I would be delighted! He is my favorite living scholar. His first breakout work was on the relationship between Leo Strauss and Carl Schmitt. He has since then worked extensively in the field of Straussianism, particularly in revitalizing the academic legacy of Carl Schmitt. He focuses primarily on Strauss's distinction between revealed religion and philosophy and how that informs the role of the philosopher within society. Most of his books tend to be succinct and brief, bordering on laconic.
The top three I would reccomend are "The Lesson of Carl Schmitt", "Carl Schmitt and Leo Strauss: The Hidden Dialogue" , "Leo Strauss and the Theological-Political Problem".

If you have any further questions or want to discuss any of his work I am always happy to do so.

>are there any other good Iron Guard texts?

  • The Nest Leader's Manual by Codreanu is another good one.
  • Circulars and Manifestos by Codreanu (no link)
  • The Prison Notes by Codreanu.
  • Legionary Doctrine by Horia Sima (no link)
  • You can find additional sources here.

    >Since you have the Iron Guard symbol as your flair, I presume you agree with them.

Yes, on a lot of things.

    >What's different about the Iron Guard from regular Fascism? Is it just religiosity or was there more?

Well as a consequence of their religiosity, the Iron Guard was far more right-wing/reactionary than most other fascist movements (Codreanu was a monarchist at heart). I discuss a few of the other differences here in this thread.

    >The same is true of National Socialism, although I'm put off by the explicit racialism and anti-Semitism of the doctrine instead.

There's a lot of overlap between them all, tbh. The Iron Guard was explicitly anti-Semitic and racialist, although not biologically deterministic. Their concept of community also resembled that of the Volksgemeinschaft in National Socialism in a lot of ways, too. I still consider myself a National Socialist, but with greater priority placed on establishing a community bound by faith and blood (hence the flair - "clerical NatSoc").

I don't know what to tell you other than the obvious things, like starting real life fascist/natsoc groups. Prepare yourself for the upcoming war but don't jump the gun too soon, since the system probably has a couple decades left to live. Prepare yourself physically through an exercise regimen (maybe you can find out the various regimens they use in the military). The two most important things to do in the upcoming years is to learn as much as you can about how to wage insurgency and survive on your own and build up your followers. Read things like the Management of Savagery and other such books and finally, if you want to communicate clandestinely, use hidden tor email services like the ones listed here.

>The Judeo-Left was protesting with the flags of the "Libyan revolution" against Qaddaffi as well. Then after supporting it, pretend they never did.

I'll go ahead and dispute this one. It may be that CNN/MSNBC etc made it seem like there was some kind of popular support for the Libyan intervention as if it was part of "Arab Spring", but most 'real' leftists and leftist representatives were against it.

Cynthia McKinney (2008 Green presidential candidate) comes to mind as someone who opposed the Libyan intervention both before and after.

In short, it's useful to distinguish b/w the neo-liberal corporate left and the actual activist anti-war left when it comes to issues like this.

As for the Kurds, don't confuse the PKK/YPG with the Peshmerga. For more on the ideology behind the PKK and/or YPG see

>Of course in terms of her lifestyle, pretty tragic as she lived a life of alcoholism, drugs and orgies.

>Rotha hated Mosley and the BUF since she saw him and his BUFs policies as too Leftist

Good thing nobody knows who she is. A thot is a thot, be it a 10th century or 21st century thot.

edit- looking further into who she is, I've come to the conclusion she is not a thot and that she may actually be a very good asset for attracting women to fascism

Honestly surprised to see such a sophisticated interpretation of Nietzsche on this subreddit. I've seen awful misrepresentations of him even by flaired commenters on /r/askphilosophy.

Also wanted to add a few points:

  • That Nietzsche was overtly against antisemitism. There's a good article on that in the Washington Post here. Beyond that, many of the supposed instances of racism in his works (e.g. the 'blonde beast') are based on severely biased misreadings.

  • Nietzsche's relationship with politics is a highly complicated topic with very little in the way of settled agreement on even the simplest issues. A book was published late last year on the topic, however: Hugo Dronchon, "Nietzsche's Great Politics" (Princeton University Press, 2016).

That was a happy coincidence haha, if you want more details on deontology and this whole universalization principle, Kants Grounding for the metaphysics of morals is a great book.(Dont know if amazon links are allowed but: http://www.amazon.com/Grounding-Metaphysics-Morals-Supposed-Philanthropic/dp/087220166X )

Metaxas was an immensely popular leader in Greece. I hear that this biography does a good job at shedding light on his personality. https://www.amazon.com/Popular-Autocracy-Greece-1936-1941-Political/dp/0714648698

This site focuses on his regime as well. I have noticed a few mistakes in some of the articles, but overall it brings up some interesting points and you can find some of his speeches and quotes there too.

I was looking at this Kindle. Is this the one you have?

A few of my friends are telling me to get a tablet and/or Nook but I really like the idea of what a Kindle does and gives the user.

Germany literally wasn't the aggressor in either World War 1 or 2. I know that's very difficult to accept and understand. Do you not see that the "Allies" have gone on to take over Europe, and now most of the rest of the world, through Global Capitalism? World War 2 was a necessary clearing out of central Europe so that this current power bloc could build it's unified EU.

Do you not know what happened at Dunkirk? Where the Germans spared the entire British army while they were cornered? Or that the Germans didn't bomb England in return for over three months, after Churchill started firebombing civilian German cities? Are you not aware of the constant overtures for peace from the Germans that were always rebuffed by the Allies, the Germans even going so far as to send one of their highest officers, Rudolf Hess to England to attempt, again, to negotiate for peace.

Again, I just have to recommend to you to read, "How Britain Initiated Both World Wars", by Nick Kollerstrom. Here is the Amazon link:

His autobiography. Well, sort of. He really question his belief system and the course of his life in the context of self-worth and responsibility. Really fascinating read.

If you can read German get Solzhenitsyn first, it has not yet officially been translated into English because the Jews control all publishing. I have also refrained from providing books on science and philosophy and kept it to history because it would become too expansive:

I have read in this book that Engels was responsible for scientifiying (is that even a word?) marxism.

So perhaps he would sound like a modern STEM guy. "-We can and should measure morality with marxism."

u/billynomates1 · 1 pointr/DebateFascism

Everyone should read this book. It explains how the differences between cultures came to be. It's really fascinating.

The current academic consensus (as given in Cesarani's excellent Final Solution, which I highly recommend) seems generally correct. Now, how long it will take for that to be absorbed by public consciousness is a different question.
