purpose I described. :)

Looking to clean my daki using this laundry detergent. Was wondering if its safe to use

u/TKhrowawaY · 2 pointsr/Dakimakuras

An enzyme based cleaner may be effective at removing organic stains such as sweat, since they will be able to break down the chemicals that comprise the stain. See something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ISDMQ8U/ref=psdc_15356211_t3_B005RXGLUS

This should pose less risk of discoloration compared to other products, since the enzymes should specifically target the stain causing compounds.

How about this? 60 euro and free shipping.
Btw can you pay with Euro on the Japanese amazon?

u/SadPanda28 · 1 pointr/Dakimakuras

I wanna know what's the current "top tier" inner pillow on the market right now. Back then it used to be DHR6000 but the recent amazon reviews are quite low and complains about how it's using a different material now (based from the reviews I think it started at late 2016), then I managed to stumble upon this which has better reviews and for only a fraction of the price. I just wanted to hear some thoughts and extra options if there are any.

u/ThatDotHackGuy · 3 pointsr/Dakimakuras

I'm deciding between these two:

COMODO CMD9000

R-STYLE

Obviously price is a big factor. Is the latter comparable to the first? I just don't want a flat pillow.

u/internethistory4sale · 3 pointsr/Dakimakuras

the change in manufacturing for DHR6000 was temporary and confined to the summer and fall of 2017 as far as i know. i believe they reverted back when customers noticed a difference and complained. if you don't even want to consider DHR6000, there are many alternatives:
